Before anything, I'd like to welcome OP in the forum, hopefully you're not discouraged by the advises of our enthusiastic veteran forum users, there's a shortage for new people so we're all too eager to help you out, my suggestion for you, just take your time to explore the different boards of the forum, and follow the advice of sticking to your local language board too, that's going to help you a lot even more than just aimlessly exploring. I wouldn't really want OP to have this as their only reason to be in the forum, it's a really weird thing to say to a newbie but on one side I do agree that there's ways to make money here but it's a conflicting thing, it's probably in your best interest that you should be advising on other things, let OP discover this on their own, that way they're not overwhelmed by what they have to learn which is sometimes the thing that discourages most newbies into digging deeper because there's so much to learn all at once.

It doesn't necessarily mean that we are to learn everything here in the forum, just pick the important ones and as time progresses if you feel like expanding your knowledge, it your decision to make. But it's preferred that we try as much as we can to understand more so that, when the time of application comes, we'll be able to ditch out from our knowledge. The more you know, the more flexible you become in solving problems and helping others out. I have always love to study more complex parts of crypto network, like programming but, due to my tight schedule I have not been able to learn, but I believe once I change I
My routine, I'll go for more knowledge.

Having a project listed on exchange is not a guarantee that the project will be a potential one that will be reliable,  people need not to be deceived because a project is listed in exchange and they are fine with  it to invest a good amount of money in it. New projects needs to be handled with care and people should not just embrace new project so fast and expecting so much from it.

Even scam projects get listed in exchanges. Scammer are now doing their best to make sure the coin looks perfect and running as every other normal coins. But the intent of why the coin was created is for scam purpose. We must be careful especially now that Bitcoin halving is on its way, will find lots of new projects in the market most of which some are scam project while other are good project. Sometimes due to lack of management or development skill a project could end up a shitcoin, even when it real Intent was to make a good project.
304  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Let's be more careful with local exchanges. on: March 21, 2024, 05:48:22 AM
Since Binance removed peer-to-peer (p2p) trading, many Nigerians have switched to other exchanges that still support it. Binance has been the go-to exchange for us Nigerians for a long time. However, when exploring new p2p exchanges, some have different trading patterns and fewer traders, increasing the risk of scams.

What you said is absolutely correct but I'll still like to add that even in reputable exchanges we still have some person who claim to be p2p traders, and they come up with a very good rate that is too good to be true. Though dey might not scam you if you know what you're doing. Should in case you come across those kind of p2p traders the best thing is to avoid them, and you can recognize a scam p2p trader when you see his trade percentage. I recommend you trade with users from 88-100% if you mistakenly created an order with a p2p scam trader you should always be conscious of not touching the realize coin.

Then when we talk about local p2p traders, I prefer knowing the person first face to face before engaging in any business with that person, no matter how reputable they he is. Because crypto is unlike traditional fiat transactions that we can clearly see the name of the person we are sending our money to. Hence we should have known the local p2p traders before we engage in any business transaction with him/her. And aside that, we should crosscheck wallet address sent to us before we proceed with transaction, if you don't mind I prefer checking it character by character so I don't copy the address and miss out any character.
305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are memecoins really important for the crypto market? on: March 21, 2024, 05:00:46 AM
And this same reasons you pointed out i exactly why a lit of them end up as failures, they are just fun fare tokens created to do what full the space, don't get me wrong I'm not against them but I hate when things get abused which in the crypto space we see a lot of those, scammers easily use memeckims to steal funds cause they dint need any complex whitepaper and their audience are those looking for huge gains which are those that
 invest in meme coins .

The only reason why memecoin are gaining ground is cause many investors haven't gotten wisdom that bitcoin is better than all the shotcoins put together and its better to own bitcoin than invest or gamble around with memecoins.

