302  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Quickseller escrowing for himself on: September 09, 2015, 02:03:28 AM
I have answered your question regarding my identity and who I am, and I am not going to be any more specific then I have because I know you will somehow twist my words to make it sound like I said something else.

Why don't you just clearly state that you are not Quickseller?  That would satisfy me and probably other members, because then if it turned out you were lying, we could leave you and QS negative trust.
I have also answered this once (see page 2). However moving forward, I am going to adopt a policy of neither admitting nor denying if any alt accounts are mine (except possibly ones I use to investigate scams), especially ones whose trust history reflect having physical items shipped to them.

As TC mentioned, escrowing for yourself is really not a scam. If you are going to trust someone to send first to them (do a direct trade), then all you need to trust is that they will end up not scamming you, however if you are going to trust someone to escrow for you then you must trust they will not simply run away with coins, but also will effectively mediate any dispute that arrises, therefore you must trust someone more to use them as escrow verses trusting them doing a direct trade. Whenever I had escrowed deals involving panthers, there was never any disputes and released money only when I was instructed to do so.

I am fairly certain that you did not appreciate it when scammers were posting what they claimed to be your dox (I am unsure if the entire dox is correct, however you had confirmed that the name is correct), and I would think you would understand that I would like to avoid similar activity (although my name is a lot more common then yours is).

This thread is nothing more then an intimidation attempt against me by tspacepilot (and this is not the first one). I really do not think it is a good idea to believe/trust him simply because the person he stole from is a scammer (even if you did think this was okay, TF was not a scammer - he was at least not labeled as one - when tspacepilot stole from TF). I do not doubt this will be the last intimidation attempt by him either.

If what panthers had posted about receiving a message to post in tspacepilot's thread about me is true, then tspacepilots claim that he "stumbled" across this information in his thread. This is in addition to the fact that tspacepilot's experiment is not scientifically valid as it does not use anywhere near as many data points as necessary to confirm/deny his hypothesis. I would not be surprised if tspacepilot ran similar tests on many other users until he found three that had high scores on everyone else in his test (assuming of course that the data he presented is real)

(my own bolds added) Haha really?

I mined a bit on your suprnova.cc pool ocminer, and had automatic withdrawals set up at a low amount for many regular withdrawals. Will you be fixing all transaction errors or only ones that users find and specifically request to get fixed?

Shift supply is 250,000 + blockheight*3. I wanted to mention this in my above post talking about how it will take 7 years for Ethereum's mining/staking network to equal the premine. For Shift it will take only a bit over two weeks for coin supply from mining rewards to overtake the premine.

Note: I have nothing against the Ethereum devs for their ipo revenue model and paying themselves and early investors in their own value token. Without it, Ethereum might not have happened. But since their code is open source, forks are inevitable.

Why then people are so eager to invest into ethereum despite such horrendous premine? It looks like buying ethereum now is some madness.

It's confused me as well to be honest. I don't think many speculators or investors understand what Ethereum is for, it's all hype at this point in my opinion.

Ethereum has lots of promise but because it's open source, a project like Shift can fork it and setup a network with equivalent abilities. The main reason I can think of for using Ethereum exclusively for a dapp is if the application benefits from interacting with other parties' dapps on the same network.  A secondary benefit from piling into one network would be an assumption of price stability for its value token because of higher market volume.  A second or many Ethereum-based networks provides room for innovation (see Bitcoin vs alts), cost competition (cheaper gas price on Shift could lower gas cost on Ethereum's network), and many other positive effects.

Currently there is a supply of 72,998,905 Ether. This is the 60,000,000 from the IPO + 12,000,000 for foundation/development/contributor rewards + about a million from mining since Frontier got its start. Now from mining, assuming the 15 second block target holds, we get an annual inflation of 10,519,200 Ether (5760 blocks/day * 5 ether per block * 365.25). So only if Ether mining continued for 7 years would mining rewards surpass its premine. But then there's this, scroll down to Difficulty adjustment scheme: https://blog.ethereum.org/2015/08/04/ethereum-protocol-update-1/

At Ethereum block 200,000 (under 9 hours away as of writing) the difficulty starts to increase little by little beyond the nethashrate's target. This scheme is to freeze out the network to allow it to switch to proof-of-stake. I haven't read if block target or reward will change at the PoS changeover, but if it stays the same it will still take just under 7 years for the Ethereum network's mining/staking rewards to match the 72 million Ether premine.

