301  Local / India / Re: Anand Mahindra Hints at Bitcoin Payment for Mahindra Cars on: April 23, 2023, 05:06:51 PM
A random Twitter user had asked Mr. Mahindra about buying Mahindra cars using Bitcoin. His reply has now gone viral among the Indian crypto community.

What do you guys think?

In my opinion, his response meant that he will consider Bitcoin as a payment in the future. Which is a positive development for the Bitcoin community in India.

There was a time when you could have bought any car in India using Bitcoin. I came across an article on Cartorq that was published in 2018 about a startup named Truebi (a used car marketplace) accepting Bitcoin as a payment option for buying a used car. I am not sure whether they still offer the same service.
I don't think he is talking in terms of his consideration for it as a payments means. What I felt more is he is confident about the general acceptability that bitcoin might attain in coming years. Because if eventually bitcoin buyers become too many and they get that bargaining power in their hands eventually every company has to start it as a mode of payments. My personal aim also here is not that you could buy a car using bitcoin, it's about normalising the notion of buying things with bitcoin.
302  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the US economy in recession? on: April 23, 2023, 05:04:33 PM
The economic data of the US is clearly showing a two consecutive negative GDP growth rate. While some analysts believe that the economy is in a recession, economic advisers are saying there is no major decline in economic activities.

What are the core elements of a recession?

How do we quantify a recession?
I think theoretical definition of recession is this only whatever you said but practically it's not necessary that all the symptoms of a recession will be visible in this scenario. Chances are that only a few signs might be visible or chances are no signs might be visible in a lot of sectors. Sometimes even stock markets also don't resonate to this because eventually stock market also take in consideration future aspirations which might appeal good. So recession is honestly a set of too many vague scenarios.
303  Economy / Economics / Re: Retirement Age for Workers - Does this Make Sense? on: April 23, 2023, 04:59:50 PM
Quote
France's Constitutional Council on Friday approved an unpopular plan to raise the retirement age from 62 to 64, in a victory for President Emmanuel Macron after three months of mass protests over the legislation that have damaged his leadership.
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/france-retirement-age-raise-64-approved-constitutional-council/

This so-called measure has several benefits and drawbacks. The elder employees can benefit from their years of experience if they are retained on the job for longer, which is one advantage. The drawback of this is that many workplaces will report low performance because there is an inverse relationship between a person's success at work and their deterioration in cognitive and physical capacities.

Regardless, what I think is that the government shouldn't shove it down the throat of people. Workers who are approaching retirement age should be given a choice after appraisal to keep working or retire.

What sense does this make? Would you agree or disagree?

I think this issue is much larger than just this. This issue is more about how will these changes shape the economy of this country. Because if you see the burden of payments to be made to retired personnel has eat up a lot of GDP. This has to be paid by the people eventually and therefore this additional 2 years will help government cover that. Not to forget the most important aspect that as less number of people retire there would be less opportunities available for the youth as well.

Mumbai indian vs Punjab Kings
Exciting match to watch between Mumbai indian and Punjab because both scored dozen of runs with a magnificent knocks. Despite of bad start from Punjab opener but later Thier middle order bang the opponent with bundle of sixes and some how they manage to scored a big target of 214 with a half century of S.Curran. Rohit captain of Mumbai scored decent runs but not too long, while C.green ,SKY and tim David try hard to get the rithm and chase the required target but some unbelievable delivery from A.Singh crashed Thier batting lineup and get the game from the mouth of Mumbai win.
I still believe PBKS aren't really bringing their best combination to the field. They won this match because their batters in death were able to score well, which has already been a pain for PBKS. Happy to see Jitesh Sharma being a constant contributor for the team now. He was in team for so long now with zero impactful knocks.
305  Local / India / Re: 18 Countries and Counting! on: April 22, 2023, 09:15:21 PM
What do you mean INR is acceptable in these countries? I am confused because I don't think any of these countries accept it in their country. Can you please help me with more references on this.

Yes, you can now do INR transactions in these 18 countries. I am not sure whether UPI transactions can be made but you can use your Indian debit card to make payments in INR in these countries. I do not think CBDC will be used for global purposes in the beginning. It is too early to discuss about it now.
Honestly I am still pretty much confused as to what this article also means. I mean for me being used in any country means it's accepted in government offices or atleast major banks in these countries. Other than this if we are doing export transaction with these countries in INR I don't count it as 18 countries Using INR as two things are very different from each other.
306  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: IS IT SAFE TO INVEST PENSION FUNDS IN BITCOIN? on: April 22, 2023, 09:11:20 PM

