301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: December 17, 2016, 08:41:57 PM

At the rate things are going, the government as it currently stands seems to be loosing credibility. When brazen crimes are being committed at the top and all they can do is bully people via the media that they are stupid for believing it, that is a sign of loosing.

The US cannot kill bitcoin. All they do is remove themselves from the circle of innovation like the UK did with the auto industry at the turn of the century.

I'm greatly disappointed by Dashs lack of Scam Factor. I've been waiting 2.5 years to loose money, but it just won't happen Sad.

...... a lot of people who would otherwise have been interested in Monero.......

This is true for me as well. Just as much as I look at charts, coin features and white papers, I find it just as important what the the community behind a crypto currency locks like. I have put off several coins and ICOs that I invested in, simply because of the community being trollish or bad influences in general. It is apparent that a few bad apples can really bring down the overall image of a project, and this is especially true for the Monero project.

This also applies to me.

How is instamine even a big deal when most new coins are 100% premined. Look at Ethereum! A huge amount of pre mining and nobody cares. The hacking however...

anybody ever see this error message on their masternodes

res_query.c:262: __libc_res_nquery: Assertion `(hp != ((void *)0)) && (hp2 != ((void *)0))' failed.

Tried updating node and still no success.

It's a dns lookup failure.

Upgrading Ubuntu fixed it! Thanks!

Evan and the group are focusing on the core, which is good because the DAO was prime example of what happens when you DONT.

It's also a prime example of why obscured blockchains are toast because the rot would still be in there festering and atrophying the integrity of the asset courtesy of a total absence of transparency.

You have no way to audit nefarious activity on your coin. Think what Evan could have done with a 150m crowdfunding sale, amazing what we have done on a much smaller budget.

I can't help but wonder if Dash is going down in price today because we are a Distributed Autonomous Organization also, but with a completely different and secure structure?  Do we get associated with hastily slapped together and badly structured projects now simply because we were the first DAO, and done correctly?  BTW, we've had our DAO running almost a year now without incident.

I wouldn't be surprised to find our beloved trolls spreading FUD about us as if we were anything like "The DAO" but I don't have the time to look where they spam.

Nobody talks about Dash on polo troll. It's all DAO DOA/ETH FUD/LISK DUD

Sorry, I'm in a mood where I'm incensed again, that Dash sits around like a wall flower when it's the best thing since the EMdrive, LOL.  I love my Dash so much, I can't believe everyone isn't crazy about Dash and trying to buy 'em up Tongue  (I'm a bit myopic about it, and sometimes it hits me in my gut and I have to whine).

Now I wonder how LISK will survive the ETH fiasco? I didn't know they were joined at the hip.

Isn't the DAO on a different setup than ETH? Nobody mines DAO so how exactly can there be a consensus?

It's absolutely amazing how Ethereum with a market cap of over 1B and with as much backing and support it has, this happens..

I don't see how Ethereum is going to recover.

yes, its quite terrible that this thing happen during pump.   but ethereum is very young, more so those DAO  experiment and this have to happen before they mature and prove themself.

Word on the street is LISK co-operates with Ethereum? I see LISK being a user friendly version of what ETH is.

Great review of the Baikal Dash Miner on Bitcoinist!

Review of the Baikal 150 mh/s X11 DASH ASIC Miner

Asic miner to X11
Will DASH be dumpped like Litecoin ?

BTC, LTC, ETH rally... but DASH remain at the same level.(7~8$)
Is this X11 asic miner effect ?

There is nothing wrong with ASICs, it's the reckless quantities of miners that is murdering the profitability for everyone. I just hope they are not mining and dumping it.

Wau, DASH difficulty and hash rate, like doubled!

Hmmm, struggling to understand why that would happen in light of bitcoin's recent rise and alt's (dash's) downturn???

Baikai ASIC miners flooding the market.

Regarding the Russian Bitcoin Ban

http://www.coindesk.com/russias-bitcoin-ban-draft-bill-withdrawn/

It sounds like the bill has been withdrawn, for lack of appropriate justification for the bill lawl.

Hopefully it stays that way.

I'm just kicking myself for buying LISK at .001. I didn't buy a whole lot, but still annoyed lol.
Not sure it was wrong, the volume was over Eth during the first day.
It took time for Eth to go really high so...Patience.

Well, I bough some during ICO (was 18K sat) and some during the inicial dump at 50K.

All profit of this just to buy at least one or 2 MN Smiley
I don't know when to sold but I'll wait at least two weeks to see what happen with this.

What is Tok opinion?

Remembering what ETH did, I jumped on this seeing what could potentially happen. To exceed ETH like it did in a day something big has to be driving that. 39000BTC volume is a freakishly high amount of volume.

Anybody notice all the commotion on dash forums? Seems like we got quite a few upset individuals about the DGBB system. Trying to get a better idea of what's going on if anybody has any insights.
