301  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: help plz. i got scammed for 500$ from rollbit help razer on: February 11, 2024, 10:27:34 PM
and again since u asked me the 500 was a tip from a buddy people can tip each other on rollbit.. so he did and i try to cash and well got banned and money gone funny i did kyc as they ask and still banned

So you tried to cash in a $500 tip you got from someone without gambling at all? I'm pretty sure no casino would allow that because it's against the AML policy.

for some people like me 500$ is quite a lot of money .

In that case, I suggest that you quit gambling altogether.  It sounds like it's causing you more harm than good.
302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Opinions on the Pi network on: February 11, 2024, 09:14:01 PM
it still hasn't been listed on Binance or any other exchange platform for buying and selling. What may be the reason?

They been promising to launch their mainnet for years now, and people still mining away at these tokens that don't got any actual value yet.  Seems like a waste of time if you ask me.

Look, maybe I'm being too harsh here but I just don't see how they gonna make this work long-term.  They gotta figure out some way to make the tokens useful for folks, or the economy they trying to build just wont be sustainable. Sure they got a buncha followers right now, but that's mostly cuz people wanna cash out their Pi for real money someday.  What happens when that don't work out?
303  Economy / Reputation / Re: What’s wrong with the user(learn Bitcoin) on: February 11, 2024, 06:46:54 PM
he was last active on the 8th of this month and his last post was on the 6th.

Wait a minute! Dude was active just a few days ago, and you're already sounding the alarm? Relax, some folks have lives beyond our little forum bubble. Maybe he's conquering Everest, winning the lottery, or just, you know, living.  Cheesy

But hey, Crypto Library already hit the nail on the head - a quick peek at his post history reveals this absence was pre-planned. Case closed.
304  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Browser app with a crypto wallet. on: February 11, 2024, 06:32:29 PM
Other reason why the browser wallets are not good because they can get hacked, notwithstanding that other wallets can get hacked also but on a contrary the browser wallets are easier to hack as any one can or might use the browser on your phone and still have access to the wallet on it without your consent.

I don't really follow your logic there.  Sure, any wallet could theoretically be hacked, but being accessible doesn't automatically make something more hackable.  Just 'cause someone can use your browser doesn't mean they can access your wallet - Strong passwords, encryption and proper browser security still play a crucial role in protecting your funds.

Take MetaMask as an example and millions of users have trusted that browser extension wallet for ages now.  It's not somehow more hackable just 'cause you access it in your browser versus a standalone app or something.  At the end of the day how vulnerable a wallet really is comes down to the precautions taken by both the developers and the actual users.  So accessibility on its own doesn't say much.  Theres a lot more to the security equation than that.
305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a wallet that stores more than one crytpo on your desktop? on: February 11, 2024, 06:10:00 PM
Most of the answers I have read from the Op question, have not answered it. Though some are good. Op asked a simple question which is in the below quote.

Is there a wallet that stores more than one crytpo on your desktop?

and I don't think there is such wallet does exist, we are talking about one wallet hodling different cryptocurrency inside.

Please read other replies in the thread before posting nonsense.

I think it is not possible. All the projects (coins) has their own wallet to hodle their coin. And if Op is looking for a wallet that he can use to hold or store his coin on a desktop computer, then, it would be a wallet like "Trustwallet" because in Trustwallet there are different wallet addresses which one can use to store different cryptos but even at that the coin can't be stored in one wallet but in separate wallets. Therefore I don't know where one wallet can be used to store different cryptos.

I'm sure he meant wallet software, not a single network (blockchain) wallet. But even if it is the latter, your statement is still not true. There are numerous wallets that support multiple crypto assets. For example, most wallets that communicate with the Ethereum blockchain support multiple crypto assets (tokens) on a single address. ETH, USDT, USDC, DAI, SHIB... to name a few.
306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a wallet that stores more than one crytpo on your desktop? on: February 10, 2024, 10:43:11 AM
OP can you name 2-3 coins that you are interested in storing? I don't have experience on altcoins, but perhaps other people can help more easily.
Monero, btc,

Cake Wallet is an option to consider (https://cakewallet.com/).  Available on mobile and some desktop platforms (only Linux and MacOS currently), and it claims to be open source code (github).  Passed 8 of 10 tests in security audits on walletscrutiny.com, but they apparently had some trouble fully validating reproduced builds from the source code.  The wallet handles XMR, BTC, and LTC currencies - but I suggest you only use the wallet for moderate amounts for daily use and not for long-term storage.
307  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Is it possible to convert WIF to seed phrases (BIP39)? on: February 10, 2024, 09:40:08 AM
I have a vanity Bitcoin address that I have been safely holding for years. I just love vanity addresses and I want to generate some more but I want to back up and safely store them on paper as seed phrases instead of long and ugly WIF key format. Is this possible?

No, that's not possible.

