301  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Faketoshi saga is now coming to a close... on: March 16, 2024, 04:59:15 AM
Yeah it’s great that this is finally put to an end.

I don’t know if this was the original cause or not but the crash in Nov 2018 might of been due to Bitcoin SV. CSW was saying he is going to dump all 1M of his coins and BTC will be dead and BSV will replace it. And shortly after is when we broke the $6K support and went down to like $3.5K.

Pretty sure the BSV mess is what started that crash.
302  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you invest in BTC or MicroStrategy MSTR? on: March 16, 2024, 04:55:17 AM
Yeah you are better off investing directly in either BTC and hold it in self custody or invest in the etf if you want it on your 401K.

MSTR we don’t know how it will perform in the future if there is another bear market or if they decide to start to sell their holdings. They haven’t sold anything yet but who knows. Maybe one day out of the blue they will start to sell their bitcoins. So you are better off being in control and just buying bitcoin directly.
303  Economy / Speculation / Re: Good news= up in price while bad news = down in price. on: March 15, 2024, 03:33:54 AM
I don’t find this to be true.

In a true bull market, negative news doesn’t really affect bitcoins price.

And the same is true in a bear market. I remember after every cycle that we peaked there was tons and tons of good news but we kept dipping anyways.

Sure if the news is major like Satoshi finally moving his coins to Coinbase to sell, then obviously it will be a huge dump but minor news won’t affect bitcoin in this market.
304  Economy / Speculation / Re: If you had bought the previous ATH you're on profit on: March 15, 2024, 03:31:30 AM
I know many people personally who bought bitcoin above $60K last cycle and guess what. Almost all of them have sold.

Some sold in the $30K area where it looked like bitcoin was going nowhere. And the rest sold after the Ftx collapse where it looked like bitcoin would go to $10k again.

I am pretty sure there are rarely any people who are in profit now who bought in 2021.
305  Economy / Speculation / Re: At what price will you bitcoin holders sell if we have a major price spike? on: March 15, 2024, 03:29:17 AM
I think right now what is wise to do is monitor the etf flows. Because I predict that if the flows start to go flat or they start to go negative then we might of topped.

Question is when will this happen? It’s impossible to predict. Almost everyday for the past month we got $500M worth of daily inflows, very rarely having a negative day.

But since there is no technical analysis in this area it’s the only fundamental analysis we can use to trade.
306  Other / Off-topic / Re: Warren Buffet has dreamt last night - he met Satoshi Nakamoto and bought 100 BTC on: March 15, 2024, 03:24:29 AM

-Trust me bro

I kind of knew this was going to be a joke post just by reading the topic. First of all, no investors are ever going to be taken seriously if they take stock tips based on a dream.

Also Warren Buffet will never buy bitcoin. He has hated it for almost a decade and his side kick also has hated it. Why would he buy 100 BTC at $50000 when the price is $70000 now.
307  Economy / Speculation / Re: another ATH , 71k and still climbing. on: March 14, 2024, 04:23:34 AM
There is no technical analysis really in this space. The last was the prior ATH. Right now the only technical levels I can see besides some rare fib extension levels is the $75K and $100K psychological.

There is also the $100,000 CAD level which would be around $74K or so. So there might be some sellers in these areas which might stall the price a little before resuming higher.
308  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 4 Years ago people laughed at me bcz of THIS on: March 14, 2024, 04:17:18 AM
It wasn’t only weak hands selling crypto. There was tons of people who dumped their stocks at the lows because they feared the New York stock exchange wouldn’t function anymore.

There was tons of people with their 401k who sold also at the Covid bottom because the government gave some incentives to cash out their retirement since money was tight.

And what happened a couple of weeks later. We got a crazy rally. Many people sold those days. Now everyone looks back and feels like an idiot.
309  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin might reach $100k before halviing. What is your exit strategy? on: March 14, 2024, 04:14:31 AM
I don’t think anyone is planning on selling before $100K or at least close to it like $98-99K. We got crazy amount of money flowing into crypto.

Just today we got $500M added to tether market cap, we got a big boost in USDC market cap also, we got $1B in positive flows yesterday, we got Saylor selling more convertible notes to buy more bitcoin, etc.

The train is not stopping until we get close to $100K and then…. Who knows.
310  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the newly minted USDT, a driving force to surge of BTC ? on: March 13, 2024, 08:30:39 PM
The money still is flowing into crypto.

MSTR selling convertible notes to buy $500M more of BTC, and last week they bought $800M

USDC printed $370M in the last 2 hours

And the biggest of all was yesterday we had a record $1B in inflows to the etfs.

Going to be a ATH every day.
311  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin breaks 2021 ATH and hits $71k! on: March 13, 2024, 04:31:40 AM
Numbers are not in for todays trading session but yesterday was another bullish day. Something like $500M added. There was also the weekend tether print of $2B, about a quarter billion of USDC print, the $800M MSTR buy and you got bitcoin all over the news pretty much.

I think everyone is jumping in because they think $100K is a given. And seeing how we almost never dip and keep pumping in the NY session. I think its going to be a very bullish season.
312  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JP Morgan says BTC price could drop after 2024 halving on: March 13, 2024, 04:28:00 AM
I’ve been reading articles from all these hedge funds about bitcoin and various stocks and the conclusion is that they don’t know what they are talking about 50% of the time.

Half the predictions are correct and the other half are not. No point in reading anything that they write.

They are your competition pretty much on the open market so why would they give you any stock tips?
313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 4 years ago, WHO announced the pandemic, whole markets crashed on: March 13, 2024, 04:25:58 AM
Yes it was a crazy time. Who remembers Bitmex back then?

