I can't find the part of your post that was about darkcoin/dash. Smooth, you do realise with the amount of effort you have spent slandering and bringing up the 1+ year old instamine non-issue, you could have had a working GUI wallet, fixed monero's problems and kept a little class...... Why not let things be, put your head down and do something useful with your time to help Monero and its community? Then maybe, JUST maybe you may see a glimmer of hope that Monero might actually be worth something one day.....or not... |

Just a heads up - when the name is changed from Darkcoin to Dash on CoinMarketCap - Many people who previously never invested into DRK because of its name will suddenly flood into Dash interested to find out why its so high up on the list. Wait for the new ATH - I have a few colleagues who are going to be investing some very big dollars in the coming days because of this change |

Another one I made:  This is what I'm talking about I say the D stands alone - then, call it what you want A "currency" needs a symbol not a bunch of shit stacked on top of it The more I look at the old darkcoin D against the new dash logos. I have realised how cartoonish and amateurish it looks. We need to drop the D and start fresh. |

I have to admit, I wasnt 100% convinced on the name, like others were saying...I thought it was ok but we could do better. But afte messing about last night, its started to grow on me. Done in PS for quickness (no vector goodness)  Morse code of the left, D -.. A .- S ... H .... I had a few others, but this was prob my fav. I still think 'DASH' is a crap name, but this looks infinitely better than the crappy chunky golf club / pipe / headless duck symbol. I absolutely love the morse code logo!!!! |

Imagine if McDonalds came out with a different name? People have associated with that name for their entire lives. Most of us have been here for an extremely long time, and a name change will cause a massive change. People know DRK. You would have to start over marketing wise to get to the point you are at now.
I can see where you are coming from but you have a very narrow view. McDonalds has been around longer than most people's age who are into crypto so you are talking oranges and apples. You cant compare Mcdonalds brand name exposure to Darkcoins. Darkcoins name has been around for like 12 months...this is so young its not funny.....I guarantee you that the majority of hardcore bitcoiners in the main forum still dont know what Darkcoin is and or what it does.... Now compare this to the rest of the world when/if digital currency starts going mainstream in a few years...if you had two options to use as an every day consumer one named digital cash the other darkcoin ...you can guess how much Darkcoin would be utilised....almost zilch... You want our audience to be a very closed off niche market or be presentable for everyday consumers? But doesn't Dashcoin sound like every other altcoin out there? Ive spent some time to think about all this and ive been talking this over with my wife who actually does Marketing and branding for some very large global companies. She loves "Dash - Digital Cash" re brand. It makes it easy for Non-crypto geeks to understand..."Whats Dash - its digital cash ---ohh ok thats easy to remember and figure out." Plus we can use the old "D" logo, as having branding continuity is extremely important so we can still resonate with people who were previously part of the team and familiar with the brand. All I can say is im fucking excited as ever! Edit: And if you are diehard oldtimer then its still Dark Cash for you  |

umm you guys do realize that that there is already a coin named dash right....... so stealing another coins name branding is the next level?

My Masternodes are staying put. With some people throwing tantrums and dumping coins, a cool head is needed in times like this and to not make rash decisions based on your emotions. Cool down, step away for a while and assess the situation with a level head. In the end it will all sort itself out and im sure for the best. To the people who sold, this may or may not have been the worst decision in your life |

Whilst I support the name change - Dash hasnt grown on me yet....
Its just too boring and sounds harsh when you say it...."Got some Dash bro"
Ripple for instance I like the sound of, rolls off the tongue easily.
Need to put some effort into community brainstorming some cooler names before its set in concrete imo