I spoke to a friend about Bitcoin and he asked if it is safe to invest Pension funds in Bitcoin considering the fact that this is a retirement saving. I am skeptical of investing people's funds in this coin because it can't be predicted also we cannot overlook the fact that Bitcoin may enhance investment returns at retirement.
However, my findings from people that work in these organizations say contributor's funds in some categories can be invested in risky investments because of the high return on investment and contributors have the option to opt for this option but with the exception of the soon-to-retiree.
Ideally pension funds are the safest funds. There is absolutely minimal risk in these funds especially when they are regulated by government as well. So obviously they are a good investment option for anyone who is looking for a good return. Also regulated invested funds like pension funds also make sure the overall split of the money of the pension fund is correctly allocated as per regulated norms. Obviously this doesn't guarantee zero risk but yes does Gujarat minimal risk.
307  Economy / Economics / Re: it's so risky! on: April 22, 2023, 09:09:13 PM
I don't invest money easily in any asset because of fear of losing that money. i think of investing 80% of total savings.
do taking risk is important or not?

please quote all question and answer it's very helpful for me and others.
See I think you should probably invest all of your savings it's just that you should make an adequate split into the correct investment. Go with very safe investments for the 30-40% of your money so that there is absolutely zero risk on that money or a very minimal risk.

For CSK everything helped, while SRH failed in batting. With a target of 134 runs it is really hard for the bowlers, because they will be in a situation whether to go for wickets or focus on restricting the scoring.
If any team restrict the scoring of runs then it will quite naturally built pressure and thereby wickets will start to fall and every captain in T20 will be thinking of a dream scenario of restricting the scoring of runs and you need exceptional bowling to defend small targets and with a strong batting lineup like CSK it is an impossible task to create an improbable solution  Grin.
Looked like such an easy game for CSK this time. I think SRh has to gather a lot of things together in this IPL moving forward. They are too dependent on just a couple of foreign players and this makes their team inconsistent as they will perform only when these players perform. Brook and Markaram are in such position in the team right now. Earlier it was David Warner and Kane Williamson in this place.

Lately I have been hearing a lot of countries have accepted INR for foreign trade but it is not the same as this.
310  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Essential one to new traders in Crypto currency on: April 21, 2023, 09:36:11 PM
Every day some people get into the crypto currency trading. They come to know about cryptocurrency from their friends or relatives. They start trading with some capital and when the bear market comes, their balance will be reduced some value. After seeing a small loss, they will cash out the money and fly from crypto currency trading. The following steps will help such new people to avoid loss from the crypto currency trading.

1.Crypto currency is not a stock market trading, you need to wait longer period as compared to the stock market. In stock, you can earn 5% in short period, but in crypto it take short or longer based on the market flow.

2.You have to learn trading by using a little amount of dollars in practical experience. You should not consider such money as loss. After you learn trading, you can earn 10-20x of the loss money.

3.Stock market will give you profit lesser as compared to crypto currency. You can earn 10-30x of investments by investing on potential crypto currency. You should ready to hold till the expected profit had gained into your wallet.

4.Holding for longer period with some patience is most essential one in crypto currency trading.Because the market flow is purely based on the demand and investment to the cryptocurrency. It may vary on every quarter of the year, mostly it started to increase after the first quarter.Mostly after the month of April in every year.

5.When the market volatility is high, the market flow will be maximum. You can get profit at any point of the market flow.If you are ready to hold for the longer period, the profit would be maximum then you had expected from your investment.
Main difference i feel from stock market is the volatility as it's crazy high in Cryptos as compared to stocks. Moreover you have sellers freeze and buy freeze there you don't have any such things in Cryptos. The seller freeze make sure that market doesn't gets an infinite dump in a day just because of a bad news or even sometimes fake news. Also i think having expecting 10-20x returns from Cryptos is also very unrealistic. I think one should have a target of 10-20% increase per month, nothing more than that. 10-20x is a thing that happens once in blue moon.
311  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any benefit of bitcoin to the government? on: April 21, 2023, 09:33:53 PM
Bitcoin has benefits to us, it is why we speak positive about it and support it because if bitcoin was in no way of benefit to us, supporting it will be difficult maybe like the government. Maybe we have all been selfish and just been discussing the benefits that bitcoins have offered us and not how it has also benefitted the government too. Is the government a part of the benefit list of bitcoins, is there any benefit that bitcoin offers to the government? If your answer is "no benefit", do you think that it could be a reason why the government do not support bitcoin? If your answer is "yes, but not enough benefit", do you think they are just ignoring the benefits to them and focusing more on the benefits to the people which is making them angry?

To the traditional government? Mostly no as Bitcoin means decentralisation and government will always be against that so obviously no government would benefit from it. Only way government could benefit from it is when they make their own chain and make sure that everything and everyone is regulated by them. Then it's a perfect scenario for them as they can even track people and they can even make sure that all source of money can be identified. Basically CBDC work on this concept only however obviously it's not decentralised.

