301  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is Now Climbing Back Again !! on: January 03, 2018, 03:10:01 PM
Volality of bitcoin prices will always have factors pertaining to its demand and supply and with accordance to the news that affects people's perception towards it. I assume that the good news upon the first usage of lightning network is one factor that affects the return to its normal climb. When trust grow, it will regain its popularity and even attract more users. Also, vacation is almost over and I guess people are starting to invest again after the big spending this last few weeks.
302  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Converting BTC to real money on: January 03, 2018, 02:10:06 PM
Here in the Philippines we have a wallet which called coins.ph and you can cash in and cash out your money. If you get an altcoin sell it first in exchange on where it can be traded then convert it to btc. By there, you can transfer it from the exchange to your wallet.

I support op's answer.  Through banks and remittances, it is possible here in our country to convert our bitcoins to physical money or fiat. It's the only method of spending our coins here because I haven't seen stores accepting them especially here in our province.
Most them just trade and mine just to put their coins into circulation and profit from it. Thanks to bitcoins decentralization, these things are possible.
303  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in the newyear 2018 on: December 31, 2017, 12:01:00 PM
I don't know if a newbie understand what dump means in crypto industry. Guessing also that dump, crash, bloodbath and dips are common terms being misinterpreted my many.
Dump means it will lose value or will go zero value or useless. Bitcoin will never get dumped.  It take gears for it to gain such demand and it will take longer for users to lose their trust on it.
If you may compare it to other coins, bitcoin is superior.
304  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC PRICE on: December 31, 2017, 11:12:37 AM
Guys cheer up, it's new year's eve and everyone would buy at least for few more days until vacations are over. If I were you, try working hard now if you haven't got any to invest to earn bitcoin. Soon it will all be worth it.
If you are willing to buy then it's time. It's a big blood bath.
Don't see this big dip as a bad thing. It can actually give more chances to those who were left behind.
I can't help spending too for a small snack later and fireworks you know.
Calm and just spend what you need to spend. Bitcoin is a great currency. It's still worth saving for you know.
305  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin be dethroned? on: December 30, 2017, 09:44:47 AM
Possibilities are low in my opinion. The only thing that could make it happen is when people started using alts as their main cryptocoin which will give that specific alts higher demand than bitcoin.
Even though bitcoin is a bit out of the game now, people still trusts it's value as a storage.
What users do is they are holding bitcoins and using alts as for their activities today. Which I think will not lessen the reputation of bitcoin. I think bitcoin as a medium in this industry will maintain its reputation.
Though negative feedbacks are all over the place, bitcoin struggles to give its abilities.
306  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's going on with Bitcoin???? on: December 29, 2017, 08:38:41 PM
At this moment it is not suitable for micro transactions anymore, but that doesn't mean it is not what it was meant to be anymore.

If you want a few hundred dollars worth of bitcoin, use altcoins or keep it on exchanges to prevent running into the high fees.

Doesn't this still beat the main purpose of Bitcoin? Also, converting to alts has fees too, right? Some recipients also don't have such alternatives.

We do support bitcoin and it's main purpose but you don't really have a choice. Continuing with the scaling problem will make you lose what could have been your own profit.
Using altcoins could give you cheaper and faster compared to bitcoin today. It's for your own sake too.
Maybe someday when problems are resolved, we may continue with lesser pain. But for now, hundred dollars or less worth of bitcoin transaction is not practical.
Bitcoin is still a good long term storage though. Nice to have some alts used as a helping hand nowadays.
307  Economy / Speculation / Re: Anyone else think "long term" hodlers are idiots? on: December 28, 2017, 07:58:38 PM
Funny how every time the market is in a recession and losers keep holding on to their losses they magically become "long term" holders.

God damn it, "long term" is such a stupid meme. Admit it, you wanted to get rich quick and once you realised you are too dumb to swing trade you suddenly became a "long term" loser.

Such idiocity.

You think Dan Balzerian held anything "long term"?

Long term is for losers.

I was not yet in the forum when you posted this but I think you just lost a double profit there. All I can say is hahaha. Pretty sure holding is for losers when they are currently holding the same amount with thousands of dollars more in value. (  Grin respect )
When you posted this, value of BTC is about $3k. Even holding from midyear until today could give you sure good bucks.
Let's not be talking nonsense. Volality is crazy and no one can really predict a certain value. Hodl or sell value will definitely move.
308  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how much money have you cashed out from bitcoin on: December 28, 2017, 06:42:46 PM
a month ago i had 1 6950..now i have 3...bitcoins paid for the 2 new cards..i really didnt want to cash em out but didnt have a choice since im a med student, dont have a job and kinda low on cash..

