301  Bitcoin / Hardware / power antminerU2 with ATX power supply on: June 24, 2014, 04:28:19 PM
I first wanted to ask if anyone had tried to splice in an atx power supply to usb extension cables as shown here

http://www.cryptocointips.com/need-more-power-for-your-overclocked-antminer-u1s-and-block-erupters/

I have followed the steps in this article, and I am having a problem. The cables are spliced correctly, and I can plug in a usb flash drive and it works great... The issue is when I plug in the antminer, the power light comes on but thats it. The computer will not see it at all.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?
302  Bitcoin / Mining support / cgminer with antminer u2 question on: June 20, 2014, 01:37:09 AM
So I am having a problem getting my miner to connect to anything other than one place.

I go to a command prompt and enter this:

cgminer.exe --bmsc-options 115200:20 -o stratum+tcp://192.241.166.175:5000 -u <USERNAME> -p <PASS> --bmsc-freq 0781

and it connects and mines ok.

If I put in the hostname,
cgminer.exe --bmsc-options 115200:20 -o stratum+tcp://east-us.megamultipool.com :5000 -u <USER> -p <PASS> --bmsc-freq 0781

I get this:

 [2014-06-19 21:33:05] -----------------start nonce------------------
[2014-06-19 21:33:05] Bmsc send golden nonce
[2014-06-19 21:33:06] Probing for an alive pool
[2014-06-19 21:33:06] Failed to resolve (?wrong URL) east-us.megamultipool.com:
5000
[2014-06-19 21:33:16] Waiting for work to be available from pools.

I get this same error with any pool I try... I can do an nslookup and get the ip address.
I have the same issue on two different computers, so I can assume its something that I am doing wrong.

The miners will work with megamultipools ip only. No other pools work.

I have tried this using cgmin 3.12.0 and 3.8.5
I am on windows 7 and have replaced the drivers with zdiag, and they work correctly with one single address only.

Anyone have thoughts? Im pulling out my hair,.

Thanks for the info... none of the other coin wallets I have seem to be that slow...
This is the only one without a gui... So I assumed it was my fault

Im not sure if this posted... but am I doing something wrong? My bytecoin wallet loads and is working properly, however when I type exit it takes 20+ min to store the blockchain. Im on a core 2 extreme with 4 gigs of ram... its slow but really THAT slow?
