The worst part is generating the plots, which is constant writing up to the specified plot size. Once the plots are generated, usage is minimal. If I remember correctly, 256KB will be read per plotted GB for each block, trying to find the right value to unlock a block. My main rig has 20TB plotted in it, each block change brings about a new 5000MB disk read.

Say they open up the flood gates and allow for insurance providers to sell across state lines, but Obamacare is repealed or fundamentally changed as the GOP would like. Insurance providers would begin to migrate to states with very little regulation on coverage, pay-outs, and the like. Now you as a healthy person would snatch up this now much cheaper plan because you have very little to worry about, but the sick person wouldn't have that option because these now un-regulated insurers would refuse to cover them or propose they pay in excess of $30,000 a year for coverage. This leaves sick people scrounging the bottom of the barrel for health insurance that would more than likely be lacking.

I dated a girl from Nigeria for a few years and her and her sister talked about One timers. Supposedly people being kidnapped and sold to Voodoo practitioners. Is this real? If so what do you know about it?

I think, bankers are still the real enemies of bitcoin. I dont think they are. They are smart and see many great wealth implementing possibilities in the Bitcoin. But time in banking industry turns much slower then in Crypto. Bankers just cant switch that time to run faster. The only enemy of Bitcoin is fear of unknown. Fear of changes. Everyone of us have this fear in them. Some bigger other smaller. It takes time for everyone to overcome it. 100 years ago many would be scared to drive in a car. 30 years ago many would be scared use computer. Same! i think it's about how if all banks were actually like this then there would be a lot less motivation behind blockchain in use for currency, but they aren't, so there is.

I've experienced a very nice passive profit thanks to the bullrun the dollar is experiencing (I've stayed mostly in fiat since the China bans), I began trading in usd for liquidity and I stayed because it's appreciation against the EUR was an unexpected nice side effect.

I think that even with wealth inequality, poor people now are still better off than poor people 100 years ago. the issue that I have is that wealth inequality shifts us away from a meritocracy. If you are born rich you have access to better schools, more money to invest, and a culture that encourages growth. Being born poor means lower-grade schools and less of a chance to really push forward. This, I believe (I could be wrong), leads to an inefficiency. Instead of say 100 people in the position to realize great ideas we would now only have 10. This leads to stagnancy.

CHASH was released less than 24 hours before the Thanksgiving holiday today. Many people are with their families. We all look forward to the Boom update tomorrow, and announcements from the team when they get back in office.
What will be the update?

People seem to be wanting at least an anonymous messaging service (or at least *ahem* secret ) If you could advertise this app as a messaging service (rivaling Skype, WhatsApp, Snapchat, etc.) from the anonymous/encrypted angle. This app could skyrocket to popularity since people are worried all about their privacy now (Facebook Messenger, NSA, etc.) Especially if you could integrate the way the app "Secret" worked this app has a real bright future for the fans of the App.

I guess air roads will be considered important and widely celebrated, until they need more gravel for a new parking somewhere in the vicinity.

Do you believe the confession is false?
When the cops are allowed and even encouraged to lie to people to obtain "confessions" and statements, the answer is a resounding YES!

That's why I always have some sort of screen lock on. Not saying that makes it any more okay that the CHP did that

You are protecting other people by buying health insurance. Hospitals are required to provide emergency care regardless of insurance status. You're protecting others from footing your medical costs. Even if you don't have medical coverage outright, you're still de-facto covered under some circumstances. The mandate fixes this loophole.

The media knows that comparing Obama to Nixon is a sign of distaste and loathing of which the only equal is comparing Obama to Hoover (another Republican blamed by Democrats for everything under the sun). Yet Obama said, essentially, what Nixon said: “If the president does it, that means it’s not illegal.” Where’s the media hatred towards the authoritarian, ignorant Obama who sounds no better than Nixon and performs no better than Hoover. Bias is the answer; projected bias.
