301  Other / Off-topic / Re: No interest in gambling if there is no profit or fun to be accountable. on: April 01, 2024, 05:31:09 PM
To me if profits and funs are not featured in gambling then I don't find any Interest in it
To be sincere if I ever find a game that I don't enjoy but keep winning I wouldn't stop gambling there. I will constantly use such platforms and keep making money even if I don't enjoy the game. This is because gambling is all about first the money and the next one is the fun. For me to enjoy gambling I will simply use part of my wins to gamble in games which I enjoy playing.

Bro it's very common among we humans, we mostly do things with interest, when their is nothing to be interested in again in gambling I don't really think it's necessary to continue,  I know that most gamblers always lie to people that they are gambling for fun, which is not true, it's only like 5% of gamblers that gambles for fun,  the remaining 95% of gamblers gambles for the benefits attached to it if it goes their  way, almost all the gamblers I know are gambling with the hope of hitting a jackpot one day, very few are for fun purpose, so if that dream is being removed from the equation, I really don't think anyone would gambles again, so i think that we as humans always goes for things that interest us, if their is no interest, their is no point gambling.
Most gamblers who gamble only because of fun are those who are rich. The majority people who are struggling to make ends meet gamble because they expect to make money from it and I don't think it is wrong to have such a perception. However, it becomes a problem when gamblers depend on gambling as a source of income. Gambling should be seen as a game of chance which means we cannot predict when we might win.
302  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Networking of Bitcoin and bringing Investors onboard is succeeded by testimonies on: April 01, 2024, 05:04:26 PM
Another good ending story about investing in Bitcoin and making a profit. Good to know that your friend has become financially empowered by investing in Bitcoin. I assume she was able to make such a profit within three months because she was fortunate to buy the coin during this period when the price of Bitcoin was rising. I hope she is aware there is a time called bear run when she would have to wait for several months or even years before she could make a profit. However, congratulations to your friends.

306  Economy / Economics / Re: Lock your bank balance on: March 31, 2024, 06:59:49 PM
I know that it is possible to secure a deposit in the bank with any type of asset, but with the possibility of permanent disposal of it, meaning that its owner cannot ask the bank to lock it.
What I would like to ask is whether this product exists in the banking system of your country and why, in your opinion, are there central banks that do not allow it? Also, is this possible on online virtual banks?

Product or services like this one might not be attractive anymore. The world is full of uncertainties that even when you plan there are always unforeseen occurrences. One might assume that anyone who subscribed to this package should have emergency funds that will serve as backup but sometimes these funds are not enough. So you expect someone with health problems to die because of a lack of finances while they have money locked up in a bank or post office. Savings are for the living and not the dead. We all know that it is important to save but there should be an avenue for people to access these funds in times of emergencies. This is why banks provide services like fixed deposits and other savings plans.

I don't think any bank offers such a service except it could be a personal or special agreement with the local bank. I don't know if the central bank of my country approves such service but I think it it might affect the monetary policy of the country especially if it is in foreign currencies like the dollar. I would never advise anyone to engage online virtual banks for these services. Most of these online banks are not under the supervision of the central banks and they can easily scam customers.

307  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: March 31, 2024, 06:24:02 PM
PSG is sure about Mbappe leaving the team and they are getting ready for it, they wanted to pay a huge amount for Mbappe to extend his contract for a longer time and keep this player in the team but they failed and that's why I think PSG got enough money in the hand to hire more superstar players. Enrique was also ready for it so maybe he is thinking about alternative options to take the place of Mbappe in the team.
Some players like Yamal from Barcelona were linked to PSG and it seems they were ready to pay 200 million euros for this player, however, Vini from Real Madrid can be another option.

I don't think PSG will be willing to give Mbappe an improved contract because is currently one of the highest-paid footballers in the history of football. The club gave the French striker the best financial package the last time he renewed his contract and will let him go if he is not willing to remain with them.

But from all indications, the striker is not influenced by money anymore since he has even agreed to take a pay cut in Real Madrid. He wants to pursue personal glory and the club is preparing for his departure. They are building and bringing in young players and are also on the verge of bringing in a new striker to replace Mbappe.  Strikers like Napoli striker Victor Osinhem have been tipped to replace the Frenchman. But for now, it seems the club is focusing on how to get a good outing in the UCL and they might consider transfers after the campaign.
308  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the current bitcoin bull run confirmed now ? on: March 31, 2024, 06:02:26 PM
We had bitcoin touching even $70k not long ago. It has almost doubled in few months. Is this the sign of current bull run. Or we can expect even more movement and then the bull run will be confirmed ?
Bitcoin bull run could be seen as a period where demand is higher than supply. Historically it happens every four years after the Bitcoin halving because miners' reward will be halved. When the reward is halved there is always less supply which makes the price rise because demand will become greater than supply.

