301  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 11, 2015, 03:24:21 AM
Well ... that was fun. Time to go home. Party is over. There is always next November for those who missed out.

The party is really over. Yep. See yall next November.

All joking aside, it's pretty damn sad to see btc reduced to a pump&dump toy thing so the all-ready-rich can get richer.

Sounds like you are new to the boat. This behaviour has been happening repeatedly since last year. We have multiple times jumped from 200 to 300 and vice versa so many times already.

Not so new to get caught on the wrong side of this dump! I'm in fiat baby!

303  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Price going back to $250??? on: November 07, 2015, 07:16:32 PM
No it won't drop back down to 250.. It won't just rise like it did and drop down just as fast. It'll prob stabilize above $300. Maybe even $325.
You can never say never in this economical environment we are currently in.
Would you be surprised if the price went down to sub $200 at this point? I wouldn't be as I have seen it before and it wouldn't be a shocker to most of the early adopters around here either. Most of them have seen everything when it comes to this highly volatile currency.

You got that right. The only way to second guess btc prices are to look for patterns and history has a habit of repeating itself.
304  Economy / Reputation / Re: What made Spoetnik such a troll? on: November 07, 2015, 06:01:46 PM
Once you realize spoetnik is not a troll, you have truly matured here. It took me a good 2 years.

You are joking right?

It's the same song and dance with Spoetnik posts:

"I'm smart - you're an idiot"
"I've been around here forever - you're an idiot"
"I told you so - you're an idiot"
"I warned you - you're an idiot"
"You're a scammer/kid and an idiot"
"You're dumb and an idiot"
"You're a noob and an idiot"
"I'm tough - I will fuck you up"
"I have hacker friends who will fuck you up"
yadda yadda yadda ...

Very mature don't you think?

This would make the last Bitcoin run a complete pump and dump and it would just show up that Bitcoin hasn't grown up at all.

Sadly, at this point in time, bitcoin's use as a commodity is mostly for trading.  Bitcoin's use as a currency and store of value hurt because of the volatility.

Again, sadly, trading bitcoin is the only thing keeping it alive.  Hopefully, this changes in years to come but don't gamble your money on it.
306  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Risky to leave fiat currency on an exchange?? on: November 06, 2015, 07:50:30 PM
Well, if you are not trading then leaving btc at any exchange is foolish. Fiat might be slightly less risky but we know how they love to steal btc.

Traders have no choice. You either have fiat or btc ready if you want to make a trade or lose out. It takes way too long to send fiat or btc. Many trades need to happen fast.
307  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Price going back to $250??? on: November 06, 2015, 07:38:09 PM
Let's put it this way.  We already had btc pump to just over $500. Big pumps are far and few between - we had a good one, one year ago and then mostly sideways.

So, if history repeats, btc will bleed back down to god only knows where and settle back into sideways. $250 is realistic.

308  Economy / Speculation / Re: Did you sell above 400$? on: November 06, 2015, 06:10:21 PM
An honest thread!

If you picked up bitcoins in the $200s you would have been a fool not to sell over $400.

You have to ignore the bear/bull bullshit posted around here. It is one hellava lot more likely to drop back to sub $300 than to reach $1000. With that said, this is btc and anything is possible.

Lots of us waiting for the $1000(dream on) bitcoin while others make good money on the highs and lows.
309  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 05, 2015, 06:20:42 AM
Where will the dead cat bounces take us for the bottom? 300 tomorrow?
310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin Sub Fans... Time to Let Go of Your Altcoin and Buy Bitcoin on: November 05, 2015, 05:59:22 AM
Would be nice if bobsurplus took spoetnik under his wing and gave him some pointers on "how to make money on altcoins". He might cheer up if he makes a few bucks.

Come on bob ... take one for the team.

312  Economy / Reputation / Re: What made Spoetnik such a troll? on: November 04, 2015, 10:23:18 PM
My fave Spoetnik story is a year old when he went after Blocknet/XC/Dan. He got so worried they were going to track him down, he left the forum for a few months.  He said he had to "move" but it was more like "hiding out". Hilarious. So much for our brave warrior.

And yes, he is a very bitter bagholder. Drove him over the edge I suspect.

I'm surprised he hasn't got this thread deleted by a mod.  He's not shy about squealing on someone. I've had a couple posts deleted he cried to the mods about. Nobody likes a tattletale.

On a positive note; there is never a dull moment when he's around and its too much fun pushing his buttons.

313  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitstamp verification? on: November 03, 2015, 07:08:51 PM
Well I already have over 4 BTC, but Id like to be buying more every month for long term holding.

I don't blame you. You are getting in while the price is still low.

Time to Let Go of Your Altcoin and Buy Bitcoin

By the looks of things that is exactly what is happening.  Most everything taking a nose dive. If btc can settle down to a nice high price some alts will quickly recover. Those with lots of btc will buy up the bargain basement prices I'm sure.
315  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitstamp verification? on: November 03, 2015, 07:00:21 PM
Unless you want to pay through the nose with localbitcoins, dealing with most exchanges require verification. There is one or two that no not require verification but use "at your own risk".

Bitstamp is a decent choice.
316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MINT] Mintcoin - New Wallet v2.0.1.0 - CPU & Bandwidth Optimization on: November 03, 2015, 06:55:51 PM
I just put a notice on the facebook page advising Mintcoin users to withdraw their coins from Cryptsy.

Unfortunately it seems the rumours are true and that they are under investigation for suspicious conduct.

While Mintcoin withdrawals are likely unaffected for now, it seems they are halting Bitcoin withdrawals, so I suggest removing all coins from the exchange as soon as possible.

Can you quote a news link?

 Cool

My advice to anyone is; act quickly on rumour when it comes to exchanges. Gox, mintpal, vircurex, cryptorush, etc. are the proof.
317  Other / Off-topic / Re: Suggestion for tablet.. which brand is best ..??? on: November 03, 2015, 06:26:26 PM

I find the 16/9 displays useless in 10.1" tablets. Might be ok on the bigger ones 12 inch or more. The 7" ones are too small.

The 4/3 display is best so my pick would be the new 9.7" models from Samsung. Apple is too expensive and proprietary for me.
318  Other / Off-topic / Are Spoetnik and Codishmumu the same person? on: November 02, 2015, 06:53:28 PM
Ever since codishmumu was banned, Spoetnik has taken over in the crappy threads department. Could they be the same?
319  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Spoetnik] Trust Rating Problem on: November 02, 2015, 05:49:18 PM
There must have been a decent reason they left you that feedback.

Plus why after a year now you are trying to get the negative rating removed?

 Roll Eyes

He's hurt because I said he didn't have credibility.  So he's looking for credibility and the big red warning under his name does not help.

"Credibility" and "internet forum" in the same sentence appears to be a good example of oxymoron.  Grin  So good luck with that.
320  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Spoetnik Altcoin Observer on: October 31, 2015, 06:09:24 PM
Yep. Touched a nerve for sure!   Grin

Glad to see you found some good coins to buy. Took you long enough considering your vast expertise and experience.
