I think the majority of the projects are trying to capitalize on the DeFi hype!
As always you need to fully investigate the project in order to take your ideas if it is worth it or not.
Personally, I get a bit burned in ICO's in the past. I am seeing this DeFi hype the same as it was ICO's two years ago.
I am waiting to see some establish projects before investing. But have a few in sight.

I do not understand how NEO do not capitalize on this!
Since the beginning I really thought NEO will thrive because they have the same capabilities as Ethereum network, but the fees are way better. You even get GAS!
I know ETH comes first and rule the market with their Smart Contracts. But I really thought NEO could face them head to head.
Now with all this hype on DeFi the network is getting clogged up and the fees skyrocket.

My biggest regret was playing with margin trading without having much knowledge.
I strike out a few times! Not that much loss because I was starting with crypto, but I lost some position in tokens/coins that capitalized big!
I did not know enough about margin trading nor even about the coins/tokens that I was playing with.
Even now that I have much more knowledge, I will not get in margin trading again!
I think that this is win big/lose big, but when you win you want more, and when you lose you strike out!
Even if you have your own rules and mentality to know when to stop losses it is very risky!

Just saw on twitter the founder of neo, he is promoting this project and it looks like this will be a good project, but who knows because their website is still not completely so I am waiting for them to update it and learn about this project first.
This could be interesting! I have always high hopes for NEO projects. Actually, I didn't know about Flamingo, but if it is backed from inside NEO team, I will take a look. I've seen a lot of old projects that changed the concept to Defi. To me this isn't great because obviously they are using the hype just to revive their project.
someone is crazy about Hype Defi! It's a red light for you, be careful before you cry get caught up in this FOMO.
I am seeing too many similar topics! I guess DeFi is really creating some hype. My advice is to be careful with sudden changes in concept and architecture! Some projects were thought nowhere near DeFi and are changing only for the hype. I think this could be a potential problem. They are abandoning their original ideas (if they had any from the start) and following the trend in hope of capitalizing on the hype. A project should have solid grounds in technology and concept. If they change out of the sudden is because they do not have confidence in their ideas/technology. |

Actually they add value according to the IEO/ICO price and set it in the bounty but don't have that value after starting trading so you can just call it is a dream. Suppose the value of a token is $1 according to the IEO and bounty is budgeted for this value but then the value of that token drops completely when trading starts. Simply thinking a good project never gives lots of rewards budget to the bounty hunters.
This is the big problem but is not recent. Even in 2017 this could happen. But in those times due to ICO hype everything kept the value. Even some projects that no longer exist. And some even increase exponential their value. That was the reason why bounty hunters did well. The real question is if any new project can keep the predicted value. Now DeFi projects are also a bit hyped, but can they maintain the predicted value after entering the market? |

Be suspicious of any projects that just decide to implement DeFi all of a sudden when DeFi wasn't implemented in the project's features from the beginning, this is nothing but a way to take advantage of DeFi Hypes going on nowadays, if you are a deep crypto fan like myself you should be seeing few old projects that aren't DeFi from birth and start talking about implementing DeFi feature, I'm 100% against this act as it's unclean and dangerous
I'm a recent returnee to the world of crypto, and from what I'm seeing there is a big hype around DeFi. This is looking like the big era of ICO's from a few years. I think you are absolutely right! If a project is not thought to be DeFi and out of the sudden changes, there is a big chance that is trying to capitalize on hype and probably is fake/scam. |

Be careful participating in this event this one is most likely another ponzi scheme in the making.
They promise 2% daily dividend to investors its not a crowd funding but an investment scheme.
Adding a good feedback in their channel may result of many can be a victim of this scheme don't do this task in exchange for penny don't support scam project !.
It is not even clearer the value of this bounty! On topic title they say 25000 weekly payment, but then rewards are fixed number per number of followers! If only few participants, the weekly payment is just for show. Not saying this is a scam but coming from a newly account is to be advised. The problem is that people participate without even looking, then they will spam the forum that all bounty campaign do not worth it. |

WOW!! This deserves a prize for digging this up  Actually, this is a useful topic. I did not quit smoking but changed to IQOS due to the prohibition of menthol flavored cigarettes in Europe. It takes a while to get used to, but I think this is a better choice. I reduce smoking, it is one of the few pleasures I have. very difficult do leave at all. And I notice that I sleep better, and breath better. This is a controversial topic, because I know that is bad for your health, and they must use some kind of replacements that are also not good for you. Anyone in the IQOS world? Did you notice some changes as well? |

There is no best project to invest! You should not invest banking on what other people say!
You can check other people opinions in order to find new projects, but you need to make the work as well.
If you see a potential project take a bit to investigate it further. I have some rules I need to comprehend the project.
- check the team (good project should present team members. check their linkedin to see if they are related to the field)
- read the whitepaper and bitcointalk ANN
- understand the project and their area of work
- check for a building community
- participate in their channels (discord, slack, telegram, etc)
That was my main topics in investing in ICO's, now Defi is the new ICO's.
You must have in mind that only a small percentage of the projects will survive and be lucrative.

I am guessing that a lot happened when I was away! Need to look at this entire topic to see the changes. I remember 2 big pools (GDT and Elite). From what I see one kept going and there is a new one. I kept receiving some payouts, so I guess it is still worth it voting for delegates. |