Royal Challengers Bengalore  vs  Punjab Kings

Against Bengaluru, Punjab won the toss and took the fielding decision. The Punjab team won 3 out of 5 matches and Bengaluru won 2 out of 5 matches. The Bengaluru team has experienced batsmen like Kohli, du Plessis, Maxwell and Dinesh Karthik but this team's performance is quite poor. Especially the performance of their bowlers is very poor. If Bengaluru's bowlers can't play well in today's match then Bengaluru will not be able to win today. I would say Bengaluru's win or loss will depend on the performance of their bowlers.
Royal Challengers Bangalore won today's match by 24 runs. Royal Challengers Bangalore batted first and set a target of 174 runs in 20 overs. Virat Kohli played well in batting today. Virat Kohli was dismissed for 59 runs off 47 balls.  Challengers Bangalore team played very well from batting to bowling for which Royal Challengers Bangalore won the match.
KXIP needs Dhawan back desperately. Also they need to revamp their side as well, we see everytime they make bad selections in auctions, they are bold and expensive but not always correct. If you see there is no single batsmen in the full KXIP line up who is a dependable long innings batsmen. As Dhawan got injured their whole batting line up is collapsing. Infact they are themselves experimenting so much with foreign players also that looks as if they are confused. I think Choice is pretty simple for them. You go with Sam Curran, Rajapaksa, Raza and Short/ Livingston in your line up. Sam Curran is a death bowling specialist, even I consider zero contri from him in batting, i have no regrets because he bowls so well. With Raza and Rajapaksa you get two dependable long innings in form batsmen and with Short/ Livingstone you get a pinch hitter as well. Once Shikhar is back, on paper it's so easy for them to make a team.
313  Economy / Economics / Re: Scarcity and scale of preference on: April 20, 2023, 08:44:42 PM
I do not think that this saying is correct. When our requirements were primitive, man discovered wood, which was burned to obtain fire and the beginning of energy. After the needs increased, coal appeared, including steam locomotives and internal combustion engines. Then oil appeared and the aviation industry developed. Therefore, when human needs increase, resources develop in return. necessary to cover these needs.

I remember 100 years ago, people did not know about oil, and even when it appeared, they were not aware of this wealth, so the next wealth may be close or even outside the planet. Wink
Actually this statement is the basis of all the development. This saying itself means what you are saying. That human wants keeps on increasing. As we grow further, we Bring in new resources and then use those resources to create new wants. This actually is basis on which whole economics is based and how most of the major governments drive their economic decisions. So correct or not this saying exists in every part of our world
314  Economy / Economics / Re: Tokenization of Real-World Assets on: April 20, 2023, 08:36:21 PM
https://www.coindesk.com/business/2023/04/14/tokenization-of-real-world-assets-a-key-driver-of-digital-asset-adoption-bank-of-america/
“Tokenized gold provides exposure to physical gold, 24/7 real-time settlement, no management fees and no storage or insurance costs.” The low minimum investment increases accessibility and “fractionalization enables the transfer of physical gold ownership and value that was not previously possible,” analysts Alkesh Shah and Andrew Moss wrote.

___
I want to comment on this Just the physical gold requires the cost of storage, security, insurance, and who will do it for free? Isn't it a scam that investors will trade virtual ETF tokens, but legally there will be no claims against the bank?
I think obviously legally there will be claims against the bank for the gold that they have tokenized. But the problem of storage fees can be solved by transaction processing reward. If we bring a blockchain based system, in every transaction the gold storing person also gets some kick backs and certain portion goes to transaction approver. I don't know exactly how it could work but this is a preposition. If they are just some coins in the air there is no point of bringing such a thing altogether.
315  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your most effective crypto trading strategies? on: April 20, 2023, 08:33:16 PM
Cryptocurrency trading can be both exciting and daunting at the same time, especially for those who are just starting out. There are several trading strategies that traders use to buy and sell cryptocurrencies, manage risk, and maximize profits. In this discussion, let's share our most effective crypto trading strategies and learn from each other.

Questions to consider:

1: What trading strategies have worked for you in the past?
2: How do you manage risk when trading cryptocurrencies?
3: What are some indicators or tools that you use to inform your trading decisions?
4: How do you deal with market volatility and sudden price swings?
5: How do you set your buy and sell orders?
6: What advice do you have for new traders who are just starting out?

