301  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Buying Cryptocurrency from Trade Websites without photo ID on: December 30, 2014, 11:43:52 PM
Hey all,

Now are there any legitimate websites I can use to buy Cryptocurrencies online(not only bitcoin) without needing to verify with photo identification etc? I have nothing to hide but at the same time I do not trust sending a photo of my drivers license, plus a photo of my self with a document infront of me to any source online. They say its to protect against fraud and identify theft but in the wrong hands, someone who has these photos and information can pull off some huge scams. I want to visit a website, drop in some dollars from my account and do some trading.

I really like the look of Crypsty but again do not and will not trust sending such sensitive information online. These if you lose your wallet and someone finds it, all they need is a bill from your mailbox and they can perform huge amounts of fraud under your name. Why should I trust sending it to some online source? How can I trust my information is secure? Sure maybe the website is safe but any protections can be broken and cryptocurrency is a high target for hackers.

I am from Australia and would like to do some small purchases of currencies online.

Well, I don't think you need to reveal your identity to buy other cryptocurrency other than bitcoin.
However, to buy bitcoin instead of using an exchange site, you can use sites like localbitcoins, or trade them for something on the forum.
This way you won't have to reveal your identity.
302  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where to invest bitcoins on: December 30, 2014, 11:41:36 PM
Don't invest in dice site ! Just hold your coins and wait for the price to rocket
Well, that might not be the best way to invest them. Youy can always look at real world options for investing on companies whose identities are known.
The risk as always while investing in an online gambling site is that , once they have the private keys, you do not own them.
303  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BetPitBull.Com - Scam site on: December 30, 2014, 11:39:24 PM
There are a lot of similar sites which come each month. Even Dreamland casino did a few months back.
They don;t last for long as the sites look fishy in terms of play and the owner. They just offer lots of promotions for it.

You can clearly see this is the same "group". Come on now! They even link to  image https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.goldbarcasino.net%2Fcooltext1852501886.png&t=547&c=_a5omrHscYxz7A - Why would they host their betpitbull logo on a scam site?

I provided enough proof... now it's up to others to stay away and give negative feedback because he will continue to lock thread (mod unlocks, he locks, no ban, nothing?) and delete others posts.

Not gonna waste anymore time on this. I will however point out the scam again when it comes up under a new site name and account Wink

I think that you know : in this forum the spammers will never be banned.  The only way to stop ( or better avoid them) it is : don't trade with them and give them a negative trust ( as you & me did ).

The sad part is that they come back with a different identity and still find people to scam .
Its best to have everyone warned.
304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: when altcoin will be all dead? on: December 30, 2014, 11:08:58 PM
seems that in 2014 there are many altcoin was created , but also. dead so many

most of them are scam , nowadays new algo can not make a coin succeed anymore

like X11 X12 X13 X14......ect
really want to know when will the altcoin all dead

or something new in 2015?
Altcoins would be along all the time with bitcoins. A lot of people consider as possible improvements that can be made in the bitcoin protocol,
and some of the changes actually might be made.
305  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which is your strategy on dice sites? on: December 30, 2014, 10:46:26 PM
I haven't read any strategies but Martingale on this whole thread.  People are saying they are changing the betting value but that isn't strategy, that is just changing your value of what you can win.

Apparently, most of the betting strategies are variations of martingale. Even if you increase your bet, then that is martingale.
306  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Power companies should mine bitcoins on: December 30, 2014, 10:36:56 PM
A lot of grid is wasted during off peak times. Energy is stored or sold in inefficient manners. Instead, they should use any excess energy in mining bitcoins to sell. Rather than raising electric rates, they can increase their customer base. Their price discovery will be the electricity/btc pair. They can choose which will be most profitable. Storage can then be bought by customers for their needs based on rates. This just seems more efficient than being forced to sell to only one market.

Well in a lot of countries like Sweden Smart grids are coming up. So during off peak hours, most of the energy is now stored and not wasted .
So it would actually be hard to use that to mine bitcoins .However in some developing countries, the waste still happens , and those might be perfect places to do this.
Not sure how welcoming some of the companies would be to the idea, and would be willing to spend money into the mining gear for this.
307  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud Mining Question on: December 30, 2014, 09:03:18 PM
Even after the price being low, I see some sites say that it will be profitable and a positive ROI will be earned in 5-6 months.
Is that true?

Most cloudmining sites(if legit) can guarantee profits in the next one year . But it would be uncertain after that, as the difficulty might change.
Even when the halving occurs in 2016 , it might be a whole different scenario, and we might have different miners by then.
308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: THE PUMP! Earn together! on: December 30, 2014, 09:01:12 PM
MOB is in danger of being delisted 3 days before this pump is supposed to happen??!! lol wtf?

Well, despite this probably being a scam. Most coins that are pumped, are low in volume. It allows for easier pumps. Imagine pumping bitcoin(with not so much money). Would be hard to, probably because people will keep selling and you will run out of the amount.
The pump doesn't face much resistance in case of these coins about to delist.

For the doubters! The strategy is simple! before January 1, we purchase the maximum number of coins! Please be advised daily volume of up to> 0.2 BTC and keep it! 5 of the pump. I can only say one volume of the pump> 15 BTC.

If you purchase maximum, number of coins before Jan 1st, wouldn't there be a major risk of you guys dumping the coins when the pump happens ?
Which would only leave you guys to take advantage of the pump?

that is literally the entire point of a pump.  I can't believe you are confused about that.

