301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCap.com - Market Cap Rankings of All Cryptocurrencies! on: March 30, 2014, 12:44:06 AM
Great work on indicating which coins are heavily premined, you'll save new investors a lot of money.

I really like this feature too. It's great for letting people know which new coin is premined and which is not.
302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fair share of coins on: March 30, 2014, 12:40:34 AM
What happens when doge is almost completely mined?

Do you think the small amount of mineable coins they will allow for inflation each year will attract enough miners to secure the blockchain?
303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Just so you guys know, altcoins isn't the reason for bitcoins price dropping on: March 30, 2014, 12:36:30 AM
I'm not an expert, but I think it's only 20% and you can offset $3000 of losses against next year's bill. At least that's what someone else on these forums said.
304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Just so you guys know, altcoins isn't the reason for bitcoins price dropping on: March 30, 2014, 12:30:28 AM
I'm new, but I thought bitcoin was dropping because of the US tax man classifying it as liable to capital gains tax and the Chinese banning exchanges from doing business with Chinese banks.
305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fair share of coins on: March 30, 2014, 12:27:29 AM
I doubt many early adopters are still holding their coins.

many early adopters (especially those who mined) do still hold, those in it to make bitcoin a true currency, kinda defeats the whole purpose if you trade it for fiat (but thats lost on most people here nowadays).

i've been in cryptos awhile and i personally don't trade for fiat (what seems crazy in short term pays off in the long as its more crazy to trade a deflationary currency for an inflationary one).

those who weren't in it for the fiat are the ones who (on paper) are now worth more then those who where Wink

Do you hold large amounts of bitcoins you mined in the early days?

nope, anytime I've got decent amounts of btc I trade them for ltc and other alts, but ltc is my biggest holdings (basically the choice between being a moderate holder of btc or one of the largest ltc and other alts holder). I've never been a huge miner most my holding come from trading.

I read a thread from about a year ago where a guy predicted litecoin would shoot up in value and be a better investment than bitcoin.

I'm pleased to hear from someone else who did well from litecoin investing.

It gives me hope for the future.
306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Particle media wallet BETA1 version released publicly today on: March 29, 2014, 11:36:40 PM
I'm not sure, but you usually have to unlock an encrypted wallet to stake coins. Mintcoin works like that anyway. I have not tried this new particle wallet yet.

308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MINT]Mintcoin, Energy Saving Coin *23 Exchanges *34 Merchants on: March 29, 2014, 11:28:00 PM
anyone here wil 10 million MINT or more?

who has the most here?

Well the dev premined 3% of MINT so I would imagine he most of it.

But wasn't there talk of him dumping it all on the market? That would explain why he wasn't able to tell us what he spent any of it on?

This just proves to everyone that reads your post that you know NOTHING about Mintcoin. It is CLEARLY posted at the beginning of this thread that there was only a 1% premine.

When people like you come here and post such rubbish trying to cause FUD, all it does is show that there are people like you that are AFRAID of what a TRUE crypto currency is going to accomplish. Maybe go back under that bridge you crawled out from under and troll someplace other than here, your infantile attemps are useless here.

Yup this is the same guy who was trying to say Mintcoin is pure PoS and therefore shares the same possible vulnerabilities of BC  Roll Eyes

-possible as in no known vulnerabilities at this time, but since pure PoS is so new its security is not as tried and tested

The dev premined more than 1% because the PoW ended early due to PoS blocks being calculated along with the PoW blocks, taking their slots.

The total amount of coins is not changed, he still mined 1% of total coin supply although it is more of the current supply due to what you just said.

Edit: doesn't really matter to me either way. What matters is how the premine is used and so far I can't complain about what the dev has gotten accomplished in the short amount of time this coin has been around.

The dev used the premine to make mint one of the most popular coins in a very short space of time. I doubt it would be as popular without all his hard work that he needed the premine to fund.
309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Ultrafast 6 second transactions!! on: March 29, 2014, 11:22:09 PM

if you point out UTC is dropping its agaisnt the rules

coin prices go up, coin prices go down, swings and roundabouts, simple as, keep it to facts and so will I.  The lower it drops for now, the more BTC I throw at it to buy.  BTC is dropping, so are most other alts, in the scheme of things, it means nothing, it will rise again when bitcoin does  Grin

Each time bitcoin prices peak they are loads higher than the last time, and the same goes for the alt coin prices. I'm sure ultracoin is a good long term investment.
310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] H2O Coin | *Adaptive -N* & *DGW* }RE-LAUNCH{ 29/3/2014 - 9PM GMT+1 on: March 29, 2014, 11:16:18 PM

Does this mean there is going to be another re-launch or is it not a problem?

