I've been on guiminer for a few hours, stales are at 7.5% and dropping. Anyone else on guiminer getting the "connection problems" under gpu speed?

Another thing, GUIMiner shows 0 stale shares, but the site is still showing a percentage... any ideas why?

Those are DOA shares. That means a new p2pool share has been found before you submitted your work.  Because the work you submit may still solve a block, it is still excepted by the pool.

How is running a raffle like this not illegal?
How is it illegal?

Raffles can only be done by charitable/non-profit organizations. In Florida, in particular, you can not require payment to enter any raffle. Some organizations get around this by asking for a recommended donation, but no payment can officially be required.

edit user.cfg with an entry line for each pool

percent:XX

where XX = 100 / # of pools enabled

for p2pool you should use p2pmining as it is the only node offering difficulty 1 shares, if you don't use diff 1 shares BH will end in a mess as it hops between pools counting shares(diff 1 shares)
p2pmining.com would work, but it isn't needed.  You can just add "/1" after your worker's username and that does the same with the current version of p2pool.

However, I did set difficulty 1 shares and I still got a horrible reject rate.  I think its because of the massive amounts of longpolls.

Use +1 not /1 to the end of your username.

Just added ability to look at hashrates and DOA/stale rate over different time spans. Checkout at http://p2pmining.com/?method=pool#ui-tabs-4

What is going on?  It seems very strange that we don't solve a block all day and then solve three blocks in a row!?

i noticed you said you are using 2 AND 3 difficulty shares, does that imply that i can set it so i can accept multiple difficulties of shares?

currently running at 4 difficulty and getting promising results, faster acceptance rate compared compared to 1 difficulty shares

EDIT: exact performance boost... .93 shares/m vs when i was at 1 diffcult was getting .62 /m ( 2 hours average)

Some of my mining rigs are set for difficulty 3 shares and some are difficulty 2 shares.  You can have multiple rigs mining to the same bitcoin address with different difficulty shares.

Started using BAMT yesterday.  It works great on p2pmining.com  I am getting less stale/DOA and higher hashrate on all my cards.  I should of upgraded from linuxcoin a long time ago.
All I changed was the overclocking settings and Pool address and username.  I have been using 2 and 3 difficulty shares.

Note: Gigabyte motherboards that end with UD3 or UD3H don't seem to be able to boot Bamt.

switched over to CG miner and im getting terrible MH/s Rates.. like 100Mh vs the 250~ i was getting with the same clocks and stuff on just GUI miner.. my setting look like this
CGminer 2.3.3

Looks like it's working now on the current miners http://p2pmining.com/?method=pool#ui-tabs-4

How did you fix it?

I hope its fixed crosses fingers.

The Last block at 7:56PM EST is still showing a low payout maybe it will take 24 hrs for me to catch back up. Good thing is I didn't show any MINED payout on the last block so that part is fixed.
The only other thing I noticed was the Share % is still show 0%, but that may be a switch over to PPLNS.

I felt bad that you lost out because of my screw up.

I took some of my last payout from the last block and transferred it to your address http://p2pmining.com/?method=miner&data=1JkxLX3FC8dovhcSSAEVyb6Z7786PPqvXK#ui-tabs-1

Can you check the payouts on the latest changes, I'm showing 0% share on the last few blocks.I switched back to your pool@midnight PST to test out the new difficulty code and to see how the new DOA stats work Currently 5%. Your 30% more BTC stat "Just when I thought I was out they pull me back in" lol. I verified my miners are pointed to you, and that my local p2pool is not showing any new shares. I did notice some payouts but they aren't the normal payouts i get from your pool. they are  (Newly Generated Coins) payouts. If you switched the payouts then stats on your site are NOT reflecting it.

http://p2pmining.com/index.php?method=miner&data=1JkxLX3FC8dovhcSSAEVyb6Z7786PPqvXK

There was a problem with my p2pool code yesterday morning.  The Mysql database connection closed in the python script and then when Someone found a block (You) and it kept throwing an error and your worker kept submitting a valid share over and over again to my client.  Well I guess your address then was forwarded as an owner of that share and was put into the p2pool payout addresses for a few blocks. During this time, your shares where not getting recorded in the database which is why your payouts from the pool are so much less.  As you can see now, your payouts are climbing back up.  To make up for the snafu yesterday, I sent a subsidy.  The extra bitcoin that you received from direct generation should cover losses from your shares not being recorded.