But this year's bull run is unique due to the approval of Bitcoin ETF in the US. This approval has made the demand for Bitcoin to be high due to the purchase of these institutional investors. The effect of this is an early increase in the price of Bitcoin to the extent of beating its ATH before the halving. It is expected that the price would increase after the halving which is predicted to happen in April and Bitcoin might hit $100,000 before the end of the bull run.

311  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can family members help a gambling addict? on: March 30, 2024, 11:39:50 AM
Gambling addicts usually don't accept that they have a problem. They will give several reasons why they had to gamble excessively. Most of them hide their struggles from family members especially if they think they would be subjected to discrimination for exposing themselves. But the case might be different if they know that the family will give them some support.
Discrimination is not the reason gambling addicts do not let their family know. They do not let their family know just because gambling is taking much from them and if the family knows that, they may not give him money as they use to. I mean the parents. If it is spouse, they will not let him or her know because it is also taking much from them. If they are winning huge amount, they will let their family know. But they are losing, they do not want to stop gambling and they see no reason why family should know.
Do you know that in some religions gambling is forbidden, but some persons secretly engage in it? Now how do you think such an individual will be seen in a home that is filled with religious fanatics? In some extreme cases, he can be sent packing out of the house because they can view him as a sinner who will defile the home.

It could also lead to financial discrimination in the home. Such a person might not be given access to funds like others. I have seen a man who refused to include his son's name in his will because he felt that he would waste his inheritance on gambling.
312  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can family members help a gambling addict? on: March 30, 2024, 11:20:04 AM
Many people are going through gambling addiction but they manage to keep it a secret from their families and loved ones. The only people that know about their gambling activities are their close friends. In the event that you are one of those close friend to a gambling addict, do you think it is right to tell their loved ones with the intention that they will be able to talk to him and help him overcome his addiction? Can the advice of loved ones even help? What is the most effective way of going about gambling addiction.
Gambling addicts usually don't accept that they have a problem. They will give several reasons why they had to gamble excessively. Most of them hide their struggles from family members especially if they think they would be subjected to discrimination for exposing themselves. But the case might be different if they know that the family will give them some support.

If my friend confides in me about his gambling addiction and doesn't want me to expose it to his family members I would ensure to keep it secret. But if the addiction is becoming excessive and has started affecting him negatively and I have done all I can to reduce his struggles, reporting his case to his family will not be a bad decision. This is because you might be blamed for not telling the family members if anything negative happens to him.

Yeah, loved ones' advice could be very effective. Counselling for parents and other siblings can be effective because they know the best approach to use on the addict. Family members can go to the extent of spending money to get help from professionals.
313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good or Bad - Blackrock Buying BTC on: March 30, 2024, 09:41:49 AM
Every event will always have advantages and disadvantages. Institutional investors will increase Bitcoin awareness and adoption. They will also contribute to the increase in the price of the currency. Which means more money for long-time holders. Many people would never invest in Bitcoin directly except they use third parties. So it is good news for them since they can now invest through ETF.

The disadvantages will be more centralisation which undermines the ideology of Bitcoin. There will also be more regulations and invasion of privacy. It could also lead to misinformation since people might think that these third parties are the only means of investing in Bitcoin. Some persons use Bitcoin to avoid tax but with this investment platform, avoiding tax might be difficult.
314  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: March 29, 2024, 09:19:25 PM
Most of these gunner's are noisy and lousy, they talk about the game too much but can they back it up finally? In the next couple weeks we will see to that.
They should focus on winning and not revenging, what has revenging got to do with this particular game? I feel pity for them because Bayern Munich will show no mercy on em.
Harry Kane will be ready for the club this weekend during the crunch game against Borrussia Dortmund. I don't want to see him back Injured so, hopefully he is not rushed back into the first team.

