301  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Virtual Community Exchange w/ Options, DRIP, 2FA, API, CSV, etc. on: July 17, 2013, 01:42:05 PM
I absolutely love BTC-TC, congratulations on the amazing site! I was wondering though, is there any way to setup BTC-TC so that users could opt-in for e-mails about new securities (and for Litecoin Global too)? I think Havelock Investments does the same thing and it's really awesome to get updated with new securities.

very good idea Cheesy
302  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is TradeFortress breaking the law? on: July 15, 2013, 04:27:21 PM
The problem comes into play because he deals with Americans and he is not registered to do so.  That is illegal.  Anyone offering banking services to an American must follow American law.  This is why mtgox recently stopped paying out USD to Americans... because doing so is illegal when you are not registered.  in other words they chose to STOP breaking the law.  Unless/until TF does the same he is likely criminal actor.

The long arm of America recently forced the highly secret Swiss government to give up all their illegal relationships and end anonymity.  If an entire government cannot stop the USA then TF has no chance.

MtGox stopped because their payment processor could no longer process payments for Americans on their behalf. It had nothing to do with what MtGox did or did not want to do. It had to do what their American bank accounts were taking part in. Since the accounts were in the United States, of course our government had jurisdiction.

TF is not using a United States bank account for his transactions, nor any bank at all as a matter of fact. Therefore, again, you are bringing in irrelevant facts.

Man, that is a mess... USA is trying to spread their law outside of their borders, but it is totally against international law. Anyone can accept deposits from US people without any problem. The only problem comes out when that entity wants as well to trade on US stock markets. Thatīs the reason why Swiss banks cooperate now about their US clients. Couse in the case they will not provide informations to US, they could be cut from US stock markets, bond market, commodities etc. It is only reason. Otherwise everybody could say to mr. Obama and his fascist establishment just "FUCK OFF".

As I understand it US law applies outside the USA if Americans are involved. A few years ago a Dutch DJ was extradited to the US and served time there for selling drugs to an American in the Netherlands. Yes the Netherlands extradites its own citizens for offences committed in the Netherlands.

Also "aliens" (non US-ians) have no rights in the American court system. So you are basically f-d if you land in their clutches.  Roll Eyes

yes, you understand it good. It is a nonsense at all, dangerous precedence as we all made some crime, at least when prism and similar programs collect our emails, statuses on social network etc. I think every person commit about 3 crimes a day in developed world. it is very sad that law, which should protect people mostly against its governement, destroyed the princilples of old Romanian or common law and we live in a world of... canīt find word which would suit. Only vulgar :-D

It's their own freedom of choice to sell .0001 cheaper than the wall,
but the REAL idiots are those people who have sell orders right AFTER the wall, at .0026, etc.
Can you imagine, all the work and time it takes to buy up all the issued shares, only to have your shares eaten back up so that you can make a measly .0001 extra profit?

LOL.  The stupidity is unbelievable.  Maybe some people don't realize that Bitfunder and BTCT actually share the same bottleneck right now (about 1.8 million shares @ .0025).

Wannabe daytraders, basically.

probably some kinds of automatic trading, canīt believe anybody else would do it

310  Economy / Securities / Re: Active Mining Speculation Thread on: July 12, 2013, 02:57:56 PM
I think it is not competition between Asicminer and ActiveMining... I own both, looking forward for steady dividends and slow capital valuation... but i would prefer not to have dividends on Wednesday, as it would be too much for one day  Wink maybe Tuesday or Thursday instead?
311  Economy / Auctions / Re: /AUCTION/ OF AVALON CLONE 85 Gh/s BY BITMINE.CH on: July 12, 2013, 02:52:47 PM
just got information from Christian from Bitmine... they should receive chips from Avalon in the middle of this month /maybe next week/, so device could be shipped early August... with current difficulty it is much better to be 1 or 2 month earlier, than wait for BFL or other devices... any offer over 100BTC? Escrow is OK

Ive been keeping an eye on these guys for a bit, and before buying stocks, I was curious how this system works with the end user .

I just bought a membership, after paying the $1.99 and sending a copy of my ID, I was verified.

Unfortunately, they appear to be out of stock of Bitcoins right now. To me, a business that is constantly out of stock, will never turn a profit. These guys definitely have a great business model, but they have some kinks to work out. So it really depends if you have faith in the people running it.

i would look more positive to it like a shareholder. Company, which is out of stock is better than company with full stock with negative cashflow... it means growth to me. but surely, it is management failure in some way, so we need to see an improvement in near future

Its doesnt need to be failure in any way, I think they just got blown away with their estimates because of the last days buys of BTC. Iam pretty sure stock of BTC was higher.

surely it could happen that way, but personally i would take it like my failure if it would happen in my company  Wink

We ran out of stock because we did double out daily average... All I can say is that people seem to love us and they are sharing us with all their friends which is a good thing.

Congrats!

The dividends will be shit anyway.  Last time I got paid about $25 for having 200,000 shares.  Dividends are pointless anyway until something actually happens with this company.. so why do people care so much?

bitcoin community is dividend dividend addict Wink

really interesting stuff. keep us updated. Smiley

will do, I plan to update this daily and say whats happening, transparency is our #2 priority, after profit for our investors of course  Roll Eyes

we're currently in talks with Marco Santori about our REIT options in the USA, the reason we want to form as an REIT is we receive major tax breaks, an REIT that returns 90% of all net income to its shareholders through dividend payments or asset appreciation pays 0% tax, unlike a conventional corporation who would be subject to large corporation tax which could be up to 45% or more. We theoretically could do this as a normal corporation, however the profit margins would be considerably less as all investors will be subjected to double tax, we don't want that Tongue

Why do you incorporate offshore company instead all those complicated and too regulated entities? Transparency is fine, but all those REITs and other options look like it is more a barrier to enter the market than anything else

Filing as an offshore company could work for a short term investment for us, however we anticipate being in business for the long term, which means that we want to set it up right the first time, an REIT is a registered company which will be doing exactly what we plan to do, just we do it in Bitcoin rather than the conventional fiat investing unitholder.

In short: we don't want to play around with things that could work, we want to do it right, the first time, even if it takes a little longer to get the i's dotted and the T's crossed.

I understand, I work for a company incorporating offshore IBCs, there is still good option to incorporate UAE /Dubai for example/ company, but still it is probably not what you are looking for. But if REIT would work for bitcoin currency, then it is a big step

I'll take a look and pass the idea off to my partner, but yes from what we've been able to see we shouldn't have any serious problems with unit-holders investing via bitcoin, as long as we are below the radar of AML legislation (sub $10k per person, per day), we should in theory not need a ridiculous amount of personal information on our investors.

OK, good luck, I will follow your progress, if there is anything i could help, just PM me. Anyway, I am from Europe, so it is pretty different here and North America is over regulated in my view, but we are following slowly US way  Wink
