It costs $685 before the GPU's for each rig if I'm running dual 850's - it costs $845 before GPU's for my 1600w rigs, so the more cards, the better to bring down the cost per rig.
If I built 2 3 card 1080 TI's it would cost $6,200
The same 6 cards on 1 rig only costs $5,345

ebate to ebay with all deals is
269.99 + 269.99 = 539.98 - 54 ( 10 % ebucks ) is 485.98
minus 5.40 for 1% ebates is 480.58 minus 2% (10.80) for paypal mastercard is 469.78
Damn good deal Phil. yeah and they are really good psu's better then the evga 1600 g2 close to the evga 1600 p2 evga 1600 g2 is about 370 so 2 are 740 evga 1600 p2 is about 420 so 2 are 840 and sold out asking for more. corsair 1500 runs 450 so 2 are 900 vs 470 very happy to get this today. If I didn't already have so many spare P2's and T2's I'd pick a couple up, hopefully someone else can get some good savings and jump on that - thanks for sharing as always Phil.

GTX 1080ti has a maximum power consumption (TDP) of 250 Watt. 6x250 = 1500 Watt. Better used 2x1000 Watt PSU, for keeping another part Of mining in good condition and for an along term mining process. for PSU can Corsair or EVGA.
250W is not a maximum of 1080Ti power consumption - it's typical TDP. The most overclocked models has 300W TDP. But with proper settings of 1080Ti your proposition is good enough. for 6x1080Ti 2kW PSU is neccessary safe minimum I have never been anywhere near 250w on my 1080 Ti:s. I am running five on a 1200w psu with some power to spare. (65% TDP) I am sure i could run six cards if i tweaked it better. My psu can handle 1300w peak. 2kw is overkill imo if you dont have free electricity and live on the north pole. it wouldn't pull 2kw unless you use 2kw

Thank you very much for all the feedback guys. If 2x850 does the job for 6x 1080ti, will 2000w do the job 8x 1080ti or should I go for 2400w?
Also, how much RAM would I need for the rig of 8x 1080ti? Will 4gb be enough or I need 8gb?
Thanks again.
Sure it'll "do the job" but if you can afford it, it's always better to leave as much buffer room on the load as you can.

I haven't been holding, as im a poor boy and spend my BTC regularly to get by.
But I am holding onto: 0.0125BTC (plus the 0.033 yobit still owes me on the sig campaign once they reload the hotwallet) 0.188 LTC 0.0 ETH I never trusted it from day one 0.0 ETC I bought, and sold when it went 3x 0.0 BCH I sold at the peak when first received; I think 0.33? Then bought at .01, and sold at the double-up. (maybe theres an extra zero to be placed at the decimal? but I think im remembering right...)
and given the recent prices: a metric crapton of BUB. I've made tons off bubble when it was regularly trading for 0.00004000; my sells were for 0.00015-0.00020... I just put a sell order and waited for the pumps that surely came. I even went as far as to look at historical info, and put an insane bid on the entire stock of coins it could have... lol. It only ties up 1.1mBTC...
The next time I see the whole alt market go -50% again, I hope I have the spare BTC to invest more than I did this time around. None of my crapcoin picks went negative... so im kind of kicking myself for not having more BTC to buy in.... the bounceback only took ~3 days this time around...... So this is definitely a good sign for trading.
Now; These BTC futures traders: This is where us common folk are going to get run up the ringer.... Without regulation.. imagine whats going to happen to people whom try to play along with the whales.....
I actively trade S&P e-mini and not afraid at all. I transferred over those couple BTC to get my feet wet in trading but TBH - I'm deathly afraid for some reason so that's why my coins have just been sitting and I didn't buy a single thing. I just haven't done the research to feel it. looking at the charts they are just all over the place. My standard entry and exit points never line up so it's like a crap shoot for me, but looking back, hell I should have just dumped it into literally anything almost lol.

sneak peak of my new tool for managing rigs keys -dont need to install any tools or programs on the remote pc -it uses the default Administrator account to access any box on your network via IP address -you have to have a password for the account which as you see in the picture -you have to ether open ports on the firewall to allow it to work or do this below : Open the Group Policy Object Editor snap-in (gpedit.msc) to edit the Group Policy object (GPO) that is used to manage Windows Firewall settings in your organization. Open Computer Configuration, open Administrative Templates , open Network , open Network Connections , open Windows Firewall, and then open either Standard Profile, Enable the following exception: "Allow Remote Administration Exception"
I miggt come up with a powershell script to do the above but im not that good at PS, if somone else has input on this would be helpful. This app will basically copy any local files from the machine its run on to any computer in your network , reboot the miner create the shortcuts for the start.bat , basically hands free and no need to run stuff from a 3rd party on your box. I'm also adding the option to manage ccminer and other miners the same way, just enter in your new startup file name , its location and destination and boom switch to mining something new. You do have to modify your own batch files, of course. Also you can manage as many machines you with a list of IP addresses in a text box That is pretty f'n Marvell-ous! Keep us posted please =] yup i will i'll finish my testing in a few days , right now its working flawlessly on my 20 rigs , saving me sooo much time I can imagine, you're running double my rigs and I get fed up logging in and out of each one lol. Would your program be able to monitor temps and all that or what are you currently using for that? Happy coding

some advice to all sell some coins. 5%,10%,15%
sell some me I sold a ton of my coins have under .2 btc and under 1.0 bcc
Is that because you think BtC will tank Phil? I'm tempted, I have all my BtC in cold storage except for a few coins in Poloniex - their 2k daily limit is a PITA though so I might just transfer that back out to FIAT for more gear or back to cold storage, still unsure.

