And i was already getting ready to watch it being grinded down over a longer timeframe as the new point of "stability".

306  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Snake head on: June 19, 2012, 12:52:27 PM
I wonder when we will break the old record.

Does more Thas/s acutally increase encryption or does it just make bitcoin safer by needing more for a 51% attack?

Better hope you get them early because once them things get out there in force that is going to be like running a single 5770 today..

I sent emails to all of the BFL employees whose addresses are public within minutes of their announcement Smiley

Smart move the first people to get their hands on these things get a definite leg up.

leg up? You mean first leg down the road of it ever paying off.

309  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New Investor To Bitcoin Mining on: June 17, 2012, 08:09:54 AM
Welcome David, happy to have you here.

Will your contribution to the "bitcoin economy" mainly consist as a additional
miner? Be aware that buying mining equipment now for 30000 Dollar by no
means assures you of any long term profit because mining represents taking
on a long term stake into bitcoin.

I am curious to know what brought you to bitcoin.

Do you see any other services you can offer?
Have you also looked into buying some bitcoins as part of your strategy?

311  Local / Mining (Deutsch) / Re: Butterfly Labs Announces Next Generation ASIC Lineup on: June 16, 2012, 01:29:35 PM

313  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How would you recommend exchanging gold for BTC? on: June 14, 2012, 04:48:56 PM
Welcome.

Small time gold investor wanting to "cash out"?

Ask the people of http://coinabul.com/ if they also buy gold. It is there buisness to sell it for bitcoin. Perhaps they can held.
I guess there you send your gold first because they have the reputation to pay you. Otherwise document your sending here.

Alternatively you can wait for someone here to offer you a "deal". However then you should also place an offer in the marketplace section
of this forum.

Otherwise you have to find the places in the internet where you can trade for your currency and then buy coins.

I was gone for half a week and come back to see my dividend canceled by a short notice revote.

May I ask by what authority?

Is not a vote necessary to demand a revote?
I mean all in 3 days?

if only.

i personally do not find it seductive to sell into 5.20 wall.
Will not support it either.
318  Economy / Speculation / Re: [Daily Speculation Poll] :: Is bitcoin a fad? on: June 03, 2012, 01:29:24 PM
The Bitcoinica disaster is enough action if you ask me lately, thank you.

The Bitcoinica disaster might have been a disaster for Bitcoinica speculators; I don't think it's such a disaster for Bitcoin

why? If they get coins back it beats being "tonged".

bitcoin is to useful to be a fad.
Unfortunately it seems like much to technical for the average joe!
And if it enters the high powered ASICs chapter it might end up highly speculative for those guys again.
319  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who else is bored? on: May 22, 2012, 08:08:57 PM
And I see Gox's command of the market has eroded slightly...

how so?