Absolutely correct mate, the reasons we have more of scammers in memecoin is because we have more of Investors looking for a way to make huge profits within a short period of time. Most of these investors lack patience and have greed that why they end up in shitcoins. And newbies also make the mistake of entering into a project because of hypes from social Media and crypto influencers without them looking deep into the coin. There is no doubt that Bitcoin is the best coin in the network, it's reputable, and trustworthy. If you have patience enough, you'll benefit from Bitcoin investment.
306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it safe to use Telegram bot for trading ? on: March 20, 2024, 08:31:23 PM
Personally I just don’t trust telegram in general. There’s a lot of fishy content from telegram and most of the time, telegram is the place where scammers live off on. I also think telegram is very easy to access and hack so I’m quite concerned about the safety and security.

Indeed over the years, I have seen so many scammers coming from telegram though it's not for crypto related but I believe lots of scammer are using that service. I'm not saying there are not legit businesses conducted on telegram, but all I'm saying is, scammer find it very easy to use the service In running their mischiefs. So op you have to be careful with your decision in using a telegram bot for trading. all risk are on you, but majority of person will also suggest the same thing, so just quit your idea of using telegram that way.
307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are memecoins really important for the crypto market? on: March 20, 2024, 07:05:26 AM
Irrespective of the fact that we have more of shitcoins coming from memecoins, all coins category of coins have their lesson to teach. To my best of knowledge, for meme coins it teaches a discipline to make concrete research and get to the market early. It also teaches one to focus on the market  due to its high volatility.  Many investors venture into meme coins because of its high volatility but in as much as that could make you rich in a split seconds( sarcasm) it can also cause you losses in that same rapid dump.

310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Memecoin hype getting higher on: March 20, 2024, 04:58:44 AM
Meme coins being a very volatile coins, is know for the pumps in a short period of time. And those who benefit from memecoins are those who got in early when the price was still very low. Due to the fact that we have enough investor going for that brand of altcoins, we now currently have lots of shit project, the are meme coins. So finding the right coin to invest in, would be a very big puzzle to solve, but if you are lucky to get the right on time, them you smile when when the coin start experiencing bul, because it may have a x10 or even x100.
311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Selling BTC for Alt Coins? on: March 20, 2024, 04:51:53 AM
I have around 2.1k in btc rn and was wondering if I should sell it and invest in a couple of altcoin projects, would that be a good idea? I know Bitcoin will never ever do another 5x in the near future haha so that's kind of why I would wanna sell. The market cap of btc would have to reach a very high amount for it to be life-changing money to me.

Bitcoin price correction was going to happen and it has already started. Don't sell your Bitcoin and buy altcoins because Bitcoin will cause a big correction in price of altcoins. ImA correction of 30% or more can happen and if you sell your Bitcoin and buy altcoins you will be in loss. Continue to hold Bitcon and after halving it will again pump.

Those who are traders would be the ones to need this information seriously. After the halving, there is a high tendency that Bitcoin will have a bull run, based on History. So since the price correction has already started taking place, we hope that the bull run which was predicted to take place around 2025 will now start from 2024 due to the change in the time of the price correction, except we are not yet in the price correction and the price of Bitcoin may rise once more.
312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is investment a necessity or a want? on: March 20, 2024, 04:43:09 AM
Investment is a thing of choice so it's not a want. Prioritizing your invest over your health is a very dumb decision to make. If paraventure you use the money for your health to make investment and you die, those who don't have clue of where you saved your seed phrase would let go, meaning the coins you spent you life protecting would loss and you also lost your life. Above everything we do, prioritizing our health first is the most important thing, because only the living can enjoy there investment, or you can even get the opportunity to invest in later future.
313  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't Fall Victim on: March 20, 2024, 04:35:24 AM

Those people are taking too much risk, although sometimes they make it quick before people that invested in bitcoin if they are wise enough to take profit once the coin get small recognition before it fell down again.

Some of these investors are not too vigilant about their privacy provided they will earn some $ if they if the coin do well, as such, they will do the KYC irrespective of the conditions involve Just for money.

