302  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Private Key on: October 12, 2014, 08:33:30 AM
If I'm using a blockchain.info wallet how do I see my own private key.

Obviously I know my wallet address but where is my private key visible?

When u get into blockchain.info wallet dashboard, u'll find a Download Paper Wallet link at the bottom right corner. Click on that to download it in PDF format. Your private key is there in WIF format.

Sorry if this has been answered already, which exchange do you plan to use for the ICO?

i would like to also know if this is being offered through an exchange like bittrex or escrowed?

with regard to mining this coin can existing cryptonite (XCN) or is that cryptonote (xmr, xdn, bcn, etc) GPU mining software be used?

is bergstake tied to the mining award address used during the mining process? and if so how does pool mining affect this? will any premine you control be POS staked in the future?

Great questions but will pass it on to Jaybny!

Meanwhile, here's a pig to look at:

Hello,

I have been consulting with Breakout Gaming regarding the post-ICO business model, which will be a legal, licensed operator, with offerings across igaming markets , and across a variety of games.

Feel free to ask about the gaming business to be launched, and its unique features to support BRO, one that will serve post-ICO to bring in traditional fiat gamers to the BRO economy.

David

Will you offer poker and casino to clients in USA?? That's probably the most important question??If not there is a little value in the project

I tend to disagree with your business analysis for a variety of reasons:

1. There is a big gaming world outside the US, so finding "value" only in terms of the US markets is somewhat artificially limiting the scope of gaming opportunities.

2. In any event, there are business models and gaming channels available to US residents that can be offered.  Breakout will be offering as many varieties of gaming as it can, legally (and profitably) , across US State markets, including fantasy games, skill games and the like.

3. A open-ended term like "poker and casino" also tends to cover more ground than may be intended in your question. There even are many variants of poker and casino models offered legally to US customers as well.  None of them do much to promote cryptocurrency adoption or offer prizing in crypto.

Gzesh covers US markets earlier.  I also quoted his introduction.

When does ICO end?

The ICO purchase window will be 3 weeks long.  Once the purchase period starts, there will be a new countdown to the deadline.

309  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Caution - Large scale phishing attempt (targeting blockchain.info wallets) on: October 05, 2014, 09:09:11 PM
Seems to be a genuine phishing attack. Read OP's link above. ^^^

Typing in a valid Blockchain Identifier brings you to "https://bbckchain.info". Obviously, do not click this link.

Wait, I don't understand this part.  Huh

If I copy paste my identifier, the one which is provided when you make a blockchain wallet, it can't take u to bbockchain mentioned above, can it?

I mean copy pasting the entire link into the address bar, blockchain.info/wallet/ --identifier--
When you log into your blockchain.info wallet you should manually type in the address into your browser (I would not even use bookmarks) and if your identifier is not prefilled (because of the lack of cookies) then you should copy/paste your identifier into the identifier field to login.

Excellent tips

In traditional Fantasy Sports contests, pools last the course of an entire season.  With Daily Fantasy Sports, a contest can last just one day or a week.  You can draft a new team each and every day and when the games are settled that night, a winner is declared.  Winners are paid, then the process repeats.

As the days matches are played, players on your custom drafted roster can score points.  If the sport is baseball, your player might score 3pts for a base hit.  If the sport is League of Legends, your player might score 2pts for a kill.  As the action unfolds, you can view the progress of your team on your mobile throughout the day.

312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who needs anon coins? on: October 05, 2014, 02:40:43 AM
It is not just privacy. It is fungibility https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fungibility and the protection from taint. the taint can be completely unrelated to one's lawful activities. Keep in mind that currency is contaminated with cocaine and other illegal drugs. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contaminated_currency. Fungibility ensures one's coins cannot be taken away because some one ten steps back in the blockchain allegedly used them in some illegal activity.

Some good points about fungibility. I would prefer opt-in anonymity with each transaction.

how does the crypto game work?
its modeled after fantasy sports, but with alt-coins, instead of players..

edit: sic

Crypto games are based initially on the familiar fantasy sports format --
Picking players (coins) in positions (sets of coins) for offense (market cap going up), and defense (mkt cap going down) for time periods of 1-day, 1-week, 4-weeks, and longer.  Other variations will be introduced too.
More info in "Innovative Game: Fantasy Crypto" in:
http://fundraiser.breakoutgaming.com/gaming-platform/

Crypto games will give people a way to take a position on those coins they think are 'useful and going somewhere good', and those they think are 'not adding value nor going anywhere good'.

They're designed as a fun way to test and potentially reward our savvy about coins.  We'll find out things like --
- Do the factors I think determine coin success actually drive their market cap?
- How about big gaps: Which ones are really under appreciated -- or are ready to crash?
- By showing averages of our picks on each coin, will we get good predictions of future winners and losers?
- What would you like to see in these games?

what altcoins will be eligible for the game?

To be used, the altcoins will need to be big enough (measured in market cap) and liquid enough (average 24-hour volume).  This means coins will typically be selected from those in the top, say 70, biggest market cap list.  Price movements become too noisy to use when coins get too small or thinly traded.  And, the coins included at the start of any particular game may be different from those in other games.

so you are saying that there will probably be the top 70 coins from coinmarketcap that we can choose from? Roll Eyes

Yep. Though more exactly, that's the basic pool from which coins (fewer than 70) will be selected for you to choose from in each game.

so how much will the prizze pool be? how much can i win and who am i competing against?

Hi Mayhem007,

Just like other Fantasy Sports games, the prize pools will vary depending on the number of players and the buy-in amount.  You will be competing against against other players and their lineup of coins.

PoS coupons minted at mining, non-transferable, with wide distribution... could be the answer to the huge energy sink of PoW mining.

Like Auroracoin? Epic fail.

Actually, I was thinking more like the BRO coin that's been announced.

So explain how exactly you think there will be wide distribution.

The PoS coupons called Bergstake, will be distributed in the ICO and followed by a lengthy period of PoW cpu mining before the PoS kicks in.  In the interest of full disclosure, I am associated with the BRO coin.  I'd love to hear your opinion on the model cbeast.  Perhaps I can give you more info in a pm. Don't want to derail this thread with what may be construed as a pitch.  Grin

Ebay CEO finally surrender to Bitcoin.
His company Ebay is far behind many other big fortune 500 companies that's currently accepting Bitcoin.
One of the biggest company Dish Network beat them to the race. Ebay is now left behind to eat dirt.

They are now looking at many different angles on how to let their customers pay using Bitcoin on Ebay.