Basically, you can turn any random 128 or 256 bits string into a BIP39 mnemonic. But that seed phrase won't be able to spit out a particular private key you wanted. Every BIP39 mnemonic you feed into the wallet must go through the hash function first, which is a one-way function and cannot be reversed.
308  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you met this kind of investors? on: February 10, 2024, 09:21:00 AM
do you have the opinion that lone investors who are not members of any kind of forum or community about bitcoins or cryptocurrency can still be very successful investors?

You definitely don't need to join some exclusive Bitcoin club or community to make money trading or investing in cryptocurrency.  I've watched my buddy get into Bitcoin all on his own, doing his own research online and whatnot, without reaching out to any forums or groups for tips.  He taught himself everything he needed to know and has done very well over the last few years.

I think communities can help people learn faster and all, but if someone wants to go solo and figure stuff out themselves more power to them.  There's enough solid information out there that an average Joe could totally pick up enough from Google and YouTube tutorials and blogs to get a basic understanding and  you can lead a horse to water and all that.
309  Economy / Reputation / Re: The SportsBet.io Gang on: February 09, 2024, 01:22:54 PM
I did post a link some posts above and in the original Sportsbet thread but the article is very long and tough to see lump sum payment.

https://kingcasinobonus.uk/online-casinos/microgaming-casinos/

Not only is it a lump sum but they don't pay in USDT.

But I don't see how that's relevant. Even if the information is correct (it's not from an official source as far as I can see), Microgaming is not affiliated with Games Global Limited or part of the "Games Global" brand. Moreover, on the official website, you can find information that Microgaming has sold its distribution business and online games portfolio to Games Global Limited in 2022.
https://www.microgaming.co.uk/microgaming-closes-acquisition-of-distribution-business-and-games-portfolio/

So it seems that you are making accusations and jumping to conclusions based on outdated information that may or may not be true.

Games Global owns the Microgaming slots. Look at the article I posted. The player won on Wheel of Wishes. There are no assumptions. I wouldn’t do that. I looked for duplicate sources before making an accusation.

One article was dated Jan. 4, 2024 on lump sum. It’s in the other thread somewhere.

Not only did I double check, we can also think of it logically. Games Global has the €2 Million seed money plus what’s collected from all the casinos. They aren’t giving that to Sportsbet to pay in USDT installments.

Edit, my linked article was updated Jan. 26, 2024. It’s current information. I read a ton of articles on these slots after Steve and Jeremy said that I was wrong. It was Wheel of Wishes progressive slots.

Well, I still disagree with your judgment. Why don't you just contact Games Global for an official statement before accusing someone of lying based on speculation and unverified information?

311  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day trading or Long term on: February 09, 2024, 12:01:11 PM
Day trading involves more techniques, self discipline and rational decision making.
Which do you prefer and think is better

Day trading and holding long term have some similarities, but differ quite a bit too.  Both involve risks and needing self-control and smart choices to hopefully make some profit, just in different ways.

With day trading, you're watching prices a lot trying to catch small ups and downs to make quick profits.  It's a ton of work staring at charts, takes skill to do well, and can stress people out.

Holding is more hands-off, waiting for bigger price jumps over months or years and  so it takes patience rather than effort.  The gains come slower but you avoid constantly monitoring markets and charts.

I'd say they appeal to different personality types.  Day trading is for go-getter number crunchers glued to their screens.  Holding works better for laidback investors playing the long game.  But both can be solid ways to generate profit.
312  Economy / Reputation / Re: The SportsBet.io Gang on: February 09, 2024, 11:32:10 AM
It’s not wording, it’s intent. Steve said it's being paid out in installment payments in USDT by Sportsbet. It's not true. It was paid in one lump sum by Games Global. There are a lot of scam accusations against Sportsbet as well as a credibility issue.

How do you know that WowPot progressive jackpot winnings are paid out in one lump sum? There is no such information in the official announcement by Games Global:
https://www.gamesglobal.com/Media/games_global_progressive_jackpot_wowpot_pays_out_38_4_million_eur

People were asking in the thread who paid. I then decided to search it to answer them. I posted that Games Global paid.

Then Steve and Jeremy came in and said that it was Sportsbet and they are paying in USDT installments after people asked about it being on the blockchain. After some back and forth, I sent a PM to Jeremy and told him I know it’s a lie. Just let it go because I don’t want to keep picking on Sportsbet. He then stopped.

But again, how did you get that information, or is it just your assumption?
I still don't see any proof of your claim, and you accuse Steve and Jeremy of lying without any valid evidence.  Don't get me wrong,  I have no affiliation with SportsBet, and I'm not here to defend them. Rather, I simply seek to reach a reasonable conclusion.
313  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have a habit of tracking your gambling progress? on: February 09, 2024, 09:28:04 AM
Do you have a habit of tracking your gambling progress?

A lot of gambling sites will actually keep tabs on how you're doing for you, which can be nice I guess.  And I know some gamblers use those stats to help control their gambling and stay disciplined which could be useful. Personally though, I tend not to check up on my progress too much.  Seeing those stats can get kind of disheartening, you know?  Getting bummed out seeing I'm down $200 bucks over the last month really isnt helping my morale.  So I just play my game and try not to overthink it. And I'm not playing with huge stacks of cash or anything here so I don't really feel a need to closely monitor all my bets and wins and losses and whatnot.

