301  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Refund address / Affiliate address / receiving address - Questions on: July 11, 2017, 03:06:55 AM
EDIT: oh wait, i have a total balance of 0.011 BTC so therefore that must be the maximum amount i can send with the transaction fee taking off? think i have it....thanks again

Yep, that is correct. It is the maximum amount you can send minus the fee. Although a fee of 0.00004809 sounds way too low. I'd recommend using the dynamic fee option to help ensure you get accurate sized fees.
302  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITDICE - 🎲🎲🎲 7 NEW GAMES HAVE BEEN ADDED 🎰🎰🎰 on: July 10, 2017, 03:43:56 AM
This site is pretty awesome Wink I love playing in bitdice.me because it has a probably fair game.

You know what's more fun?  Investing in Bitdice's bankroll.  It takes a little bit of skill because you have to figure out how high of a margin (called kelly in the site) is optimal depending how the site is doing.

Does anybody want to share their strategy on how to adjust the margin at Bitdice?

I think its better to just leave them on one setting as trying to time investments never usually works out in the long run. Setting a higher kelly multiplier will allow for higher profit but also brings a higher risk in the short term.
303  Other / Off-topic / Re: I lost my phone, then I lost my Google Authenticator account. Help me please!! on: July 10, 2017, 03:41:58 AM
You might want to look into using Authy instead in the future. It allows you to save an encrypted copy of your 2FA codes in the cloud in case you ever lose your device.

If you have an old backup of your phone, perhaps it has a copy of the 2FA codes saved in it?
304  Other / Off-topic / Re: EverWing! on: July 10, 2017, 03:38:56 AM
Is it really addictive to play everwing?

I've never played it but I watched a video on it. Looks like it could be fun for awhile but seems like it would get repetitive and boring fairly quickly.
305  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is it true? Spinner is a Toy for a persons with ADHD? on: July 10, 2017, 03:36:59 AM
Yeah, I've read that fidgeting can help allow you to better focus on whatever you are trying to focus on. The spinner toys are a cool little toy that you can fidget with that is supposed to help you better focus.
306  Other / Off-topic / Re: interview questions and answers for a job i applied for on: July 07, 2017, 04:48:19 AM
This might not apply for this particular type of profession, but the Glassdoor website has sample interview questions for some companies but it relies on user submitted data. Alternatively, you could just google for common interview questions as many of those should apply to any type of job interview.

I am curious if they will have any amazing sales or not. I'd be interested to see what tech stuff they will offer as well.

Yep those security locks are there to help prevent unauthorized changes to the withdrawl address with a forced delay after making any changes or disabling. Certainly could be annoying if you enable it on accident hehe.
309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CrowdSale Ended]🌟🌟🌟🌟 NVO Decentralized Exchange | MultiWallet 🌟🌟🌟🌟 on: July 07, 2017, 04:36:51 AM
i would love some help, so i got my coins, i can see them in the link someone provided, however the tokens are going to my account i used with exodus, that being said i would like to import my info onto an electrum wallet so that i can see my coins on an actual wallet.. my question is which electrum wallet would i pick? standard wallet, 2 factor auth wallet, or multi sig wallet? thanks for the help!

I'd recommend using the standard Electrum wallet. Keep in mind that you won't be able to see your NVO tokens in Electrum as it only supports bitcoin, but you should be able to import your bitcoin addresses, etc. If you are trying to import private keys, you'll need to be sure to indicate during the creation of the wallet as the HD wallets with a seed do not support importing private keys.
310  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum on iOS on: July 07, 2017, 04:27:04 AM
we are working on it.

Hi, news for this porting of Electrum? I saw that it exists for OS X but I would also use iOS on iPhone. I hope it will be released soon...

Haven't heard anything recently on it but as far as I know it is still planned.
311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What makes e some ICOs so SUCCESSFUL? on: July 05, 2017, 03:18:46 PM
People are looking for the next big thing and hoping to cash in on an investment.