Well, I can relate to your situation. I am a nursing student and likewise low on cash. Bitcoin somehow can support my needs. It's hard to save though I am eager to. But career first before anything else. I just try to keep some in my wallet.
Grateful since I haven't cashed out more than one whole bitcoin. I am very particular in the things I need before even spending any of my bitcoins. About 0.06btc.
Hoping to catch up in saving though I am going through my last semester. Expecting a lot of expenditures but hopefully I pass.
Good luck to you too.
309  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One currency One world? on: December 28, 2017, 12:12:40 AM
Every country has currency diversity and would not let a single cuureny to be same. Thinking that it would only increase rate of criminality yet it sound pretty good because when it comes to traveling, it will surely be convenient knowing you would have nothing g to worry about payments.
Still, fiat and bitcoin can be a good tandem in usage if currencies. Complementing each other very well like what bitcoins and some altcoins do. I think with both all will run smoothly.
310  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do there is a possibility of another correction in bitcoin? on: December 27, 2017, 12:13:13 PM
I think I am more comfortable with corrections. I am bit worried about the TESTING part of breaking the upper  resistance of bitcoin. I am thinking about what if it fails then a sudden crash happens. No assurance of sure stability or sustained value for everyone.
With such events, I think it will decline investors because it will not be good for businesses. Less trust and less people will be attracted because they will be scared too. Noobs without knowldege are at high risks of losing their own capital here.
311  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think the Xmas and Holiday season, caused the drop in the price? on: December 27, 2017, 11:14:19 AM
Not saying that it is the reason totally but may be one of the factors that caused the big drop. It is a fact that people do spend more during occasion especially Christmas ang new year holidays because it is being celebrated worldwide unlike birthdays, and other anual celebrations.
Also guessing that it will take time for the prices to recover because everyday it gets harder to gain bitcoins. Not unless people are all rich and could buy and sell their coins whenever they wanted too.
I am a solid hodler and I always prioritizes things before spending my coins.
312  Other / Off-topic / Re: Breaking News: Quantum computers can crack Satoshi's wallet on: December 26, 2017, 10:42:24 PM
I think it's too expensive but if this said quantum computers have sure results then it will profit fortune.

The vulnerability of bitcoin is already mentioned by satoshi himself. He knew that when a super quantum computer is invented, there are high risk of being hacked. That is why protocols are made and two security features. Aside from elliptic curve there is the public key scheme.
Well, do you guys really wanted bitcoin to be cracked ? I think once that these are done, bitcoins are not safe anymore. There are more rooms for manipulation.
313  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Importance of Masters Degree ??? on: December 26, 2017, 09:49:15 AM
As years pass by, world becomes more developed and would demand workers and developers that are competent and could probably do what the system needs.
As an example, just like here in our forum. Before, it is easier to find a decent income without too much of a competition with others or even without knowledge of cryptocurrencies. While today, as bitcoin develop and becomes in demand, the forum gets to congested and need to filter and pick let us say people who can contribute rather than just milking from campaigns.
That is why the forum becomes stricter.
314  Economy / Speculation / Re: DON'T PANIC. HOLD YOUR BITCOIN. on: December 26, 2017, 07:53:25 AM
At the moment, bitcoin hits 15400.00 US Dollars and I am expecting a slight drop again before another boost by the end of this year. Assuming about 16000.
Hodling your coins will surely be worth it guys. Hodl on a bit longer and I know it will boost up. But I think depending on the increase is a bit wrong I say expect for some corrections too. I don't know about you guys but I feel kinda worried when it's shoots up fast and high, though I'm excited.
I think corrections make me feel safe about the prices. Seeing that the corrections says the last stop before pumping up again.
315  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin contribution to world economy on: December 26, 2017, 06:47:39 AM
World economy will still be based on every country that would be smart in the usage and acceptance of bitcoins. And will depend on the application itself. A country may allow exchanges but due to its decentralisation, it will be hard to know what specifically is its effect on a country's economy. Government is still in charge of such matters that it's why bitcoin toward the acceptance by the government is still debatable. Until know, it is still a puzzle how will it be effective without bringing burden to the user. Users are hoping to have less pain in transactions that is why they started using bitcoins. Putting taxes and fees are already a burden by some.
316  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will rise during the Christmas holidays on: December 24, 2017, 06:33:31 PM
A lot of people are actually saying the exact opposite actually, as they think that during this time people are going to be cashing out as they want to be able to buy gifts for people in their lives -- but no one is to really know what people are going to do. It's not like any real research is being done on people, we're all just sitting here speculating.

I hope it does rise though, I've got a pretty high stake at the moment! HODL

Apparently yes, you're perceptions are quite the opposite. Occasions means spending and that clearly reflects on the prices these past few days. And we can't really track how many cashed out because it's clearly anonymous. Speculations are based on the movement of prices itself but with no assurance of accuracy.
There is so much to HODL and don't freak out.
317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY] BITCORE BTX Signature & Avatar Campaign Members+ [OPEN] on: December 24, 2017, 05:51:50 PM
I am curious, is there a required wallet for the payments ?
I am interested, looks like manager is very active.
Is it possible that I could be qualified for this job ?

No, sorry, you have to be legendary level.

Oh well, some other time maybe, good luck to your project.
Merry Christmas.
318  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Quantum Computer vs Bitcoin on: December 24, 2017, 05:42:23 PM
I don't think that any quantum computers could destroy bitcoins. It's almost a decade and all that they can do is copy and enhance a specific feature to create new coin. If bitcoin can be destroyed, maybe it was done already and alts are never called as alts anymore.
My opinion it quite through objective and observation.

With some of what I have read and my understanding. Quantum computers are becoming huge ten years from now that would give higher risks to bitcoin. The elliptic curve signature scheme used by bitcoins can be broken or cracked by that time.
But as also said, bitcoin has another security feature called public key scheme wherein protocols itslef can be revised to safer usage though there is no such steo for it as we have seen.

There are no guarantees and future might bring us intense situations that is why we need resolutions as early as possible. I hope that we won't wait for that time to happen before taking an action. Just like today by slow transactions and high fees.
319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🌍🌍[ANN][ICO]AIDOC - Ai Doctor on the Blockchain 🌍🌍 on: December 24, 2017, 09:25:34 AM
I haven't notice anything like this before and this is actually what I wanted to see as technology gives way to a healthier society.
I am huge fan of health promotions.
Great project and hoping for a success.
