As much as I can understand after the attacks of BCH owners to BTC blockchain most of anti segwit people changed their mind. Bitcoin really needs upgrade

In some point you are right. Not enough usage yet. And BTC is still in BETA version of it. That's why price moving this much. I believe it will have more real world usage in near years. And BTC price needs to calm down to make it possible

I use bittrex. Never had  any problems with it, except during high voluma of some coins they are taking that coin to maintance and it's dissgusting

It depends on project which you are in. For example some of tokens you can sell as soon as presale finishes. . Some of them takes a long time  whetheras some after ICO ending.

Maximum satoshi you can get from faucets is maximum 100 per 5 minute (except mex's sites).

Don't waste your time with high offering sites.

I didn't listen to this advise but one man who investing even before hard fork when everyone was fearing about his bitcoins he said I continue to buy btc. And then btc pumped very high when we didn't know what will happen in first fork.

So the answer of your question I think you should buy small portions  every week or month. If you trader then better to wait correction
