301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CDN:Canada eCoin-merge mineable scrypt eCoin [ANN] on: May 21, 2014, 12:42:25 AM
Someone dumped 266000 Canada ecoins yesterday, but it's still possible to get a decent price for this coin.
This shows that the coin has some strength!

I hope the price will come up to where it was though. And it would be fun with some more competition, difficulty is down to 0.35 again.

Where are the devs? What's happening?  Two weeks without updates is almost indication of a dead coin in crypto land!

We can't have 2 country coins (?), and maplecoin's recent maple syrup announcement and hype (twitter/forum) may be pushing it beyond where this one is going?

This coin is struggling, and will be worthless, and nothing but unmatched hype, if something does't change soon. Need to change the reward from 1% to 100% each year.  Double the coins in circulation each year to those that hold them.  Why not - this coin may be done in a number of days?! :-(

Not sure why I am mining this, and will bail soon too, as others have indicated, unless something (other than chatter here) changes the direction.

Here we go again. Hash rate just jumped by 500%, up to 950 Mh/s !!!

As soon as the difficulty drops, in they come like flies on s!@#.

Then they take off leaving it in high difficulty mode for days, so that the rest of us can suffer.  This process sucks for the long-term miners,  with much less of a hashing rate, most of which are holding their coins   Angry

Expect a few more hundred thousand coins to hit the allcrypt streets shortly….

Regarding PoS, there has been some talk about that among SolarCoin volunteers and it's something the Foundation will be studying carefully.

I read that one company alone, US First Solar (which has about 5% of the market, I believe), recently said it expected net sales in 2014 to range between $3.7 and $4 billion, with higher numbers in 2015 & 2016.  Solarcoin has 100 million mined coins (to be about 75+% completed over the next year or two).  Add on the claimed solarcoins, and the number will climb some - not sure of that growth, so I'll just throw out a number, say 150 million in total over the two years (?).  These companies have revenues in the billions, and profits in the hundreds of millions of dollars annually.  Even if the top companies donated a million a year each to the solarcoin initiative/foundation, that could mean 10 cents on each coin annually. If they donated 5 million a year, it would equate to .50 a coin annually. Any annually guaranteed return on coins would be a double banger for the valuation, as it would spur on demand/desire, as well as incentive for people to hold their coins, which would drive up the price. Could be a real win-win…but would need to be able to implement some sort of reward system; i.e., PoS.
306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SLR] SolarCoin - PoW reward for solar energy | the GREEN KING of Crypto on: May 11, 2014, 05:31:45 PM
Hold on, hold on... If the price does spike early due to limited supply, that's what will trigger people who already generate solar to start submitting their claims in earnest which will start adding to the supply (coins in circulation). That will keep the price in check from going too high in the short term because many of those claimants will be more inclined to sell or be inclined to accept SLR as payment and get transactions under way.

So exciting to think about all of this! I think we are about to witness something special and unique with SolarCoin.  Shocked Many books will be written about it in the future. I might start taking notes now... LOL

Nice to see the excitement!  :-)

I believe it could also make sense if the solarcoin foundation, being so well represented in the community, approach the photovoltaics companies (manufacturers) to subsidize the coin, to spur investment into their products.  Even if a very small percentage of their sales could go to subsidizing the solar coin initiative, it could really add up. If solarcoins hit the $10-$50 range, it would truly initiate growth in the solar power usage, and they would get that small investment back quite easily; and probably be eligible for some corporate tax right-off of the contribution to the solar coin foundation. Why wouldn't the manufacturers collectively provide some incentive?  According to the following photovoltaics companies wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_photovoltaics_companies), it appears that the top manufacturing companies have a large % of the market.  I would start there   Wink  Although, I am not sure how you would go about distributing any $ that were contributed to the solarcoin foundation?  How would you go about connecting the $ to the individual coins?  Could you have additional coins awarded periodically to those that hold their coins, kinda like a PoS system? Of course you would have to only apply that to the mined coins (not the pre-mined/award coins). Maybe there's an easier way?  That would have to take more thought :-)

Exciting times for a solid crypto coin, that has a great backing!

Just to clarify;

In the example of using a PoS type reward system, where I said only award to the mined coins, I meant not to award to the coins still in storage (not awarded), as well.  The idea was that those that made claims to accumulate coins, as well as those coins that were mined, could benefit from holding their solarcoins from some kind of value created by the $ that could be donated from the manufacturers.