For those that don’t know it was the largest perps swap exchange at the time. And there was massive massive liquidations. It got so bad that the owner basically shut down the exchange because if he didn’t it would of collapsed to $0.

Most likely other exchanges would of been fine but the arbitragers would of kept hedging and dumping on other exchanges. It was a crazy time.

For the next few days the exchange had a huge discount relative to spot. I think something like $500 or so. That sure was a crazy day.
314  Economy / Speculation / Re: At what price will you bitcoin holders sell if we have a major price spike? on: March 12, 2024, 04:04:36 AM
I am pretty sure almost everyone that entered this cycle will sell at least some at $100K. This is where we might have that issue like we did with the 2017 top. Where we reached $19500 but never touched $20000 since many had their sell orders there. So keep in mind if this happens then there is a good chance we might not reach $100K but might touch $99K and head back down.

However I predicted this back at $10K in 2017 and $50K back in 2021 and I was dead wrong and sold way too early. So take my analysis with a grain of salt. Either way, somebody has an exit price, even Saylor. If we reach $250K, even he might start taking some partial profits at least.
315  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price history, ATHs and bottoms. on: March 12, 2024, 04:01:32 AM
Yeah right now we are on a similar path as those in the past during the halving period. Generally we go up exponentially and this time we've been rallying before the halving which is fairly new, especially since we broke the ATH. Halving will be most likely on April 20 or around that day.

Currenly we got tons of money entering crypto. We had $2B in tether print yesterday, every stock trading session we got +$500M in new flows, we also got Saylor which bought $800M worth of BTC at like $60K. Most likely as MSTR keeps rallying he will keep issuing those convertibles notes and will keep buying them and the price of the stock will rally and he will sell more and buy more bitcoin.

Doesnt look like the train is stopping anytime soon.
316  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Need help trading. on: March 12, 2024, 03:56:18 AM
Do you want to learn or want a trading signal? You need to decide about it and stop believing that one signal can help you. If those who are offering you signals did not learn, will they know how to issue the signals? And of course, the $500 capital is very good for starting and learning, but I must warn you, you may lose it all if you are learning. This is why I recommend a demo account for you since you are just starting. And if you would start the live trading/training, use a very low risk and do not think of the money at first.

Aside from that, you must know that the journey to attain trading expertise is not what anyone can predetermine, all you need to do is focus on learning, and if you get to the level of professionalism, you will know by yourself without anyone telling you, as it varies from people to people. Because the time people have for the training, their dedication to it and the source of learning matters a lot. The ability of the person to rightly use what he learned even matters most, so no one can predict the actual or average time you can become an expert in trading.

However, about the link, I am not a new trader, it has been a long time since I learned and most of the important sites I learned about trading are no more functioning. This is a pity because they are full of the most useful training tools unlike what we see these days. Well, in the absence of none, you can use and search;

1. https://www.babypips.com/
2. Search some keywords you want with investopedia.com

Man I didn't realise Babypips was still around. I remember being a regular there about 15 years ago. After browsing the forum for 2 years I come to the conclusion that 99% of people there never made any money trading forex. I think there is a higher percentage of people making money trading stock options than there is trading forex. Forex is extremely difficult and I don't know anyone personally that earns a living thru it.

Most people who do this professionally either stick with stocks or crypto. Crypto is much easier because at least now, you got transparency. You got volume, liquidation info, open interest, funding rate. None of these tools are present in the forex or stock market. You are at a huge disadvantage trading those markets. Crypto at least the field is more level for different types of traders.
317  Economy / Speculation / Re: A whale took profits for the first time since 2010 sold 1000 Bitcoins on: March 11, 2024, 05:00:52 AM
Some company did an analysis on this individual and they concluded that he most likely has sold in the past similar amounts.

They think he was one of the first GPU miners since most of his blocks found were when the total hashrate was around 5 Gh/s. Which is extremely small. So he could of mined 10000-30000 coins and sells them every few years to take profit.
318  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have known Bitcoin and other currencies since 2014 on: March 11, 2024, 04:56:46 AM
Do you remember liberty reserve?

This was out in 2010 or sometime around then. Back in 2014 we had plenty of exchanges like MtGox, Poloniex, Bitfinex, etc.

As for the OP, congrats on coming back. Sure it would of been wise to invest in bitcoin in 2014 for $200 or buy the ETH ico around the same time but we all have investing regrets.

I mined so many ETH all thru 2016 to 2017 and sold it all when ETH broke $20. Later in the year it went to $1100. No way could I predict that since when I mined it, it was $10 or so. $1100 an ETH made no sense and most never held until then.
319  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Need help trading. on: March 11, 2024, 04:48:43 AM
Trading isn’t something you can really teach someone. It’s more of a type of occupation which is all about the experience. After a few years you either get it or you give up and move on like most people.

Keep in mind that trading isn’t for most people. Many cannot survive bearish market conditions. Usually people make money in a bull market and end up losing it all in the bear market. Those that survive are rare. And I am talking about stocks, crypto, metals, commodities, etc. Most markets are alike.
320  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Looking for legit bridge between ETH and SOLANA ? on: March 11, 2024, 04:46:16 AM
Thanks for all the replies. I used the allbridge one and didn’t have too many issues.

Only issues I had was that I needed to use Arbitrium to bridge into Solana. However I didn’t have any USDC on my ARB address and I had to bridge that. And I got something called USDC.e and apparently you can’t use that on allbridge. So I had to swap to USDC and then I tried and it worked.

It took a while like 35 minutes but the funds appeared in my SOL wallet and was amazed at the speed and low cost of transactions on Solana.

Anyone know if there is a way to bridge directly from Zksync Era to Solana or do you need to bridge away from Zksync and from there bridge again to Solana?