Did you mean that in a sarcastic way, by saying that scamming like this is a point?
Or am I misunderstanding something? I used to follow a pump, where the coin was decided the last second, and pump happened in a provably fair way, like someone else posted in the thread.
309  Other / Off-topic / Re: The craziest shit you can buy with bitcoins right now? on: December 30, 2014, 08:59:11 PM
Investing in casinos, and maybe getting something built by the Wood COllectore on the forum would be the coolest things I can do with bitcoin right now.
310  Economy / Gambling / Re: Is it safe to invest in Win88 on: December 30, 2014, 08:56:40 PM
I invested ฿1 in them simultaneously with along with 7 other dice sites and I am recording the performance and stats here

http://bitcoin-betting-guide.com/gambling-investments/gambling-investments-comparison-table/

Win88 have been great, so far they are the second most profitable site Smiley and personaly I trust them.

Thanks for that thread. It gives a good reference to invest in sites. Also can you update the ? for win88. Its unclear right now.
It doesn't show if any amount is invested in the win88 site and shows a ? instead.
311  Economy / Gambling / Re: NitrogenSports.eu - SPORTSBOOK - POKER - BEST SUPPORT on: December 30, 2014, 08:54:23 PM
Cheaper Fees for the Hourly Tournaments at Nitrogen!

Good News: Our hourly poker tournaments now have lower fees! We knocked off .3mBTC from the fees, so now you can buy in for just 5+.2mBTC!

Great News: We didn't change the prize pool! 20mBTC prize pool still up for grabs each and every hour at Nitrogen Poker!

Only at:

Even I am a regular player on the tournys. Didn't like the change for the hourly .I had submitted a support ticket last night as well.
Would be nice to have the old payout structure back. I have actually seen a lot of people complain about in chat too.

313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why it all went wrong in 2014 - but why 2015 can be better. on: December 30, 2014, 08:45:06 PM
I think another reason where altcoins brought a drop in bitcoin was due to Ethereum. I think a massive amount of ICO funds were dumped after the presale, which was actually the reason for the drop from 600 to 500. It might actually have been somewhat a trigger.
314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Buying dogecoins on: December 30, 2014, 08:43:24 PM
Hello, I would like to buy some dogecoins. If you are willing to sell some, please let me know via PM.

Just use an exchange rather than requesting it here, as people will charge you a mark up.
With an exchange, you just have to create an account and do the trade.

316  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The new wealthy elite world order on: December 30, 2014, 08:40:32 PM
By putting up buy walls for those who are cutting losses and exiting (helping them),even if bitcoin price goes 1$ we are the new wealthy elite.

What does it mean to become a new wealthy elite? Sooner or later this will happen beacause bitcoin has revolutionary real world purposes.
What kind of world we would be living? How new wealthy elite rules the world? What kind of world order and laws? And purposes?  Smiley

Well, even despite having a real world purpose, the price hasn't been going up all the time .
Another thing that determines the price is the adoption and the use by people.
317  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New DDOS services by the Lizard Squad what can we learn from Bitcoin? on: December 30, 2014, 08:39:23 PM
http://thecryptonewsnetwork.com/lizard-squad-under-investigation-by-the-f-b-i-decentralized-network-usability-on-the-increase-because-of-new-security-issues/

Today the Lizard Squad, famously known for the Sony network DDOS attacks and Xbox Live DDOS attacks have launched a DDOS service that allows regular users to take down high intensity networks. They boast for a low cost the ability to take down any type of network with a denial of service attack. The Lizard Squad is currently under investigation by the F.B.I. for DDOS attacks. http://venturebeat.com/2014/12/30/fbi-confirms-lizard-squad-under-investigation-for-psn-xbox-live-attacks/

The only payment method currently is for Bitcoin throwing more shade on crypto currency for it’s “darknet” uses. Even more interesting is that soon they will have the ability to use paypal through the site. The nature of DDOS attacks is highly illegal and is a criminal activity.

The scariest part of this is that it is a streamlined process that attempts to give the general public an opportunity to create a large scale denial of service attacks and with minimal effort and monetary input.

The irony of the entire situation is that Bitcoin a decentralized payment system cannot be taken down by these DDOS attacks. The question must be asked: As these services escalate shouldn’t decentralized networks become more commonplace within society?

The more important question is can industries learn from Bitcoins decentralized nature to avoid these attacks?

If they are being under investigation by the FBI , then why are they offering the service to DDOS sites?
Wouldn't it be bad for them?
318  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud Mining Question on: December 30, 2014, 08:22:45 AM
Cloudmining used to be very profitable when the btc price was 600$ or more.

Now Btc price ~300-320$, Cloudmining services having hard time... Probably most of the site owners even cant profit anymore.

cex.io profits because they have a huge maintenance costs. Cloud mining services that are small and smart can still profit because they keep the costs very low.

I think like rano said, being small is more hard to survive, unless they have big amounts of gears.
It would probably become expensive for them.

320  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud Mining Question on: December 29, 2014, 12:17:50 AM
Hi,

I would like some advice on cloud mining.

After initial capital I cannot understand the business model of a cloud mining company, surely if you make your ROI in 3 months or something they start to lose money after this period.

why would any company open that knows its going to lose money in the long term? Unless they have an ulterior motive?

I am tempted to try out some cloud mining sites that have been around for a while as It seems easier than me buying some of my own miners but I am putting the trust in someone elses hands.

Has anyone invested a lot in cloud mining and come out on top? Any examples or anyone here who has?

Thanks for any advice

Some cloudmining sites don't give you lifelong earnings . Its only for a fixed amount of years.