There are hardly any offers in there on AllCrypt... A market buy with 3 or 4 bitcoins would move the price up dramatically...  Shocked

AllCrypt seems a very low volume exchange for most of the coins it lists. I assume it's a newish exchange and people have not built up enough trust to do big trades on it yet. That's a pity because it looks professional and well run.

Low volume is great! These coins will be worth plenty in a year or two. In the meantime, shhh, mine and/or accumulate quietly. Let the word get out after we have more coins ;-)

309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SLR] SolarCoin - PoW reward for solar energy | the GREEN KING of Crypto on: May 09, 2014, 09:55:58 AM
Ok, so I logged on to MintPal to cast my votes and they changed it!!! On the plus side, we are now showing at 23rd spot, up one. On the down side, it's just one vote an hour and it won't let me vote because it says I need more trade history. Does anyone know how much trade history you actually need to be able to vote???

They also increased the cost, 1 vote now costs 0.001 BTC. We'd need 16,365 votes to get to #1 will cost over 16 bitcoins but with the other changes, the cost hasn't really changed to buy your way in.

Still, I can't vote without a larger trade history. Does anyone know more about this?

If you're mining this coin now, the last thing you want in Mintpal!  Being on Mintpal does not warrant a higher price.  It just gives a vehicle for multipool pump and dumpers to make $ by flogging the market with coins.  Mintpal does not bring the demand to warrant the supply that multipools will thump onto the market. If multipools start mining and dumping a million solar coins a day, the price will drop fast…and then they will move on.

The best scenario for us solarcoin miners is to stay under the radar, at least until the 1st half (50 million) coins are mined, when the block reward is cut in half….we're 1/3 of the way there. Unfortunately, I don't think that will happen.

If multipools do come, and mine out the coins quickly, which could happen, as the 500 Mh/s User mining now (which could be a multipool) is generating 1/4 million solarcoins a day, it would provide a window for a rich investor to purchase a very large chunk of the available solarcoins.  This scenario would also change the mining projections posted on the solarcoin web site, where it indicates 2014 would see 50% of the coins mined, and the next 25% mined in 2015; as multipool mining would push past the 525k block pretty fast (already at block 175k).

Time to buy many of them on mintpal - so cheap for now.

Getting ready to push it or just want out?

I ve been having fun playing the swings ... since i have no idea what the current status... except for the post about more to come in I think it was June...might as well treat the Fun out of it  Wink

The dev team completely ditched this coin. It was a scam.

It is hilarious that it is still trading away on the exchanges.

Dev not been online since the 14th, radio silence on twitter/reddit, website down. Coin is dead.

Guess the new owner/social network was all bs, just to try and push the price up to allow them to offload last of their coins!

Scumbags.  The entire coin was based on lies and deceit.  Unfortunately, these twits sucked in plenty of people hoping for their bs messages along the way.  An absolute disgrace.  These people should be banned from the crypto industry for good.  Let's see to it that they are, and not forget moving forward, should any of their names surface anywhere!

if it were a clone as BC? Grin

It may appear to be a clone, but has different technical fundamentals. I really like this coin because it has no premine, no ipo, and has less coins than WC.

As Doctor said, AsiaCoin is doing a perfect launch without any issues.

This is the coin to look for!

Where's all the TO THE MOOOOOON!!!! clowns?   What, no more pumping for the honest noobs to HOLD TIGHT, while the multipool selloff was/is on?  No more "HOLD YOUR COINS", No more TO THE MOOOON!!!  HOLD YOUR COINS, IT'S GOING TO THE MOOOOON!!!   Did they all run away with the MP folks?!  Or, are they doing post clean-up here still? …"oh, I can't believe it happened?",  "I can't believe…", "it's still a sound coin…"

As I said before, hopefully nobody lost their shirt by taking their crap seriously.

Twits!

It's just like one poster said, they pump, dump, rinse, and repeat….winners only those that sold on the pump.

The selloff continues...
312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: MapleCoin To Launch March 22nd on: April 21, 2014, 11:48:58 PM
same dev from mazacoin this is a scam DO NOT MINE THIS SHITCOIN

...and how is MAZACOIN a scam? Did I miss something?

I wouldn't say mazacoin is necessarily a scam. The creators just made a ton of mistakes ... and Payu evidently signed on a less than professional dev. I'm not sure if AP is still with maza or not, but Boxxa is.

