tell me when youre ready. I dont know why the pool needs to be specially handled before being mined. What is wrong? Maybe someone here can help you get a setting correct so it doesnt keep giving you problems

I was able to register on Silverwolf's pool a while ago and have been mining there ever since with the expected payout for my hashrate. Nice job with the pool!

Yeah Silverwolf rules. He knows how to make pools. I just hope at some point Long polling is added.

310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][WDC][DGC][FTC] Online wallet! on: June 10, 2013, 06:53:49 PM
Hi folks!

I've spent last week developing an online walled for you, and now I've got something to show off.
It's still in beta now, but main features like sending and receiving coins have been tested and secured.

More details on this:
- url: https://wallet.epools.org
- features:
- send coins
- receive coins
- no fees except network send fees
- realtime updates *

* realtime updates mean you don't ever have to refresh page in your browser to see something happening like transactions going in and out of your wallet. everything happens in realtime, server is pushing updates to your browser as soon as it has something to show.

Awesome! Thank you, just registered

Gotcha. About to try the pool out now and see how it works.

Why not just buy the coins on btc-e? Or are you looking for people stuck with coins that dont want to deal with exchanges?

Is there a reason why the RealCoin address says HYC (Hyper Coin) on the sidebar stats and on the page headers?

Please sign this petition which is asking apple to allow bitcoin apps on their products:

http://www.change.org/petitions/apple-allow-bitcoin-wallets-on-the-iphone

Ummm Blockchain.info wallet app runs just fine on my iPod touch (just like an iphone) and I use it more than my computer when it comes to making payments, investments, sending money to others, funding gambling/casino sites, etc

Whats the problem? Do you really want the crappy BTC client wallet on your phone? I wouldnt want it
315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][BQC][POOL][DYNAMIC PPLNS][STRATUM] Silverwolf's BBQ Pool [UPGRADED !] on: June 10, 2013, 06:27:35 PM
Also if the share difficulty just increased its probably time for me to stop mining. Im barely mining anything with my old computers as it is. But I will be back when my new box is finished being built

I only increased it slightly, 31 is still very low.  Give it a try and see how it works for you first Smiley  You should get roughly half as many shares as with the old 16 setting, but each one will count for twice as much as before.

I've been thinking about a way to have a port for slower miners with a lower difficulty and a separate port for faster ones with a higher one.  When I work out all the details I will work on making it available.

Vardiff would be better but that's....well...complicated to implement with this environment.

I did notice that I am getting about half as many shares as before. However, I dont think they are quite as near twice the value. But that is ok. My computers suck, I havent even tweaked them yet, and I dont think you should have to specially create or make any concessions for people like me that have really slow equipment. Its a nice thought but you may just be too generous

I think slower miners should want to get or create a better rig and not be catered to. If they are, they are going to expect that with all pools and it removes the incentive to either get new equipment or even tweak (or learn to tweak) what they currently have access to.

Believe me, I would benefit immensely if you made any concessions for slower miners but I dont believe you should just based on the principle of the matter Smiley

I have a quick question about running cpuminer on Ubuntu and Linux Mint 15 (Cinnamon); which are almost identical to run

1) How do I add scrypt-jane into my command line when starting the miner? What exactly do I type

2) I just updated the miner a few days ago, was scrypt-jane included? if not,

3) Can I install it and not have it affect my regular cpumining operations (BBQ, WDC, etc)? Or once I install it will I always be running scrypt-jane?

Sorry if those are n00b questions. But I have never had to deal with this on cpu miner before and I wanted to give YAC a try

How can a noob cpu mine cryptos, and which is the best for a noob with a cpu?

The Alt Coins I mine with CPU are BBQ, WDC, YAC, NiB, BTG, and BTB

All of those are standalone coins (means they are not merge mined on the Bitcoin chain) and most of those have a fairly low difficulty.

These are the mining pools I use for each

BBQ Coins
bbq.ltcoin.net (PPS - Pay Per Share) <-- here you canearn more per share depending on your CPU strength
silverwolf.ath.cx (PPLNS - Pay per last N Share) <-- here you will earn shares faster

WDC, YAC, NiB, and BTB Coins at ltcoin.net (All PPS)
yac.ltcoin.net
nib.ltcoin.net
btb.ltcoin.net (highest difficulty)
wdc.ltcoin.net

BTG (Bit Gem) and Bitbar (BTB) at Binary Coins
btg.binarycoins.eu
btb.binarycoins.eu

I have to stay away from LTC and FTC (FeatherCoin) because the difficulty is too high for cpu mining (for me). The other coins like Devcoins (worthless and useless) and ixcoins (and others) are merged mining on the BTC chain. Its just annoying and pointless

I know there is 1 or 2 that I am gorgetting that I do mine from time to time; bet I remember them as soon as I post this reply

Was Anyone Here  involved with Bitcoin when it was valued at mere Pennies? How many years ago was this?
Anyone here buy 100,000+ and make a fortune?

I was involved probably 2009 or early 2010. I started collecting them thinking they may be used in a popular online game like WoW or something new that may have come out. But once they jumped up and started being worth .50 USD to 1 USD I thought "Its never going to go higher than this, dump them, this is a fluke." And I did get rid of all but 9 BTC. And it was only because I missed an email from a person (went to spam) that wanted to Paypal me for the last 9 or 10 BTC I had. If I had caught that email I wouldnt have had any left.

I really never thought they were going to go nay higher than that. Things were developing very slowly. Hell, if I remember correctly DailyBitcoins used to give away .5 BTC once every 24 hours. Then when it got up to about $1 USD per BTC they dropped it down to .05 BTC once per 24 hours and I remember thinking "What a waste of time and effort...never going back to that site."
