Update

Well as you can see we tried to run purchases this morning but the additional load plus more and more miners coming online has maxed out the write speed of our current hardware.  The good news is that new servers are being adding to the cluster as I type but takes time to get online.  In the meantime offline mining causes no issues to the system so we are going to suspend purchases until these new servers are online.

For those that have a purchase in the system, we can either refund your purchase or just let it sit in the system and ready to go when we turn back on purchases.  Please email support@gpumax.com if you wish to receive a refund.

Thanks,

Step 1: Get a box with 1TB RAM
Step 2: Setup tmpfs to hold everything
Step 3: Profit! (and hope the box doesn't crash taking everything with it) Grin

It's not the ram that you need it's the write speeds of the drives.  The new servers have gone all SSD!

EDIT: Now it seems like there just isn't any leased work available Cry all work is being pointed to my 'offline' pool. Perhaps it would be a good idea to slow new miner invites until the miner:leaser ratio is a bit more balanced?

I've noticed that avaliable lease work has been light for the past week or so.  I'm wondering if the fixed lease price for purchasers may need to be adjusted down a bit to accomidate the current difficulty?

Sigg

We are working on getting our additional servers online and purchases are running in-between reboots and updates.  The price is not fixed by us but set by the average price miners set for their PPS.  So if enough miners drop their price the purchase price will move with it.

I'm out of the office so I am not in to approve them.

BTW, a lot of people speak well about you! Nice work man!!  Cheesy

Best,
Thiago

Well thank you, though the ones that don't like me are at the bottom of the ocean.  So you don't hear much from them.  Tongue

You are like an angel to most people who come here because chances are before they came here they were doing business with a Goat and had to deal with his ego - you shine in comparison! Smiley

Well I can't speak for Goat but running something that's popular will test the patience of any man.  I do appreciate the comments though and always try to keep a level head.  Though there are times when it's hard to do on such a (sometimes) ruthless forum.

Is there a way to clear worker/pool stats?  Maybe even just in the current browsing session so one still has long term stats...

Are payouts supposed to be shown in the transactions, or is that only for purchases?

You can't reset the stats at this time but you will as some point.  Payments don't show up yet on the site but again, they will.

Hi!

I have 15GHash and I would like to join GPUMax mining pool... Can I?!
 Thank you!

Best,
Thiago
p2pool is not satisfying for you?  Tongue

Yes, it is!! But, I'm in a huge debt with this community and, I can not handle variance under debt... P2Pool is too small these days... I honestly prefer a pool with at least 500GHash (like eclipsemc) or even bitparking (2.5% fee)...

P2Pool is the future, I'm with it! No doubt...

Anyway, I would like to try GPUMax to taste this new approach...  Can I pirateat40!?  Tongue

Thanks!
Thiago

If you're on the list you'll get to try it all you want when you get the invite. Smiley

I'm sure this has been answered on here before, but its a long thread, i got tired of reading, and I'm lazy  Grin

When doing public work, I notice one gpu, or sometimes the entire rig will be idle for awhile.  Is this normal?  I have each rig as worker, should I make a worker for each gpu instead, or will I still have the idle time occasionally?

Yes, this can also happen if a bad purchase hits the pool (pointed to a dead pool, it goes offline or switched to a pool that can't handle the connections).  Our fail-over system is just about done that will address this issue and hopefully a bad purchase wont effect miners.

I have made all my deposits between 4th jan - 18 jan and haven't touched it since and don't intend to (plus all interest is reinvested).

If I commit to a long term deal (so promising not to touch the funds for a year or something) would that entitle me to the high rate?

Sorry that's not the way it works. Sad
314  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: First Pirate Savings and Trust on: March 08, 2012, 06:30:51 PM
Actually I do have a question, but of course you're free to refuse to answer Smiley

Are the rates altered because:

1) Your margins are declining because the underlying business case is declining
2) You want bigger margins for yourself
3) Both 1) and 2)

Smaller accounts are linked to more movement (deposits/withdraws) which equals more time for me.  I would rather a few large lenders that are stable than lots of small accounts that jump in and out.
315  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: First Pirate Savings and Trust on: March 08, 2012, 12:43:33 AM
As most everyone knows I back everything I do with my own wallet if something were to happen.  I run multiple wallets as well and numerous backup and encryption systems to insure everything is secure,  cause it's not just your coins, but my money on the line if something were to happen.

Are you accepting deposits now? And if so, with the new terms or the old until the 1st of April?

As always, you can deposit at anytime.  The new payment terms and rates don't go into effect until the 1st.
316  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: First Pirate Savings and Trust on: March 08, 2012, 12:39:42 AM
Pirate,

You say your demand is low, thus not zero. Does that mean you're accepting or are open for business? Can current accounts members make deposits now either on the old or new program terms?

The demand rating is merely a way for members to know the risk of depositing and getting them right back.

What will happen if your system gets compromised and funds will be solen?

Could some one give me a referral?

Please don't ask for referrals in the thread.  Thanks,

Are those rate changes global for everyone? New and old accounts alike? I assume they are.

Yes, its a global change in rates including previous accounts.
