301  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Casino Stake.com sued for $400 million on: September 02, 2022, 11:00:20 AM
I agree with you, this is not a good news at all for the customers, and as states the OP it could be a good idea to not leave much funds there in the coming months IMO. I don't understand why livingfree is trying to reassure people while he is not even a member of their campaign. If people lose their funds I guess he will reimburse them. Right livingfree? LOL
Now that the news is out, it could be a nice thing if Chris Freeman could tell his story, does anyone know his username here BTW?

Maybe he just read the article and sees that this is an empty lawsuit, just like the rape allegations from 20 years ago (meetoo movement)? I read the article and did not see any specifics (accusations) there, except that something was allegedly promised to him, etc. many years ago. If he had clear contracts or some kind of documents, he would have presented them, right? Maybe I'm wrong, but it looks like blackmailing with the aim of damaging the reputation and trying to get money just for withdrawing the claim.
302  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you play online/offline without your wife or family knowing it? on: September 02, 2022, 10:35:22 AM
The best thing you can do is to buy a cheap android phone with a Bluetooth headset. Hide it from your family and use it whenever they are not in the house or whenever you are alone. Keep your second phone in your car or in your basement so that no one knows about it. In case they do find out about this phone then you can tell them it is for work purposes and that is the reason you bought a cheap one.

Extremely controversial advice - if your wife finds this phone (and this is highly likely since you need a charger for it, a contract with a mobile operator, etc.) she may think that you are cheating on her and this will be a bigger problem than gambling. It seems to me that the easiest way is to enter the casino from the phone in private browser mode - then there will be no traces left, and even if your wife checks the phone, she will not see anything.
303  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you play Slots? (long sessions / jumper / focussed) on: September 01, 2022, 03:20:35 PM
There are some people doing some ritual before playing slot games like the pattern to play or pull the lever at the same time so there's a higher chance get a higher roll well it is just their beliefs we have a different perspective with it, when i play i always do is to spin 2 times and then make another automatically spin so i feel there's a piece of luck with that pattern well it is a slot game it is all about the algorithm of the programmed system.

I read about funny experiments where experimenters "trained" rats to do absurd things to get a piece of food. The human brain works on the same algorithms as the rat. If event A happened after we performed action B, then we are looking for a relationship between A and B, even if it is completely absent. If we logically see that this connection does not exist, then we take it for "magic" and instead of a conscious action A, we do a "ritual" A to get B. In fact, this is self-deception and does not work.
304  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 01, 2022, 03:03:29 PM
But I think that this is quite normal and even logical. Top boxers fight once a year (at best) and not every fight is interesting. It is difficult enough to be satisfied with such rare events. Unlike professional fights, show fights are almost guaranteed to provide entertainment and they can be held at least every week - literally as much as the public is willing to pay with their attention and money. The pandemic has popularized this type of entertainment, but this does not mean that at the end of the pandemic, the public should cool off for such fights.

There are still fans who wanted to see their former champ to fight inside the ring and promoters are taking advantage knowing that there's still ticket sales that they can convert each time they offer this kind of events. Even it's no longer the same crowd as with the pandemic but they can still collect a good amount of money for this kind of fights.

It's on the fans and the gamblers who are still thinking that they are willing to take that gamble and enjoy the fight.

You are right, and it doesn't really matter what a popular person does - his followers will look at it with interest anyway. If you take twitch, then the most popular streamers, no matter what they do - from just chatting to playing some kind of stupid game (not interesting to anyone if you don’t take into account who plays it) always collect a huge number of viewers. Similarly with these fights - legends are always interesting, even if they have grown old and cannot be competitive in purely professional sports.
305  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 01, 2022, 02:19:37 PM
Chelsea and Barcelona have reached an agreement for the transfer of Pierre Aubameyang, a transfer fee of £10 million plus Marcos Alonso to Barcelona, Aubameyang will fly to London once the paperwork is ready.

In addition to Aubameyang who moved to Chelsea, Barcelona have also released Sergino Dest to AC Milan on loan with an option to buy around €20 million. Sergino Dest will soon fly to Milan to finalize the signing of the contract.

Probably Chelsea agreed to this transfer under the influence of the latest results in the Premier League and decided that it would be better Aubameyang to be a forward than to play without attackers at all. It's probably a good deal for both clubs - Chelsea are getting a much-anticipated boost in attack and Barcelona are seriously improving their budget in terms of reducing spending on players.
306  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Commentary and commentators in sports. on: September 01, 2022, 01:45:24 PM
Is this topic related to gambling?  Grin I thought that you could somehow find a connection between sports commentators and sports betting. Grin
I watch football games and most commentators are kinda annoying. There are some good ones, who can be quite interesting, but most of them are biased and annoying. I got used to the football commentators and watching a game without sound is really weird. Having some noise adds more drama, I guess.

