307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 11, 2013, 08:05:46 PM
limit of 200 upgrade units. so is this 28TH total? is my math right if each unot is 140 Gh/s ?
28 Th/s would be a drop in a bucket...

Agreed.  The Nov preorders will be two orders of magnitude more.  It is likely the "left overs".  They ordered so many hosts, cases, etc, used their inventory of parts to build the Sept/Oct/Nov orders and they came up with 200 extra boards.  Sell off the lot.  Why not? The value of ASICs goes down over time.  Why wait for the next batch just sell them off for less?

It was always the case of what volume of RMAs would occur once shipping commenced being an unknown. Also if there was to be any yield issue beyond firmware, so there was in essence a float of modules kept.

Now that's complete, the surpless can be sold as the promised upgrades, and priced fairly.

I do not doubt mods will occur, it's inevitable, and if all our boards start mysteriously dying of a similar symptom not present in our own they will be inspected for signs of stress, and if found to have been consequence of unofficial modding, then obviously RMA will be invalid.

Latter revisions of boards will undoubtedly be pushed harder as we learn the loads the chip is capable of, the chip itself is not the issue, but the boards themselves will require supporting components to undergo continuous revision.

Isn't 144GH/s per chip the maximum possible? I thought you can't push it faster because of the way it's built.

144ghs is the max based on each core running at 750mhz. if this was pushed higher, the hashrate could go way up.

you should look to run the PSU at 80% of its max rating, because thats where they tent to have the highest power efficiency percentage.   Do not buy a 1250w and run it at 600w for example as this will have a lower efficiency.  if your power draw is around 600w get a 750w.

I highly recommend the XFX 750 Pro (not core edition)
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/750w-xfx-pro-black-edition-p1-750b-befx-full-modular-80-plus-gold-90-eff-eps-12v-sli-crossfire-1x120?utm_source=google+shopping&utm_medium=cpc&gclid=CKHc8JzJ2roCFVMbtAodNVgAGw

It is badged XFX but is made by seasonic (who also make corsair) but a lot cheaper.

Unless you intend to upgrade in the future that is. then go for a bigger PSU.

You are mistaken. Highest efficiency is at 50% load.

sorry thats a myth that wont die. its simply untrue.

Bear raid on the coin price on a Saturday night US, and Europe Sunday morning when a lot of people are out, and about, or asleep is a bit naughty! Undecided

c'mon upgrade info!
315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 09, 2013, 09:27:05 PM
Yes, that is a very good PSU with high efficiency.
Btw KNC warned not to use HX850 as it supplies too much current and it can kill your miner, but I think AX850 is a safe choice.
Do you have it or you plan on buying it?

If I were you I will get the recommended by KNC: Coolermaster V850. I got 2 and they are good.

I plane to buy.
What do you recommend for the saturn?
Thanks for your help

just a heads up, saturn is out of stock

319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 08, 2013, 11:49:47 PM
The good news is that november Jupiter and Saturn's are no longer available.

According to the website.

Jupiter are available. Only 49 units left.

where you see that?

Add 5000 to you basket.

once again, this number means nothing. its not literally 49 left.....