Let's have a productive discussion and share our knowledge and experience with each other; Thank You
1. Exceptionally well in some types of market but can give adverse results when market shifts.
2. Risk management can be done through accurate sizing of each trade and risk reward management.
3. Earlier it was RSI, MA bands and some what Bollinger bands. Now I use quantitative data much more than just these.
4. Stop losses generally deal with such things but yes sometimes these things can be pretty bad on your portfolio that's why even with stop loss accurate sizing of trade is important.
5. Manually so far.
6. If you are in for money don't do it. If you are in love with trading and watching charts only then continue.
316  Economy / Economics / Re: The Impact of Climate Change on the Financial World Where Will the Crypto World? on: April 16, 2023, 09:03:44 PM
As we face the harsh reality of struggling to fulfill even our basic needs, it's becoming increasingly difficult to ignore the growing impact of climate change. This raises a pressing question: what will be the consequences of climate change on the financial world, and what might be in store for the future of the crypto industry?

In light of these challenges, it's important to consider the potential implications and prepare for the potential changes that may be on the horizon.
I think climate change will make companies more responsive to environmental needs as you already see ESG reporting becoming mandatory in most of the countries. Eventually you'll see more such initiatives propping up. Also companies will make sure they are giving back to nature atleast enough as compared to what they are taking from it. I also feel a lot of products around climate change control could also kick in. Coming to crypto world, we have already seen some of the effects of it. A few countries have banned mining citing climate change as reason, this will obviously make POW concept much less usable in future.
317  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Technical analysis a must know in crypto trading? on: April 16, 2023, 08:58:57 PM
Hello everyone am new here, more like a trader that got by with a bit of knowledge through personal experience (success and failure's) since 2020 but got introduced to this forum by a friend, pointing out that I can find information's and be able to communicate with other enthusiast in the crypto market. I look forward to my experience here.
P.S I have really poor knowledge on bitcoin technicalities, am more of the chart reading and gut feeling type. so I hope am not breaking any of the rules posting here.
Was really curious to understand if technical analysis is vital or just a means to reduce risk. Thanks in advance
Technical analysis is a basic requirement for any type of market trading on exchanges. It gives you historical data and is based on the fact that history repeats itself, so yes it's essential. Unless we are in a bull run and all the coins are going up, in such a case you'll see trading of little use as no matter where you put your money it's going up only.
318  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Premier League #IPL on: April 16, 2023, 08:56:35 PM
The current match between GT and RR is highly suspenseful as GT has set a target of 177 runs and RR who are currently batting, have a score of 138/16.2. As a cricket enthusiast, it's always thrilling to make guesses about which team will come out on top. You have mentioned some interesting points such as RR's previous match where Buttler had a brilliant performance but couldn't find luck this time. Samson has been performing well with a half-century despite a slow start of 32/60. Padikkal has also been making efforts for a good performance although RR's position in the match was challenging. Though the match is now in the final stages and we'll have to see how it unfolds.
After 12 overs when RR were at 66 for 4 no one were thinking they can do business like this Hetmyer done amazing job in last eight overs and turn the tables in their favor what a batsman and what a display of batting by this amazing player in death overs.

After having few early loses things were looking difficult, but Samson built good foundation for the RR which helps Hetmyer for having a win like this from defending champions in this style amazing game of cricket between two quality teams which have services of the best players in this business now after this win RR at the top of the table with eight overs which they have from five matches and no team going to challenge them for this spot in next round.
I almost thought that this is an impossible chase for RR after seeing the initial overs but eventually tables really turned altogether. I feel dew obviously is a major factor in these type of matches and you'll often see such drastic twists in matches where dew is in play. Because at the end the ball doesn't grips so bowling level goes way down. Just like in the last over I didn't expect Rashid Khan would go for such a six. But yes all credits to Samson and Hetmyr it looked as if these two were playing on a different pitch than the rest.
319  Local / India / Re: What happens next? on: April 15, 2023, 05:57:44 PM
They first did a shadow ban. We, as in the community took it to the Supreme Court and got justice. Next, they were confused as to how to stop us!

They came up with a crypto tax as we all know. It did gave us a jolt that made some of us leave. Later we got more clarity on tax because of @webtricks. Two topics that gave us a clarification on the tax law.

1. TDS on Cryptocurrencies [Explained]
2. Tax on Crypto Trading as per New Tax Law - Explained

What do you think will be the next move? Will it be a new tax law to suck the blood out of us or will be it against the local exchanges & international exchanges. If you have anything on your mind then go on and reply.

They are already doing their next move. They are talking about this issue in international forums like G20 and other international conferences and making sure to create a unanimous opinion about Cryptocurrencies among major developed and developing economies because only this will allow them to actually execute a complete ban on cryptos otherwise the ban would just be on paper and not in reality.
320  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Premier League #IPL on: April 15, 2023, 05:49:39 PM
I am feeling that PBKS might again miss it after going so close to the win. If you see history of Punjab, this has been a routine for them. They lose winning matches and therefore eventually end up in middle of the table with just 1-2 wins away from the playoffs. This is the reason they also don't have a very good NRR. I don't if it's the franchise curse, bad team management or just coincidence.