Interestingly Ap/Boxxa has also been accused of stealing away Greececoin. And Australia Coin strangely has the same announcement font/appearance as Greececoin does. They may be churning out nation coins, I suppose.

understood -- and BTW these nation coins (I mean those that usually come as "countryName" plus "coin") are some of the dumbest ideas in the entire Crypto space anyway, defying the entire concept of what DECENTRALIZED p2p Crypto coins or wider "Bitcoin Neutrality" should be.

Greececoin, Australiacoin, Germanycoin, Nigeriacoin, Spaincoin, BullCityCoin and even EuroCoin, MeditarraneanCoin and Auroracoin (the row of idiocities is endless) -- they all failed to get the first thing/basic concept of real Cryptos (even if they claim they were supposedly "open" to "outsiders" which they are not really), namely that they can only succeed if used internationally. Focusing on ANY geographic area preempts the whole BTC concept (as well as the one of viable Altcoins) though!

Let them all fail as miserably as they deserve, this is what *competition among currencies* is all about. Let the free market decide -- and soon (for the sake of saving unnecessary hashing power and tons of CO2 and electricity wasted)...

Gotta disagree on this.  lol  You're pretty much arguing there should only be 1 coin for everything, geography aside;  like Bitcoin could serve the purpose of all. Possibly, but much better to not.

Just like existing currencies, there can be many reasons for having a unique crypto currency for countries.  The price of bacon in Canada is different than in Greece.  The price of gas is different in Canada and the US…although a gas coin could confuse that.  lol  Isolating value to the crypto currency, as we have done via the papered currency, serves no harm. As well, there may be other unique properties that relate only to Canadians (i.e.; Cdn highway tolls, Cdn taxes (some day…lol), Cdn beer, Cdn maple syrup, Cdn smokes, Cdn poutine, Cdn Beavertails, etc.), where a MapleCoin may some day enhance your purchase?  It might just take away the notion of how/what things are in other countries, and allow everyone to deal within the scope of our own products, within the distribution of our country, as the dollar does.  In many ways it's cleaner, and easier for some people to grasp?

Why not have more?  In the same way the govt's spew paper money within their country borders? it's only digital computations?  Why not segregate some of these computations to build localized coins?  If they can all have value some day, assuming the hundreds of millions of dollars being invested to bring the digital currencies to the mass population, then why not?  I would much rather own some MapleCoin here in Canada, than Bitcoin, if I can acquire the same value and usability for the comparative number of coins.

Then again, some countries are more proud than others…I wouldn't own a Quebec coin before a MapleCoin.  lol

I also believe the crypto currencies could replace the existing dollar some day, so I am way-out there.  :-)

sure -- good points.

I still don't see why these should not be handled by ANY kind of Altcoin, i e I don't think that the concept of a *nation* coin is necessary or even appropriate for "cyberspace" as it is traditionally borderLESS.

Also, I am NOT against multiple Crypto currencies -- quite the contrary, I think it's necessary to fix Bitcoin's, and Litecoin's etc for that matter, flaws and have competing concepts and systems in Cryptoland.

When it comes to taking care of particular cuontries' particular customs, conventions, facts of life, local price differences  etc, I still don't see why this should not be handled by ANY kind of Crypto currency (or fiat) as prices can be adapted or converted as we are used to. I mean, a loaf of bread could easily be BTC 0.0091 in the U. S. or BTC 0.00079 in Mexico with similar weightings if dealing in litecoins, mintcoins,  doge, or peercoins ...?

While I hope for a healthy amount of competing Crypto currencies that bring technological aspects of their own to the table each, I just don't want to see our "new found" internationalization and chances of borderless commerce and zero-cost transactions go away for some renewed and narrow-minded local compartmentalization caused by "nation coins" replacing more universal ones.

Good points too.

I am mixed as to what I believe will be successful in the crypto currency world in the years to come.  There's a lot of $ being invested to bring the technology to the people (000's of millions).  How this will happen has yet to be seen.  My guess is that there will be new ways to use digital currencies popping up all over the place. I can see new technology making well structured coins/APIs easy to be used by merchants; that's the obvious improvement/advancement.  What will make one coin more desirable than another, I don't know.  I am not speaking from a technical perspective, as I have a good understanding as to that area, I am just saying I cannot predict how the non-technical person will choose which coin is appropriate, if multiple options are presented to them…example; to purchase everything from Canadian Maple syrup, to new cars?  Maybe they will choose to use "their" country coins, to try and spur "their" growth, like a local economy? Maybe there will be local rewards for using MapleCoin someday (like 50% off hockey pucks @ Canadian Tire)?  lol Maybe passion, politics, sports, Huh, will play a role in their decision to use different coins; if the technology advances to the point where they can use many?

