Fiat or virtual currency devaluates values and that is normal for a currency.
Bitcoin does not devaluate and in fact it has climb up almost triple from the last time it was claimed as dead. Virtual currency like bitcoin is created for a reason and it is different than normal currency which will always lose value in time so putting investment in digital currency like bitcoin is always a wise decision |

I think you got the maths a little bit wrong there. Bitcoin is definitely not going to reach $4000 after halving. It hasn't even reached $1000 yet. Your hopes are too high.
I'm thinking the same thing, this is never gonna happen in my eyes its way too high, I even consider this as unrealistic to be honest. Its just way too much for the bitcoin, the max of the halving is at 2k in my eyes. 2k is a sick amount if you ask me then it will be another all time high if it actually reach 2k. Currently the top price for bitcoin is around $1200 so thats an extra $800 and with alot more supply so higher capitalization. It wont be that huge though, we are almost at peak now and it wont even get to $1000 |

The price is manipulate all the time. Even the current price seems the work of some whales. And while we most of the time dislike it. Most of us will be happy now.
Fun thing is that the mood will change, when the dumping (yes after a pump, a dump happens) starts.
Depending on your point of view then everything is manipulated however the current price rise is definitely not manipulated but it is because of the hype. I know there are many big players who manipulate bitcoin price and make huge profits but can we the bitcointalk members also form a cartel and let bitcoin price never fall?is it possible that we manipulate price as I am sure most of bitcoin users visit this forum
back in 2012-13 it was quite fun playing the markets and there were a couple good groups doing it. but to be honest, it would take alot of trust now. alot of the big holders would not dare throw all their stash into an exchange. we only put a couple percent at most in just for fun. but if u found a way to convince 1 million people to each just put a buy order in at 430, even if it was $10 each that would be a 22,000 btc wall. i dont see it happening now. the trust not only of groups, but also of the exchanges itself has eroded. and its better for the whole economy to have natural real trades instead of order manipulations We should try and do a community bullwhale wall. That could actually be a wicked cool social experiment. You got some free time to try and arrange it? The problem of doing such things is that it is hard to manage large amount of group and therefore people always choose to go with smaller group besides that there will always be a traitor that tries to sell when everyone is plan on buying. After halving can also mean some time around next year!!  So $2000 is not something that is unlikely.Sure for this year to reach such a value per coin is a very optimistic aim, but in 2017 however I could see it happen with some major crisis happening in the traditional markets which would cause an influx of new fresh money. It wont happen in 2017 for sure but it will happen in the next 4 years halving. You know what currently bitcoin is just full of hype somehow so the price is quite mad right now because of the halving , this is a bubble and could explode anytime so holding like crazy wont do this time |

if you have a lot of bitcoins or a lt of fiat then you surely can manipulate the price as you can sell or buy a lot and push or dump the price
Thats just stupid, thats means you are sacrificing your bitcoin to do that while there are other chance to manipulate it. For example creating buy pressure by making thousand of bitcoin buy order incase you have the money or create thousand of huge sell order to scare the small fish |

It's absolutely real, you can see the affect on bitcoin's price now. The price is increase really high, i think it's because the halving is already close and it will keep increasing.
It is never real however people keep thinking that its real and resulting that keep on buying it however either if it is real or not it doesnt matter as long as you are enjoying this price ride. There is nothing better than a weekend full of ups and downs, it helps alot in trading though especially when you cant trade occasionaly |

I was wondering if it was a good idea to buy Bitcoins now considering that there are only 42 days left until Bitcoin block reward is halving. what do you guys think?  The halving has no direct effect on the price of a bitcoin. However, because so many people believe that the halving affects the price, a speculative bubble is likely. Is this the start of the bubble, or the top? There is no way to know, but I'm guessing that it is still early. I would buy now or buy later after the bubble pops. Take a look at what happened at the Litecoin halving last August for an example of might happen next month. Thats belief is actually something great that could drive the price so mad. I wouldnt mind if people keep believing this kind of crap. Buying btc right now is kinda gambling, when bubbles pop everyone suffer however if you dont buy it now you are missing alot of profit. ... I would have to do a lot of onerous calculations to get the exact number, but at $500 I am sure than I am finally in the green, ahead on my BTC investment. The range would be $480 - $500, I do know that. I started buying after the peak when BTC was in the $700s, and bought fairly steadily all the way down. Since I am on a visit to Peru now, I cannot (easily) spend them, so maybe when I am back in the USA I can buy a tiny amount of gold. Or maybe not! With "The Halving" coming up, maybe I should just sit back and watch the show... Enjoy the show, this is going to keep on rising on you should enjoy it. I personally like to see Atletico Madrid will this title even Real Madrid has more stars players and at the moment it looking it favorite side for this event but i will do support Atletico Madrid because it is most important match for both teams and none can afford to lose this match.