Correct, in as much as these coin are very volatile, they can give it holders a very rapid profit and can even take it all before the holder could realize that it was a shitcoin. Trading this coin requires a skill to know when to buy and sell. So if you want to become successful in trading altcoin, you'll need to stay vigilant and be able to read price charts to know what might likely happen next. But if it were to be Bitcoin investment, holding for long term doesn't necessarily mean you'll be learning all those reading of price charts and all of that, but having it as a added knowledge is a good one.
314  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't Fall Victim on: March 19, 2024, 10:58:55 PM
People who I fear for the most, are those who value new project so much, even before they get listed in an exchange. The fact that meme coins and shitcoin can seem to ba a potential coin and pass through all the KYC requirements is not a new update. We must be careful with the coins we choose for investment because there are scammers around the crypto network now. That is why after the bear run you'll observe that some coin will not get back up. That's because most of them are scam projects.

316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can you and I benefit? on: March 19, 2024, 05:59:33 AM
Hello. Here in Gaza, owners of cryptocurrencies cannot withdraw their balances due to the closure of all exchange shops. They are forced to sell their cryptocurrencies at a lower price than their value to get money.
Someone offered me to transfer 1000 USDT to my wallet in exchange for handing him $900 in cash.
That means 1usdt=90 cents
Can we benefit from that?
Exchange shops you mean? What happened to the Internet? You can use the Internet to sell coins (any amount you want to sell).
Well there is no harm in that, if someone gives you a thousand dollars worth of crypto and you have to pay a hundred that means you gained some cent from the transaction. However there is no crime in that, if you have the $900 to give to the person just go along because you are gaining, besides it's a crypto currency not fiat, you can't tell if the coins will high.
In this situation I see that the person is really in need of the money that's why he's looking for means to exchange his crypto for fiat, as a smart person you have to buy from them and save the coins. Just buy the coins and save them on electrum Bitcoin wallet, if you want to sell then you have to use a good exchange.

Good question, what happened to online exchange, that will give you your desire at your own comfort. Since the physical exchange shop are not operating for now, you could use the online exchange and exchange to fiat while you can still sell at that amount to make extra $100 of your exchange with a seller. And if they have more persons willing to buy at that rate them that could be a good opportunity to make extra cash. However all this can happen when your country does not kick against exchanges.
317  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Government demanding from Binance the lists of its Nigerian users on: March 19, 2024, 05:14:13 AM
Court orders Binance to release data of Nigerian users to EFCC

A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered Binance Holdings Limited to provide the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission with comprehensive information on all persons from Nigeria trading on its platform.

The court handed down the order in an ex-parte motion filed by the EFCC demanding information about Nigerians trading on Binance.

Copied from https://punchng.com/court-orders-binance-to-release-data-of-nigerian-users-to-efcc/

This one wey EFCC don enter the matter e mean say, Dem wan really arrest those users, e don dey really clear now say na their intentions be that. But my problem with this issue na besay, them don already succeed disable their fiat from binance so wattin Dem wan still use the name of those p2p traders do. Abi them dey plan to task them? Or place fine for their head? But one thing dey sure, as far as say them dey this desperate to collect those name e just mean say them wan either arrest them like the BDC and then, fine Dem.
318  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Just imagine this thing. on: March 19, 2024, 05:04:59 AM

This made crypto savings different from bank saving.. Immediately you lost your seed phrase, then you lost all the savings in the wallet. That is why you should always try to save it in a mail you know off hand. This protect your savings as you can't easily forget it unless such person has an issue relating to loss of memory.

Bro in as much as say if your seed phrase and you no get access to you device e don go, and you no go fit recover your money back, e no dey advisable to save our seed phrase for mail. If you read how to secure your seed phrase, you go see say, that method of storage na very dangerous one , and if hacker paraventure enter your mail, e mean say, all your money don go. Because them no go leave even small unit for you Grin. If you wan save very large amount of asset, it is recommended that you buy a hardware wallet, but if you just like to save small asset for the main time, then use a non-custodial wallet, either mobile or desktop version.
