301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ZEC] ZCASH - All coins are created equal. Discussion Thread (Unofficial) on: September 24, 2016, 05:31:38 PM

before launch?? is there testnet zcash? it is no value, according to zcash website.

remember yobit lisk and yobit waves? something like..
trade future price is a messy thing.

yes, iou trading sucks, and the price is generally overvalued, zcash price is 0.08? WTF, lmao. No people will buy this when the real zcash launch.
Perhaps.

Or perhaps the slow start to mining and the exceptional interest in the BitMEX futures market will make for a vertical take off. Many people have been waiting a long time for this coin.
302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: September 24, 2016, 05:28:53 PM
I may not understood the concept of IOTA, but the need of issuing a transaction to check proper sync sounds strange Sad
Consider that transactions have no fee and can also be for 0 IOTA.

It's a futures market, so you are trading on the December price of ZEC.
304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Zcash GPU miner on: September 24, 2016, 04:41:56 AM
That zero pound cloud mining is a scam, they fail to mention that the block reward for the first few weeks/months is very little. So you are paying a huge amount to mine almost nothing.
This is not true, they were upfront about that from the beginning (even offering a discount because of it).

What's more they are now sold out. They are very poor scammers indeed if they set a limit to how much money they wanted to steal.

Is it possible to generate iota addresses for a paper wallet on an offline PC that never goes on the internet?

Sure of course.

And I'll save you some time in the future. The phrase you are looking for here is "air gapped".

cool, I thought maybe to generate an address and have it 'known' on the tangle required some PoW be done. When I last tried running the wallet generating an address took about 90 sec and my CPU went into overdrive

That's right and recommended, but you can also use the address without attaching it to the tangle. It will get attached to the tangle when someone makes a transaction towards it. So your seed doesn't have to leave the offline machine.

When I tried generating some addresses on an air gapped PC I was only able to generate one address per seed. When I went to 'receive' an address appeared, but when I click 'attach to tangle'  the wallet just shows 'no milestone yet' for obvious reasons, and I can't see how to go onto generate a second address while the first is trying to attach to the tangle, so the user can't generate multiple addresses from a single seed on an air gapped PC. Is there a way to generate addresses using an api call maybe? I need more than one address for my balance, but would prefer using one seed.
This is a good question.

I imagine this functionality can be added to the GUI at a later date, but I would be interested to know for sure.
306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Zcash GPU miner on: September 21, 2016, 12:44:02 PM
None are released to the public yet, afaik.

You can pay BTC and have someone else mine for you using a GPU at: http://cloud.zeropond.com/

Make sure you do your own due diligence first, however.

What is this services ? .
Read the website - you buy a three month contract and they mine Zcash for you at the given hash rate.

You may or may not make a profit.

Looking from your posts you seem to be in the IOTA devs pocket.
Ha, you might be onto something there, Colombo!  Grin

hi

what are you doing while your are waiting for a confirmation of a transaction.

i am reading here and posting some stuff.
While waiting for a Tx confirmation, it is best to listen to the blockchain music created by new transactions - https://chainflyer.bitflyer.jp/
This is brilliant! Not very tuneful, but I'm sure there's some artistic merit  Grin
310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Racist German IOTA mods ban on: September 19, 2016, 09:45:25 PM
Racist German IOTA mod on slack just banned me for no reason.

Some guy with a German email address tried to scam me with fake escrow and when I flagged it up he started calling me a nigger by pm then the German mod immediately took his side with no proof or evidence shown and called me a nigger by pm then banned me.

Fucking racist German scum.

I would advise not buying IOTA at current prices, they will crash as soon as they hit an exchange.

There are only around 300 holders of IOTA so unless they significantly spread the IOTA it is destined to fail.  We hold the cards not the IOTA holders.

Stop buying and watch them sweat.

So you were trying to buy some IOTA, had a bad experience, and now you suddenly think it is destined to fail?

I also have no problems with confirmation time.
What if you send some BTC to, say, a trading website and you are waiting for them to confirm? You seem to miss the point.
Even with a good fee it still takes an amount of time.
You are right, didn't thought about this scenario, I'm long gone from trading, never had the nerve for it but back in the day I was always transferring my coins overnight...
so the answer to "what are you doing" is sleeping Smiley But it is exactly as I sad before, TX and forget till morning or whatever.

               Gotta have tranquillity dude!
I am starting to think your way of life is superior Cheesy

I also have no problems with confirmation time.
Transaction done, close the client and forget till whatever.
Just use decent fee when sending, don't be a cheap snake and all the aggravation will be thing of the past. In case of receiving, as well I quickly check for 1 confirmation and than I close the block explorer, call me naive or stupid but I have had zero problems to date.
Fee, fee and fee is the key Wink

Wow. Is it that "painful" to wait for a confirmation? Cheesy I just get on with my life and forget about it...
Sometimes you need to perform another action once it is confirmed, so you are sort of tied to your PC.

It's is more frustrating that it need be considering I am at a PC most of the time anyway Cheesy

So we have to add IPs manuallay again?
Yes, though there will be a light wallet soon that will be easy to use.

315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [IOTA] IOTA Speculation on: September 19, 2016, 01:40:27 PM
I am looking to buy 1Ti for 15 BTC
I will only go through Escrow with Yassin or Seccour.

Those days are over.
Asks have been removed but Bids haven't gone up that much. Sellers may eventually lower their expectations.

Seems unlikely with only 300 sellers and a whole market keen to acquire a slice.
Where do you get the 300 sellers from?

The ICO was around 300 participants wasn't it?

I guess there must be a few OTC buyers too ofc, but I doubt there have been thousands of them yet, so it's still a sellers market until a few weeks on exchanges really helps the distribution along. Wink
Yes, I think you are right. It will be really interesting to watch the action when it hits exchanges.

It's consolidating, that's all. Probably shoot up pretty soon.

This is a great idea!