I think for this reason a healthy fork of Ethereum such as (maybe) Shift will make a healthier ecosystem for this type of network. It's a good selling point for Shift too.

ShiftTeam, is the long term goal to provide a platform equal to Ethereum as far as its decentralized application feature? I ask because I see your twitter name is "shiftcurrency." The Ethereum project has done their best to present Ether as a token of value for their network, putting the focus on the network's application abilities rather than its ability to transmit its token or currency from one account to another, which the thousands of cryptocurrencies out there are all capable of doing.

308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bytecoin Price Discussion/Analysis – 9/6/2015 on: September 07, 2015, 07:08:13 AM
Analysis for all time: Bytecoin would be worth a damn if its developers decided to be on the up and up and build something fair for all to use, instead of being extremely shady and greedy. Could've used a more imaginative name too Tongue

310  Other / Meta / Re: Just remove signatures already. As in delete, disable, gone. on: September 06, 2015, 02:59:08 PM
Reducing signatures to simple text without size and color tags seems to be long overdue. I agree with the negative effects pointed out in the OP but I think simple signatures, even if they're ads, can still have a place here. Just make them less like attention grabbing banner ads and hopefully their value as adspace will go down, with the result of less low-quality postcount++.
311  Other / Meta / Re: Quickseller backpedals, then continues trust abuse without evidence on: September 06, 2015, 02:14:14 PM
It's entertaining to see what a stubborn nut this Quickseller guy is under the surface of his personas. Thread of the year.

There is 1 btc sell order at 100 satoshi.
Seems that the thief only wants to make quick profit and exit.
But this strategy is killing the coin.

I think bright days for graffiti are over.
If you check the blockchain link you'll see the thief's address' balance hasn't changed since the 3rd. It could be another large holder.

Just did another comparison calculation vs Ethereum and the result I got was similar, 11.5GH this time. If my method isn't totally stupid and suprnova.cc only has a reported 3.8GH rate, where's the rest of the hash on the network coming from?
314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SHIFT] First Ethereum fork. GUI wallet. No ICO/IPO. PoW, Bountys. Bittrex. on: September 06, 2015, 08:42:39 AM
Thank you! I'm having trouble with the code, I'm an Ethereum/shift idiot beyond the very basic console commands so I just pasted that into the console and it gave some errors.

But I did compare Ether diff to Ether hashrate reported on the mining calculator website, which when using the same ratio on Shift gives a net hash rate of 11GH or so. Factoring in the 3/5ths mining reward of Shift to Ether, it looks like Ether mining is the better bet right now.

Thanks. debug.printBlock(blockNumber) gives you the difficulty of a given block but what's the formula for turning the difficulty into net hashrate?

Where is a data source for Shift net hashrate?

http://www.mydocker.xyz:8000/ block explorer is still only able to view blocks. Is there one that does accounts, transactions, contracts etc yet?

317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 06, 2015, 08:03:11 AM
Browsing around Poloniex I looked at XMR's most recent chart and it looks different to me. Using 5, 15, and 30 minute increment candlesticks looking at just a bit over a week of XMR trading, the majority of these candlesticks suddenly shifted red about 7:00 AM Poloniex time September 3rd to present. Before they were majority green or an even mix. I haven't seen this kind of thing on a chart before without major downswings in price, but price has remained relatively stable.

Is this a somewhat large seller playing it slow to keep his price on target?

Edit: Ok now I believe this is the thief's only address: http://graffiti.mycoins.xyz/address/EfN5psoSzZ67vBcjGxyY1JGEAPwZ6LU69z

Apologies for my assumption about a second address.