Just mine on other pools, everything is ok.

Thanks
311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread on: March 29, 2014, 11:06:34 PM
It looks like NEM will be bigger than Nxt if the templates are anything to go by!
312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PROBE] Rare,Exotic QRK Algo+PoS+KGW *NO PREMINE* Only 3.9M URGENT: 0.8.9.2 on: March 29, 2014, 11:03:58 PM
Here is my story. I had wallet stuck at 14735, same as jcpbs. I've deleted all files (except wallet.dat ofc) in my "..\AppData\Roaming\PROBE" and restarted wallet with PROBE.conf from kondiomir:
Quote
daemon=1
server=1
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcuser=xxx
rpcpassword=xxx
rpcport=8674
port=8675
maxconnections=100
addnode=probe.cpu-pool.net
addnode=62.210.123.27
addnode=192.241.240.148
My wallet then synced with network, which I guess is the main one (cpu-pool, block explorer and, probably, nxt-e; block 15420 atm). So, I guess this way should work for everyone, if done properly.
BUT! All of my coins were in "Stake" line before restart, and now I lost them all (Balance = Stake = 0). I still have a list of old, confirmed transactions to my wallet, but i don't think that this coins will ever come back from the wrong fork.

Any comment on this?

P.S. Let's keep this nice coin alive.

If nothing else works you could try using pywallet.

http://h20.hashkings.com is on the proper fork!! mine with us now!!

what is the proper fork? hashing.at or dedicated??
hashing.at found all the blocks in their fork in the last minutes, so they are wrong.

Sorry for the n00b question, but does this mean any coins earned at hashing.at are now no good ?

FWIW, xhash.net looks good (I'm just comparing the block they are on and the block from the getinfo command)

I think the fork started at about block 320, so anything before then should be OK

I'm off to bed now, hope everything is OK in the morning

Does this mean there is going to be another re-launch or is it not a problem?
314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: To Coin Devs, Please make a coin with a decent name on: March 29, 2014, 10:47:22 PM
I've been noticing all these new coins coming on out on the Alt Coin Announcement Sub Forum, and guess what they all have in common? Shit Names.

Seriously, dev...at least give your coin a decent name...Shit names are what deter me from even bothering to mine your coins, maybe it's just me..but I wouldn't be able to stand mining a coin with a name like, MadaraUchihaCoin.

Please.

Thankfully the coins with the worst names often die pretty quickly, but there is always the exception to the rule.
315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] THE COLOSSUSCOIN 2.0 IPO AND WHITEPAPER on: March 29, 2014, 10:44:35 PM
I'm reserving a spot on the IPO.

317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Next dogecoin rise? on: March 29, 2014, 10:37:45 PM
sold at 137, $900 profit.

Lucky you for selling at the exact high spot. Tell me, how did you arrive at this sell point? Did you have an order already to go or did you somehow know it wasn't going higher, pump/dump?

I'm stuck holding a bag. I should have realized the exact high spot was when I started getting greedy and wondering if it would go higher. I'm selling ext time I get that feeling.

319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fair share of coins on: March 29, 2014, 10:30:19 PM
You need to make a cryptocoin with fair share of coins. Everyone who downloads and uses the wallet for the first time will be awarded with 1 coin. The number of total coins will be determined by the number of wallets.

You should be awarded, this is how a currency should work. Bitcoin wasnt genius because it made early adopters the only significant ones hoarding thousands of coins. This makes it all look like a big ponzi. The whole crypto has become a stock market now. People doing trading all day long.

Bitcoin has failed

I have read plenty of posts by bitcoin early adopters on here who sold their coins for a pittance because they had no idea how much they would be worth in the future. How many people who paid 0.5 cent would not sell after it hit $3, then started to fall again. I doubt many early adopters are still holding their coins.

Join the EXEcoin team.

This coin is 1 month old TODAY! and actually has room to grow unlike all these shitcoins flooding the markets.

Asic resistant litecoin copy with 30 second blocks.

Whats your guys opinions on Scrypt-n and its utility in replacing scrypt.

I invested in this coin when it launched and it looks like it has a future, unlike plenty of other coins launching at the same time. I will be voting on mintpal.
