306  Bitcoin / Mining / WTF? Enermax 1500W atx 2.4 platinum! atx 2.4 and platinum vs 2.3 bronze psu? on: January 26, 2014, 10:20:25 PM
http://skinflint.co.uk/eu/enermax-platimax-1500w-atx-2-4-epm1500egt-a692478.html

at least some platimax psu are atx 2.4 while most are 2.3. Ive seen some 2.31 and 2.32 too but can you please tell me what are the differences?

also should i care about the platinum or titanium psu or should i just get a bronze?

also this article says that manufacturers cherry pick the psu they send and bribe the 80 plus specification inventors. Is this true ?
http://www4.hardocp.com/article/2011/10/04/80_plus_irrelevant_to_you_when_buying_psu/

How do i verify real efficiency?  (killawatt meters are inaccurate)

Also some companies make psu that say the peak wattage instead of continuous. This means that the peak will supply that max wattage for a very short time unlike continuous.
How do i know if psu is peak or continuous?

I think this is very important anyone for everyone who uses a psu especially gpu mines so plz reply

307  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: H81 Pro BTC vs GA-Z68AP-D3 on: January 26, 2014, 09:24:41 PM
i had a very tough choice to make but i chose the h81 pro btc because it has 1 more pci-e slot and seems to have more frequent bios updates i can save bit because i wont need as many powered rises cuz this board has extra 2 molex connectors digi power and 4 phase vs 3 and all capacitors are solid all of which isnt a very big deal the first two are for cpu and the worse electrolytic caps withstand much longer than you normally use a mobo anyway but they might affect stabiltiy minimally.

so in my situation for this board i choose g1820 cpu and 2gb goodram

BUT the other has more features better specs which i dont care about now so i would choose that one if i wasnt getting a gpu mining board.
The same goes for this board which I was also considering http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4783#ov

Also all shops sell the first version of these. It isnt a huge difference in the specs but gigabyte seems to make bios updates only for the newest version.

What convinced me the most was that im unsure of the bios settings stability etc so i thought that  the h81 is prolly be a better choice for mining and overclocking etc

311  Bitcoin / Mining / Using 20+ price comparing sitesfound this RADEON but how2 avoid getin SCAMMED? on: January 24, 2014, 06:31:55 PM
ILL SEND PM WIV THE CARD TO WHO SOLVES THIS!

Ive done this in EACH of the country'S price compare sites:USA UK and a few European and gave up with the rest cuz I figured it would take so much time that when I finish Id hav to start again!!

then looked for the best kh/s achieved with the card posted on all sites with kh/s results I found
and calced the price per kh/s and now I KNOW the most profitable card and the site with best price for each card cuz IVE DONE THIS WITH ALL CARDS OUT THERE!!!

Took a few WEEKS to browse through all these sites especially cuz most of them show irrelevant products.[size=5pt

The problem is no one know this website with the cheapest radeon I found.AND Ive never paid with cr'd'edit card before.

SO what should i do to avoid losing money for not receiving the card?
THERE ARE fees from shipping USA to EU! How do I avoid them?

MODS sorry there isnt a good subforum for this so I chose this since it has most views.
312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The math of mining? on: January 24, 2014, 05:35:50 PM
Im not sure if this is the best option but Id stick with coinchoose.com and use a pool that mines the most profitable  coin at the moment

I had been but it points me to worthless coins. Like Orbitcoin that cost me 3 days with ZERO payout!
Cosmocoin and a slew of others that are a waste.

Buts thanks for the responce. Smiley

why ZERO payout?!
