303  Economy / Economics / Re: If Greece defaults on: July 16, 2015, 08:50:14 AM
As I've been dreaming of a Grexit for many years, it seems I'm going to get what I want at least. The Greeks have a choice, follow the way shown by the other EU members, which will be hard but safe, or follow their own way to misery. Latest news are towards the second solution. The Greek banks will remain closed. Forever.

man there is already a verdict about the grexit, and it is that there is no grexit, they will help them with more than 80B of money, but in exchange they need to show a solid plan to retrieve their position as a EU country and pay their debts

They will never be able to pay their debts as they are. Remain to see if they will continue to be an EU member with continuous debts, if their debt will be restructured or will be a probably Greexit in the years to come.

Well maybe this time Greece will slowly develop different ways to change the habits and lifestyle of many Greeks living the American Dream Bubble. This could be the real make ir or break it time for Greece. It has three years to pull its socks up and hopefully get the unsustainable debt restructured and under control. This debt is like a tumor growing and destroying everyone. I hope now Greeks in general will be motivated to become a nation of savers and also start rebuilding the country instead of taking all the money out. The big sharks took out 250 billion Euros over the last few years instead of investing that in their Country..These peeps should be put on trial for killing Greece.

Do you really think that people who have undergone three weeks of capital controls will now want to save their money? If/when it comes to my country I know I wouldn't trust the banks again.
304  Economy / Gambling / Re: UK Gambling Commission says UK based sites need a license! on: July 16, 2015, 08:31:25 AM
Wanted to chime in here, Chris Sullivan also sent us the letter on June 15th, 2015. We've replied back asking him to clarify as we do not use any 'financial institutions' to process any UK-based transactions, to which he sent another pdf email with the 'money's worth' response today.

We've emailed him back with our statement that we do not officially service any UK-based residents as our deposits are anonymous and we do not monitor IPs. We have also told him we would consider paying for the license if he accepted BTC, and to please let us know the price of said license as we operate exclusively in bitcoin and do not have sterling for him.

Last time he/his agency took a month to reply. I'll keep you guys posted.

Adam

With them taking a month to reply, doesn't really look like its a serious issue to them . It might just be a warning to atleast have half of the sites stop accepting UK customers which indeed have.

I would wait to see what their reply is first. They act as an authority in many minds and whilst they may not be able to carry out any threats in the bitcoin world, they most probably can in the fiat world. I am keen to see what their response to Adam is. Thanks for asking the question Adam.

Yes, they should definitely wait for the reply. I didn't mean they shouldn't and ignore future threats from those people. Just that most of the other site have given up on this and have accepted to their demands of not accepting UK customers unless they obtain a license , I feel they should have responded with questions instead of just giving up on UK customers.

I don't look at it as giving up on UK customers, more like giving in to threats. But yes. Asking questions is good. However, fear of fines in the meantime is understandable.

Show me a country that hasn't had continuous debts.

Preparing for 300.

fun starts on fri  Wink

Today the price will move. I'm not sure which way. It depends on Greece.

If the reason that BTC rises is even linked to Greece, but tonight Greece parliament will decide so we'll have to wait a but longer.

Any idea what time tonight this is expected?

If Greece agrees to deal price will drop, if they do not agree price will rise. If there is no decision price will rise. Thems my guesses.

Only if the Greece people would ask their government to buy 1 billion euro in bitcoin from their bail out money they would have a great future has a potential bitcoin economy.

That would be news. a market order would look nice on the graphs.
313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: News: Putin on: July 14, 2015, 11:26:19 PM
I wonder why some people think BTC is banned in Russia. Apart from our Internet regulator banning some websites (a decision overturned by the court later), nothing happened. There's no ban, there's regulatory uncertainty. And our central bank has already said it is willing to regulate Bitcoin to some extent.

Because of Western propaganda maybe?

Oh, this thread is getting bigger and bigger!

Anyways, is it relatively safe to move my entire savings into Bitcoin? I want help from experts about this..

For sure, it's.

Why wouldn't it be not ?

Price may drop to $100 or something like this and I can lose everything very fast, right? Is it even possible? I'm really afraid of this.

Well, you will find my reply highly optimistic and realistic for me, so please don't understand as I'm encouraging you or anything.

First of all, always don't risk what you can't afford to lose.

Second, since first doesn't apply for me, because I'm all in, I can't see that bitcoin will go to zero or will take a high dip to $100, even if it took, I will be ultra-happy so I can buy more coins.

Third, as I always say, forget about the normal Joe like you and me, do you think all that bitcoin startups and VC with all effort, money and power put into bitcoin, is put without seeing tomorrow ? We are talking here about millions of millions.

At last, I see a better tomorrow with Bitcoin, not only me, a lot here agrees with me and we as a community march together for a better tomorrow, and let this reply be the witness Wink

ive read this numerous times - care to explain?

I nearly asked the same question but figured he meant from new income.

Pardon me edgar and eerygarden, could you please elaborate more your question and I will gladly reply to it Smiley

Thank you.

How can you buy more if you are all in? With new income right?

3. Bitcoin: The End of Money As We Know It documentary. According to the producer Torsten Hoffman, the documentary should get approx 100M views worldwide. It will help a lot the education of mainstream users and hopefully change the bad narrative people have over bitcoin.

I think this is out July 14th. Not long now.

it is available at vimeo now for $5.49 https://vimeo.com/ondemand/bitcoin

It wont get 100m views if a price remains.

Agreed
You can't even pay with btc

Not cool  Undecided
