my observation of profitability was based on how much Altcom you could earn, not how much you could earn per Altcom.

The best time to mine Altcom is now, before it hits bigger exchanges, the rewards are 1 per block and as the difficulty rises you get less. so if you do mine when it hits bigger exchanges the difficulty will be so high, that it will not be so profitable for smaller miners.