You make the assumption that I am claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto, I never once said I was.  I did, help to or make the forum.  It's funny that no one believes me.  Lol. It's just a forum.  BTC

You are an idiot (imho)! Forum rules do not allow idiocy, such as spamming and trolling. Moderators have the right to delete posts, lock the topic or even ban members who do not respect the rules of the forum. Of course, you're always welcome to engage in constructive discussions and share your thoughts on any topic. That's what freedom of speech is all about!

316  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you beleive in the concept of "Luck"? on: February 08, 2024, 11:58:43 AM
Only a fool wouldn't believe in luck op since it's literally associated with everything in life. It definitely exists and impacts our lives in good and bad ways implying good luck and bad luck.

That's bullshit!  Is it possible to definitively prove the existence of 'luck' through scientific methods? Can experiments be designed to generate measurable results and replicate them, adhering to the principles of the scientific method?  Then why do you call people "fools" just because they don't believe in some made-up concept that is impossible to prove scientifically?

"Luck" is a subjective concept, meaning its interpretation varies widely depending on individual perspectives, beliefs, and experiences. What one person considers luck might be attributed to skill, chance, or even premonition by another. Also, historically speaking, the concept of "luck" and the line between luck and scientific understanding is constantly evolving. As our knowledge expands, what was once attributed to luck may be explained through scientific principles in the modern age. And there is no reason to believe that this trend will stop in the future.

While chance events certainly occur, I believe we have more control over outcomes through our choices and actions than we sometimes recognize.  Focusing too heavily on luck, good or bad, can discount the real and profound impacts of personal responsibility preparation, and persistence.  Outcomes often have understandable causes, even if those causes are not immediately apparent.  So, rather than leave success or failure to the whims of luck, I think it wiser to reflect carefully on past events to identify the causal forces in play so we might make better decisions moving ahead.
317  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you beleive in the concept of "Luck"? on: February 08, 2024, 10:21:39 AM
Here's my take on luck and how I see it playing out in life.  I'd say I'm about average on the luck scale - things tend to work out more often than not, but I don't expect to win the lottery anytime soon.  As for gambling, I don't really do it enough to compare my luck there versus regular life.

I do think some folks are born under more fortuitous stars than others and that shows up as good fortune in small and large ways.  Like always catching green lights or finding $20 bills on the sidewalk.  For me, carrying around a lucky penny or rabbit's foot doesn't make a lick of difference but I do think staying positive and open to opportunity can increase the feeling of being lucky even when things dont always go your way.  At the end of the day, "We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand."
318  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Struggle now to invest in Bitcoin for a bright future. on: February 08, 2024, 10:10:09 AM
If I were to offer my top pieces of financial advice, I'd say first take a good, hard look at what's coming in and whats going back out.  Trim some of the fat where you can - the morning lattes, the streaming services you never watch etc.  Putting even a small bit of spending on a diet can free up extra money you didn't realize you had.

Once you've opened up some wiggle room, start setting aside cash in an emergency fund and  doesn't need to be invested or accumulating interest really - just there for a rainy day when life hands you a big unexpected expense.  Having this cushion means you don't panic-sell assets at a huge loss.  Been there myself too many times.

With your spare cash put away for a safety net, then you can start investing ongoing excess income into longer-term growth vehicles like Bitcoin.  It stings less watching market swings when your rent isn't relying on it.

Obviously easier said than done to reinvent financial habits.  But keeping the focus on building up cash reserves before investing has served me well over the years.  Few things suck more than losing money you need to keep the lights on.  The boring stuff like budgeting and saving comes first.
319  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: process flow of transactions > mempool / full-nodes on: February 08, 2024, 08:29:13 AM
John's full node, doesn't immediately notice a transaction until it's confirmed or added to a block. Because John didn't use his own node for this, but instead used a different Blockchain explorer, the transaction needs to pass through the mempool of that service's node. Other nodes connected to the network might also see the transaction while it's in the mempool. However, John's Bitcoincore full node won't show the updated balance until the transaction is confirmed or added to a block.

I'm not so sure this is correct.

John's Bitcoincore full node will likely see the transaction, even in an unconfirmed state, because the transaction will be propagated from other nodes' mempools. This is exactly how you can see incoming transactions in your wallet even before they are confirmed.

I haven't posted here in a very long time, but something I saw today had me cracking up. We gotta preserve this gem for future generations!

User: Yamane_Keto

to be hacked, the hacker needs the wallet file + the password, and if he does not know the password, he will not risk guessing it, especially with the possibility of sending your coins at any time.
Therefore, as long as you have access to the seeds and store them well, it is better for the password to be very long and unique. Using common words means that you are leaving your money outside your home.

Three sentences. Zero sense.  And the cherry on top? A pink glow for bonus points!  Cheesy