Time will tell.  Hopefully there's a lot more coins in the picture in 5 years, and hopefully those will be some of the ones I have mined  :-)

Well i would say that its pretty clear that the multipools are dumping really hard right now, after all Asian food is pretty nasty.
However all that will get much less in 2 days after the halve takes place and it will completely stop when the POW ends.
Will the price remain the same until then ? Well ofc not ... it will go up and it will go down, but with 550 btc volume on mintpal and a healthy buy support i dont see a reason to much lower. Also hopefully the giveaway system will start working after the halve so this will promote the coin a lot.
And as i do not just talk i just invested 3 more btc into Asia coins Smiley

There's not enough of you to try and support the coin…the pump has happened, and the buying will dry now.  Unfortunately, the dumping will still continue until this coin is down much more :-(

Why are you here? - if you don't support the coin please leave.

PS TO THE MOON! I just bought a shitload dirt cheap! And no, I am not representing a multipool.

I support it, just not a twit, like the pumpers in this forum.

P.s. guess what, it's still going down!?

It will go down all day because of the massive dumping from multipool mining.  Not hard to figure out…if ya get by the shit spewing in this forum!!!

Ok, thanks for clarification.

Are these actual thanks for something previous or just random posts from random people?

No, I believe they are now both genuinely clarified!
Hey DR G, you missed an O, lol

Wow, you guys are really good.  Do you actually get paid for this puke?  LOL  Or, are you the same guy with 5 id's?  That's my guess…because there really couldn't be more than 1 complete LOSER hanging around yelling "To the moooooon!" 10x a day while the coin sinks.

Yeah, that's it.  BITCOINBLUES says HOLD, HOLD YOUR COINS EVERYONE….while it plummets 50%….BUYERS EVERYWHERE WANT YOUR COINS!!!

What a load a crud.

Down almost 50% in the last few hours…maybe you folks would like to give some $ to those people you tried to suck in to buy the coin?!

Coin is less than 24 hrs old on Minty and its already a write off according to you.... lol

Its only down 50 points from its high's in the last few hrs. That's what you said right - last few hrs!

So, in fact your the twit, because you don't understand or can read market data.

Asiacoin is doing fine!

YA, YA, that's it.  For sure.   Jerkoff.  What a pile a crap spewing out of your keyboard.

Pump some more, so you can dump some more.  Play on. Oh yeah, to the moon!  To the mooooon!!!!   f'ing joke.

Coin will be fine…as long as the pumpers (like you), and the others "trolling" here, stay the hell away from it!

This is madness, fist a DUMP with the deposits incoming, then a Mega PUMP from whales.

Just sold 100k on for over 2 BTC…could not resist taking some profit, as it looks to be way overpriced.

People hype mintpal, only to get people buying, to dump more coins.  More "to the moons", means sell your coins quick, before the dump, as the pumpers are out!

Will buy back of more when it comes down by 30%-40% over the next 24 hours.

I think you're wrong. If you look at history of AC, you could hardly see any bubble, so there is high chance a huge peak is waiting for us.

Not to mention all the exchanges are whales by themselves. They do not add AC to their platform just for the dump.

+1 Grin

Pumpers everywhere…let's see who's right over the next 24 hours ;-)

I sold at 0.00002280. It's already down about 6 or 7 %, and about 10%+ from the initial pump factor.  My guess it'll be around 0.00001600 within a few hours.

Was pretty easy to see, unfortunately, just a little too hard for many folks to understand.  These forums are full of idiots related to the multipool sites pumping coins for the sole purpose of you buying the coins they dump. This coin (primarily, and one other) made them their best profits in many months (http://poolpicker.eu/text.php)…at your expense. When you see morons posting the words "To the moooooon", etc, realize it's just a bunch a crap!

Hopefully nobody lost too much of their savings buying overpriced coins?

TO THE MOOOOON!!!!

where are you now pumpers?!

Come out come out wherever you are?!
