301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ElephantCoin - ELP | PoW with Superblocks | Please Upgrade to Version 1.2 on: September 05, 2013, 03:05:41 AM
Anyone wants to dump please go to coins-e.com, I put 1 mil buy order there today and most are not filled.

There are around 10-15 mil ELP coins minted at this time, and I have 10 BTCs to buy all that hit my price  Grin
302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: STAR COIN [STR] - The coin with bonus STAR blocks on: September 05, 2013, 02:58:41 AM
Adding checkpoints will not fix it. It will fork again. Until a real fix is applied I doubt vern will re list it.

You need to get to the bottom of the fork instead of releasing a checkpoint everytime

I don't see forks, everything is fine and I have been mining it for 3 days, no problem at all.

Any coins can be forked, it's not only STR, especially low-hashrate coins are easier to be forked.
303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ★★★ [ANN][VLC] ValueCoin | The real valuable coin | Launched on: September 04, 2013, 09:07:42 PM
This coin has been there for long time, should be listed in cryptsy!

Have you been reading the above?

Why would cryptsy list it with all the pre-mined coins out there and the lack of explanation?

Ohh... they wouldn't.

Aaaaan... they haven't.

I don't agree with what you said.

Cryptsy will make their money, they don't care about a coin premined or not. In fact, they listed many coins heavily premined, some just a few days after they launched. I suspect these are made by their friends, or themselves.

The key to get listed is to have more interests in the miners. Now there are many competitions to cryptsy. I see bter.com listed many coins recently, including many not listed in the cryptsy, for example CDC (1 mil premined I think). This is good strategy for them, as the 1st one always get advantages among the traders. People don't really care about premine, premine will be factored in the trading price anyway, so there's nothing to worry about it.

That's why pre-mine is bad. It devalues a coin instantly, which is going to annoy anyone that wants to mine it fairly and for it get a good price on an exchange.

Yes I agree, premine is bad for sure. But all I am saying is that it will be reflected in the price, there's no point to over-exaggerate it, let the market determine its value, traders are not stupid, they know what's the price should be assigned to each coin. There's no point to say that because one coin has premine, so it can not be listed in certain exchange. And the fact is, many premined coins are listed, and there's no problem of it.

ELP is stable and consistent, and with active dev support all time along, a good one to be added to cryptsy!

+1, ELP, VLC and CDC!

have updated the home page and OP post

the wallet sync is fine, just may take some time (1-1.5 hrs sinc from scratch), and there are some orphan chains around,
it takes time for the program to figure it out, but the blockchain is fine, and mining works fine also.

Happy mining!!

Is github updated to latest version too?

I saw github updated too.

Amazing.

myself and 99% of the people here cant even mine this coin and its listed within hours of launch...

agreed, I don't see the logics of exchanges rush to list this coin. I mined one hr with 4xi7 and get 0 (actual 5 orphans), and within 30 mins after I started mining (not even from the start) there were 1000+ blocks mined (from block 2600 to 3700+ , the spec says one block per minute, so should be only 30 blocks in 30 mins). My impression is that altho it is said to be CPU mining, someone may have a secret GPU miner and mining it, this is a common trick for CPU coins and a reason I don't usually mine CPU coins.

Bter/cryptsy list this coin just a few hrs after it is launched, only to give instamining people a chance to dump.
313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: STAR COIN [STR] - The coin with bonus STAR blocks on: August 29, 2013, 12:06:33 AM
maybe you want to try from the backup of your wallet and sync up the chain from scratch? I once had a similar situation, then I cleaned the config dir, copy from the backup wallet and sync from scratch, everything worked fine.

It looks like pos generation has problems, I see this in almost all pos coins. Some pos block generated, even confirmed, then next time sync it becomes orphan. Seems pos code unstable.
314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Exchange] Bter.com announcements and updates on: August 28, 2013, 11:14:18 PM
SecureCoin (SRC) is added to Bter.com market at

https://bter.com/trade/src_btc

this becomes ridiculous, launched 2 hours and an exchange support it? for people to dump the instamined coins? what's the point of the exchange at this time? at least wait for some time so people can mine and then exchange. Bter is not that desperate to grab coins from cryptsy? lmao
315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SRC] SecureCoin | A Fast and Secure Version of Bitcoin | LAUNCHED on: August 28, 2013, 09:35:43 PM
I give up, last 30 mins seen 1000+ blocks mined, spec says 1 / min? garbage. Someone must mining with GPU miner. Huge instamining.
316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SRC] SecureCoin | A Fast and Secure Version of Bitcoin | LAUNCHED on: August 28, 2013, 09:31:35 PM
big instamining is going on, I wonder someone has a GPU miner?
317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SRC] SecureCoin | A Fast and Secure Version of Bitcoin | LAUNCHED on: August 28, 2013, 09:05:14 PM
long orphan chains, can't even catch up...
318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SRC] SecureCoin | A Fast and Secure Version of Bitcoin | LAUNCHED on: August 28, 2013, 08:59:19 PM
what's the block number now? I see only orphans.
319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Exchange] Latest Cryptsy Additions, News and announcements on: August 28, 2013, 08:40:29 PM
Yes agree that ELP should be up in the list. Also what about ExtremeCoin?
+1 for EXC and ELP. EXC has no premine I guess?