They have to be noisy and lousy because they don't get this type of happiness always as they haven't being playing regularly in champion league competition. If I was a gunner I'll be noisy too because that's the only way that I can be feeling some kind of excitement that I'm playing in the champion league but their dream will soon be cut short as Bayern Munich is going to defeat them. Arsenal might be playing very well but that's for the premier league. They'll be playing Manchester City for their next match and after that game they have two smaller teams to play before their match against Bayern Munich in the champions league, if they can use this three matches to build up confidence then they can stand a chance against Bayern Munich but if they can't win those games I don't think they'll play win against Bayern.
Arsenal have every right to be proud this time because they have achieved more than so many clubs in the EPL. They have qualified for the UCL quarter finals and are currently topping the English premier league, that enough to make any club noisy and boastful. Bayern Munich is not in top form like they used to be, so the Gunners might still have a slight chance to move to the semi-final. They have failed to dominate the Bundesliga and the coaching crew is unstable since they have been mandated to leave the club at the end of the season. Meanwhile, Arsenal has a united and strong side backed by a highly motivated coach. Bayern might be the favorite but Arsenal shouldn't be underrated.
315  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies take bitcoin as long term Choice to get the best out of bitcoin on: March 29, 2024, 09:04:24 PM
I have read alot of comments from newbies complaining how they investment into bitcoin is at a lose or does not give them they desired result of achieving the financial freedom that bitcoin offers based on they short term wrong bitcoin mentality.
Financial freedom can be interpreted differently but Bitcoin might not guarantee high profits that will sustain an individual for a lifetime especially if huge capital is not used to invest. Investing like 1000 dollars might not make someone rich in the next four years. People who have gained financial freedom from Bitcoin are those who bought the coin at a very cheap price and held it till date or those who invested heavily.

Quote
If you have the above mindset as a newbie investor then you should know that your are on a long ride of being disappointed, because no one know what the outcome will be for bitcoin in terms of bitcoin value in the next minute, that is the reason one needs to hold bitcoin with the knowledge of long term in view, to stabilise and build you and your investment up with time, before achieving the true financial freedom.
People are moved by predicted profits and most of them don't even consider the requirements and risk involved. This bull season has attracted many ignorant investors to the crypto industry and most of them will end up losing money because of lack of knowledge.

I also chose TRX because of its low transaction fees. During those days when Bitcoin transaction fees were high due to the ordinal inscriptions, I tried using TRX and from them, I became comfortable with it and stopped using Bitcoin. But the problem is that some new casinos don't have more deposit options which might make one limited to only major or popular cryptos. Stablecoin is also a good option because it is less volatile and you can even decide to keep it in your casino account for a long period ( I am not encouraging keeping large sums in casinos).
318  Economy / Economics / Re: Does a place called Africa really Exist in the world Economy on: March 27, 2024, 08:42:48 PM
Simple question, let's see:
How many people drown in the Mediterranean and in the straight and suffocate in trucks to get to England?
How many people move from England to Africa? Even by plane?

This again, the same narrative, Europe is bad, Europe has no chance, and the rest is way better, yet in reality, nobody sees that this way!
Why are no migrant problems caused by Europeans, why I don't see anyone saying we don't want you anymore while millions flock to Europe?

The reality is that everyone sees as only hope not a life between his own citizens but far away, a life on the principles he criticizes when talking to others but in real life he wishes for!
Many people I know who left for England were doing well financially in my country. To migrate legally to the UK you should be a middle or rich class in my country. Many of them might not make more money in Europe but they are moving because of better life. European cities are organised and have good health, security, educational and political systems that are far superior to what we experience in developing nations. So they prefer to work their ass out and get a better life than to be wealthy in a disorganized society.

So the difference is....

Every time Africa needs somebody to shift the blame on it's something that happened 100 years ago, there was no f Poland 100 years ago, there was no Finland and Japan and South Korea have been nearly leveled by wars, but no, it's because of evil westerners, not because the thing that look back at you in the mirror!
Who butchered 2 million in the Rwanda massacre, who was pulling the trigger, and who was beheading people? Who killed 1 million in the Angola civil war? Yeah, crickets!
The same Africans that have their own co-nationals blood on their hands scream about the west!

2200 will come and there will be the same blame, all the other colonies would have gone from 3rd world to normal civilized countries but the ones in Africa will still scream colonialism!
Those who still blame colonialism for the perils of Africa should have a rethink. No doubt Europe still contribute to the underdevelopment of Africa through loans, political interference and systematic corruption but it is Africa that holds the keys to its libration. Religious fanatism, tribalism and corruption are the main bane to Africa's development. The religious and tribal conflicts in Ethiopia, Sudan, Nigeria, etc are clear indications that we need to first love ourselves before clamouring for love from outsiders.