I think this topic is directly related to gambling. Personally, from my own experience, I will say that when I watch a game and an ordinary commentator comments on it, and as often there is an invited athlete, then from this guest I receive a lot of important information that helps in betting. Very often, the assessment of the athlete and the commentator do not match, because the athlete understands the game better and based on his opinion, I can better understand the chances of the teams, which means I can make more correct bets.
307  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it profitable to hedge/cashout bets before end of sport event? on: August 31, 2022, 10:22:31 AM
So far, there is no gambling place that provides this feature because when you have made a choice, the gambling place will lock the capital or money you use to gamble and can only make withdrawals when you get the results you win or lose, when you win then can make a profit withdrawal, but if you lose you will not get any results.

You probably haven't tried betting at all, or you've only tried it on some outdated bookmakers. Now this service is provided by all major bookmakers. Moreover, if you have made a choice and the event is still far away, then you can "cancel" the bet, that is, make a cashout for a rather small price - just a few percent of the bet. If during the game the result is in your favor, then you can cash out with a profit before the game is over.
308  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 31, 2022, 10:02:15 AM
I'm surprised that those kind of fights are still a thing, I could understand that when we were in the middle of the pandemic and there was almost no sports events being held all around the world and people were extremely hungry for anything that seemed to be even remotely related to sports then those kind of fights got incredibly popular, but now that we can see professionals boxers fighting at the top of their skill then I do not really see the point of those fights anymore.

309  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you think about the school lessons of gambling addiction? on: August 31, 2022, 09:34:29 AM

Given all this, do you think it's worth organizing separate lessons in schools designed to tell children about gambling addiction? That is, to tell children about gambling addiction separately from addiction in general - alcohol and drug addiction.

I think at school it is necessary to teach, first of all, the sciences, and parents should teach the ability to live. And by the way, I am against any ideology being imposed in schools (like we see now in some countries where crazy teachers tell children about their imaginary genders and sexual preferences). Gambling might be worth mentioning in the emergency response lessons (in my country it's called Life Safety), but it's not worth devoting an entire lesson to it.
310  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: August 31, 2022, 08:45:16 AM
The problem is that they even classify beverages such as Beer as "alcoholic drinks". Given the weather conditions in Qatar, I am sure that most of the fans would like to have a can or two of beer while watching the tournament. Qatar has all sort of restrictions, not just on alcohol but also on unmarried couples, LGBT people, non-halal food.etc. It will be interesting to see how they could make the fans happy without breaking or tweaking any of these restrictions. If there are complaints, then the reputation of entire Arab world will be tarnished.

Do you consider beer a non-alcoholic drink? This is very strange, since those people who do not drink alcohol regularly (for example, I) can get very drunk from two glasses of beer. As for restrictions and reputation, I do not think that it will suffer - those who went to Qatar were aware of local rules in advance.
I'm interested in something else - is the preparation for the championship completely completed? I haven't seen (maybe missed) any news about it. There are 80 days left before start.

Sassuolo 0 - 0 AC Milan

what an irritating game, I watched every game and I didn't see Milan playing well, it looked more like the Milan players didn't want to play, they weren't even trying hard to win the game. every time they attacked sassuolo it was something that i asked myself: " what the hell is milan got? " they couldn't even cause real danger to sassuolo, honestly if sassuolo hadn't missed that penalty they would win this game, today milan wouldn't it was fine and I lost money. It was a very good choice to bet on them.
-skip-

In fact, maybe an early goal (a penalty was awarded in the 22nd minute) would have mobilized Milan and they would have started playing as actively as possible from the very beginning and this would have brought them victory, no one knows. But in fact, it turned out that Milan dominated possession of the ball and nothing more. If you take shots on target, then Sassuolo is ahead - 3:2. I don't know how the game would have gone if Sassuolo had scored that penalty, but Milan didn't deserve to win today.
313  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] The Rematch - JOSHUA vs USYK II (updated thread) on: August 30, 2022, 06:35:29 PM
That is one opinion from one person (Garcia) who was employed to train Joshua therefore can he be neutral in what he is saying? I respect Joshua for the way he changed his fighting style to occupy the centre of the ring but in all honesty that was all he could do to have any chance of beating Usyk... but he failed.

Now for Garcia to say that round 10 was the game changer shows he is deluded. Usyk clearly won the fight with only a couple of debatable rounds where Joshua might have made a case to be ahead.

Garcia is biased of course, but the fact that in the 9th round AJ had an advantage and (seemed) was close to crushing Usyk, I think no one will argue. The problem is that apart from this mini-victory, AJ had nothing else and he lost the next three rounds outright. In general, taking into account the fact that we already have two fights in which Usyk convincingly won (in the first fight he generally declassed AJ), it makes no sense to talk about what the chances of AJ were and what he could count on. This is a stage already passed.
314  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: August 30, 2022, 05:56:59 PM
I have never doubted the talent that mbappe has either at the club or in his international career. he is a young star who has had a brilliant career. however, he has an attitude that we could call selfish.
This problem is often a dispute between the players both at the club and for the French squad. that's why i wouldn't say that france is on another level, in some games they are playing badly, their form is not so good. but I believe Didier Descamps has a way to make the French squad even more solid.

speaking of germany, so far germany has always been a favorite squad in every four-year soccer sporting event. this time they have a very tough job as some other countries are more favourites.
on the other hand, argentina is more ready to face the qatar world cup tournament, they are one of the strongest candidates in this tournament.

