Whether or not the fork happens is hard to tell, but it may harm bitcoin's brand, according to Jani Valjavec, co-founder of ICONOMI, a digital asset management platform for cryptocurrencies. Valjavec argues the brand is the main thing behind bitcoin's value.

The developers kept 13,000,000 for themselves spread amongst them. They can't be used until a certain date though, which effectively makes the total supply 87,000,000. When they are unlocked the market cap will either drop to accomadate 13,000,000 new coins, or it will rise up and price stays the same.

I take a different stance than some in the ICN community in that I WANT ICN listen on big exchanges not because of pumps, but because the increased liquidity would help minimize the impact of a single player affecting the price. A few days ago Mal sold some of his ICN to buy a car and crashed the price like 20%. The price recovered but it took all night.