The ICOs that tend to do the best are the ones that look the most promising and have skilled people working on them. With so many ICOs happening lately, it can be hard to differentiate between the ones that may be successful though.
312  Other / Off-topic / Re: Test in 1 day (advice?) on: July 05, 2017, 03:13:51 PM
Study as much as you can in the time you have left but be sure to get enough sleep. Going on too little sleep can make you think a lot less clearly so it should be avoided if possible.

It looks like I received my tokens as well. What was the exchange rate per BTC or $ or however it was calculated so I can verify my token amounts?
314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How does POS work? on: July 05, 2017, 01:41:55 PM
Hi,

How do you really proof your stake in ETH? Do people with more ETHs have a huge unfair advantage?

Yes, proof of stake means that people with more ETH will earn more ETH through the staking system. I haven't read up too much on Ethereum's POS implementation, but that is at least how it works with Clam. You have a certain percentage chance to stake per coin so having more of the coin increases your chances at staking.

It looks like https://github.com/ethereum/wiki/wiki/Proof-of-Stake-FAQ is a good resource for reading up on ETH's implementation.
315  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Suggestions on: July 05, 2017, 01:37:21 PM
Thank you.

What is the difference between the tab "issues" and "Pull requests" on github? Is a suggestin a Pull request?

The "Pull requests" are for people to submit code that has already been written for review and inclusion in Electrum.

Issues would be the most appropriate place to add suggestions. While it is more commonly used for reporting bugs, I'm pretty sure it can be used for feature suggestions as well.
316  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Do you think Electrum can meet our project needs ? on: July 05, 2017, 01:35:41 PM
I'm pretty sure you should be able to accomplish this using Electrum and its API. I'd guess that most others trying to do a project like this would use bitcoind but I don't really see any reasons you couldn't use Electrum to accomplish this. You wouldn't be able to use HD wallets with bitcoind anyhow.
317  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITDICE - 🎲🎲🎲 7 NEW GAMES HAVE BEEN ADDED 🎰🎰🎰 on: July 04, 2017, 11:55:24 PM
Been getting the Internal Server Error for this site. Can only be fixed if I reset my browser which is a bummer since I have to close all the tabs I'm playing on just to login to this site. BTW I'm using chrome browser.

I've never encountered this error and the site has been working fine. Be aware that you can only have one tab opened to the site at a time as opening a new one will close the sessions in your other tabs.

When does the issue happen for you?
318  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To Gamble or To Invest? on: July 04, 2017, 11:53:42 PM
Gambling is not my cup of tea to make money as I don't have that high risk taking ability so whenever I gamble its only for fun with very low amount so to make money on regular basis I will prefer to invest my money either online or in real world from where I can expect regular returns.

Gambling for fun isnt that popular everyone sees gambling as a way to earn faster.

And if you think that you can earn better in gambling you need to think again. As not all the time you habe the sweetest days.

Actually, I think quite a number of people gamble for fun and the thrill of possibly winning is an added bonus.

In the long run, investing will likely offer a better return but without the entertainment from gambling.
319  Other / Off-topic / Re: Best gpu for mining on: July 04, 2017, 11:50:36 PM
What gpu you guys would recommend me for mining ethereum?  Smiley

The AMD Radeon RX 480 and Radeon RX 580 video cards are pretty good but hard to find as they are sold out most places.

The Nvidia 1070 doesn't look to be one of the better options right now.

Here is a graph I found on performance of different cards:

As you can see, the 1070 has pretty good performance per watt.
320  Other / Off-topic / Re: Have Open Source developers considered Adf.ly links to Core binary downloads? on: July 04, 2017, 11:25:46 PM
Doing this would likely harm the reputation of the open source project. Most users won't want to follow ad-filled links to download an open source application. Besides, most open source projects are hosted on something like GitHub anyway which offers direct downloads.