With Benzema back in the national team, I think he will be able to put Mbappe in his place and motivate him to play for the team and not just for himself. Benzema is a big authority and everyone has seen on social media that he is tough with Mbappe without hypocrisy or unnecessary softness. If Mbappe is even a little smart, he will be able to subdue his pride and play less selfishly than, for example, in the last game against Monaco, where he seemed to have not made a single pass in attack.
315  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: "The Lower-Risk Gambling Guidelines" Is this a joke? on: August 30, 2022, 05:19:32 PM
$58 per month LMAO! Okay, IIRC I advised people to bet a maximum of 10% of their income, but 1% is just too low. It won't even last one-hour playing penny slots in most cases.

It seems absurd to you, but from the point of view of the one who gives these tips, everything is logical: playing for a small amount of money, a person will not attach importance to this and this will help to avoid addiction.

Quote
Guideline 2: Gamble no more than 4 days per month
While I think once a week is reasonable, four days a month is too harsh. I mean, if there are five Saturdays in a month, you still get only four playing sessions. IMO the limit should be twice a week.

Twice a week is a huge number if you have a family and a regular job that takes 5 days a week. If you devote time to your wife, children, work, household chores, then 2 days a week for gambling is a lot. Perhaps this is advice for family people?

Quote
Guideline 3: Avoid regularly gambling at more than 2 types of games
IMO it's useless advice. Even if a gambler plays many types of games, it won't matter as long as he knows the limit, guidelines 1 & 2.

What do you think?

This is a controversial point, but I think its meaning is the same as in the previous points - to protect a person from addiction as much as possible.
316  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: August 29, 2022, 10:59:55 AM
PSG were really unlucky last night. They actually got a lot of chances and attacked very well, but they had a big problem in scoring goals. Shots from the post show how unlucky they are. It is very sad that they did not get 3 points from this match.
But I think the team's game is much better than before. Although they did not win the match this time, it was a good match to watch Smiley

I would not say that Monaco scored points due to luck. In fact, PSG only surpassed them in possession (which is not surprising given the composition of PSG) and shots wide of the goal. If you take shots on target, then the statistics are close: 5 - 3 in favor of PSG, but at the same time, PSG could only score a goal from the penalty spot. In fact, this game should be a wake-up call for Galtier, as the first team that managed not to fall apart, but played with discipline managed to defend a draw. There will be a lot of such teams in the Champions League.
317  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: August 29, 2022, 10:50:33 AM
The rivalry between Barcelona and Madrid is now peppered with Lewandowski and Benzema as the focus of their game.
Currently, the rivalry between Benzema and Lewandowski has begun in the hunt for the top score.
We all know that these two players were top scorers in La Liga and the Bundesliga last season so it will be interesting when they compete now.
regardless of age they are really going to go crazy again with their goals this season.

On this tour both made double but I think there is a possibility that someone will interfere in their fight for the top scorer - in previous games they both missed a lot of chances (especially Benzema who even started to resemble himself in the past when he had a lower scoring percentage). If, for example, Atlético find their game, then Morata can be on an equal footing with them, as may be other pronounced central strikers from Celta and Betis.
318  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Infographics] Does Football Betting Pay Off? on: August 29, 2022, 10:30:00 AM
the real question it should be... how much they win? These percentage of people betting what are achieving?
Some times ago I have found some data that shows that a good gambler can earn 8% from the total wagering of one year.
I am pretty curious to see the real data about these wins ... Roll Eyes

This is a question that cannot be answered, it is meaningless. If you take all the betters, then in total they are the losers (it cannot be otherwise - the bookmaker always wins with a large number of bets made). If you take the top 1% of the most successful, then the fact that they are in the black (if they are in the black) does not mean that they were able to "earn" by betting. This suggests that with a large number of events, according to the law of normal distribution, some of the events will lie outside the area of "expected" results. Roughly speaking, out of a trillion (or quadrillion) playing the lottery, someone will win several times in a row, but this will not mean that he "earns" on the lottery.

I assume that this podium is the summary of this race.

Red Bull were dominant during the whole race and the result wasn't surprising at all after that. Verstappen gained many positions at the beginning of the race already. But even if he didn't his pace was so high that he would still win the race. It looks like I was unnecessarily positive about Sainz to win this.  Cheesy  I just didn't expect Ferraris to stay this much slow. Leclerc had some problems in this race also which didn't surprise me even a bit. Sainz was the only hope but he was even struggling to stay ahead of Russell in the last moments. What a horrible race for Ferrari!

Perhaps this is the most depressing race for all the competitors of Red Bull. Verstappen started in 14th place and won by such a huge margin. It seems that at this point the season can be considered completed. The competitors have had enough time to improve their level but it seems that Red Bull has stepped up and the rest have not been able to achieve anything. Now, even if competitors make some improvements, it is impossible to win back such an advantage (in terms of points and technical superiority).