Can someone confirm this is a really big pump , and the dump is coming. ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) What goes up must come down - that's the buy/sell pattern of any trading.... the difference with Bitcoin is that the pattern is very erratic because there is not enough liquidity in the market (ie. everything other coin by large is still paired/bought using Bitcoin). With new money (USD$) coming into the system, expect the wild swings to be tighter.... 2018 will be a good year for us miners, in my humble opinion.... expect 100K BTC easy. Note: pump and dump will always be there, just like stock market, even more in crypto markets because its not fully regulated like stock trading etc. I think the only real threat to Bitcoin is ..... a. Bitcoin Cash b. Privacy virtual currency c. No adoption d. Bitcoin her self... 100k would be insane. You really believe that Citronick? Everthing is insane.... anything can happen. Do you believe that this is current price of BTC and alts as of this hour, minute.... BTC 16k DASH 953$ ETH 730$ LTC 305$ XMR 326$ Actually, no, I'm still in awe right now.

All I have to say is Foam Tiles. They are perfect height. Cheap. For like 10$ you could cut to fit 40 rigs. Love 'em.

I've never used alibaba, but it looks like pricing on that motherboard is $125 when I use that link... was it $179 with shipping included I presume?
Do you think there is any chance that 8 GPUs with non blower coolers could work on that motherboard if there's a 3000 cfm box fan blowing air through the GPUs? Ideally I'd go for Rx 580s (ASUS Strix since I believe they have excellent coolers) mining Lyra2Rev2 coins, but if the spacing doesn't handle that I'd consider GTX 1060s with EVGA SC being the first choice. I may have a family member wanting a rig built so I'm looking more closely into riser free motherboard options at the moment.
3000CFM dedicated to just 1 board... I'm going to have to say no issue that's a pretty damn insane amount of flow for sure.

No wonder you have such a pessimistic view of solar. $40k for 10KW of panels that make 20KWh in summer.
I had a record the other day - 141KWh off my 21.6KW of panels. 12th day of summer too.
40 summer 20 winter.

Was a good run for a few days mining bulwark shit coin (this must be the worst name ever) but I stopped mining it since profitablity has gone down. There are other coins with almost the same profit but with a much brighter future.
Bulwark is probably worth less then $1 in a couple of days.
Care to shed some light?

Anyone thinking about going solely strictly for mining, just stop it already lol.
I do have a 10kw panel on my house, we got it before I started mining, it is currently producing 20kw/day in the summer it was doing doing about 40kw/day.
Basically it barely offsets 1 rig lol. So if you're thinking you're going to plop down 40k to offset the power cost of 1 or 2 mining rigs.... you're a bad dude lol
You must be retarded if you going to pay 40k for 10kW system lol It was what it was. Solar City is probably the most expensive, that's who we went with last year. Done and paid for. No fucks given.

They do sell a splitter that splits your CPU into 2 PCIe 8 pins, i haven't used them though so no idea if it works or not, but I have seen them, been meaning to pick up a few to try.

Love the video Phil - My bedroom looks like your garage - not in terms of rigs just in terms of I don't have a bedroom, it's more like an office/warehouse lol. I couldn't help it, I haven't moved into the new warehouse yet but decided to build one of the 1070 TI's - these things I am in love with - running it in my bedroom as all panels in the garage are fully loaded. ASUS Prime z270-A G4400 4gb EVGA 1600w P2 Overkill but I have a few of them laying around so why not. Doing about 4.4 Sol/W ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FpnzuSro.jpg&t=663&c=0WUoTE0q9GX5nA) 6th Card I installed on one of my 5 card 1080 TI's already, didn't feel like detaching it. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FNsYE5Rh.png&t=663&c=rzAFPz6POAAL9Q)

What is the usename and password to log in via SSH?
please try 'miner' for both username and password... While SMOS server is offline how is it possible to access it via via SSH?! Is there any way to access SMOS files on the USB to edit them directly? I can't open the part of USB that contained SMOS files on it ... Uhhhmmmmmm local ofcourse pretty sure most ppl that use smos don't know linux. I know i don't, tried it out for a couple days it was easy to set up, but if i were using it right now, I wouldn't know wtf to do, how to change the configs etc. just saying, not everyone knows what you know.