Sorry for the screw up.  I fixed all the errors and I did some error catching so this should not happen again.

The other miners address you PMd me has a different issue. He is a pool hopper and his rewards are now greatly reduced from the new PPLNS system. His loss is our gain.
312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [15 GH/s]P2Pmining.com-Hybrid standard and P2Pool-NMC/IXC/I0C/DEV on: April 26, 2012, 03:50:35 AM
New feature -> Dynamic Difficulty

You can change the difficulty of shares that you submit.

The default setting is to use a dynamic difficulty based on p2pming.com total hashrate. This may not be desirable on some mining rigs.  To set a specific difficulty, just add a + at the end of your username followed by the desired difficulty.  I have tested this with CGminer and it works.

example cgminer command line for 1.5 difficulty shares

Code:
cgminer -o http://p2pmining.com:9332 -O 1KgFh9kWBpz4TsX92xcx78VQ2Fo1jP2Ddx+1.5:anything -g 1 -I 8

minimum difficulty allowed is 1.

Tweaking this setting could increase/decrease hashrate or rejected and doa shares.

Difficulty is tracked along with shares submitted.  So, for example, 4 difficulty 1 shares are worth the same as 1 difficulty 4 shares.

So would a lower difficulty decrease rejected? Or the other way around?  Reason I ask is I have been struggling to lower my rejects, I have already been using -g 1 -I 8 and this did help, but I am still having a much higher rate than most i see on the charts here.

All I can say is maybe.  If you are mining under 800 Mh/s then I would start at trying a difficulty of 2.

See new miner list to see how your stales and DOA compare to other miners at http://p2pmining.com/index.php?method=pool#ui-tabs-4

Someone PM me a good question.  How much more BTC as a percentage does all these merged mining blocks give you based on current exchange rates (Vircurex).  I did some calcs and to my surprise here are the results:

Devcoin - 0.47%
iXcoin - 2.5%
i0coin - 3.7%
Namecoin - 25%

Total of 31.6% more BTC (Theoretically) with merged mining vs. without

24hr PPLNS is now in effect

I am running CGMiner 2.2.5 with -g 1 . That's it. I don't set the intensity. I let the dynamic intensity do its job.
You could probably set the intensity up considerably higher than what the dynamic intensity sets it to. Dynamic intensity is just there to allow for normal desktop functions and usually hovers around 3-5 on my machine. Your cards could probably upped to around 7-8.

I use to set at 8 but I wanted to try this to see if the rejects would go down. It didn't.

You can see a orphaned i0coin block on the merged mining tab .

What pools still use proportional payouts?
318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [15 GH/s]P2Pmining.com-Hybrid standard and P2Pool-NMC/IXC/I0C/DEV on: April 24, 2012, 11:40:54 PM
I get 3.4% DOA and I have the biggest miner on P2Pmining.com.  If we can all get to 3.4% we would be making a killing.  We would be making more per hash than any other pool, fee included.

I am running CGMiner 2.2.5 with -g 1 . That's it. I don't set the intensity. I let the dynamic intensity do its job.  I am in Northern Michigan and the server is in Southern Florida and My mining rigs are on a crappy AT&T DSL. I use Linuxcoin on thumb drives and have 7 5970s and 2 5870s and 2 5770s.  The 5770s are mining on windows 7 64bit.  That's all there is to it.
319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [15 GH/s]P2Pmining.com-Hybrid standard and P2Pool-NMC/IXC/I0C/DEV on: April 24, 2012, 11:17:29 PM
DUE TO POOL HOPPING I'LL WILL BE SWITCHING TO PPLNS INSTEAD OF PROPORTIONAL.

This will occur in the next day or two.  There will be a bump (30 seconds of all rejected shares) in the server when I restart P2Pool.

Should be interesting mathmatically. A PPLNS pool (p2pmining) mining to a PPLNS pool (p2pool). Double Whammy Smiley

Any suggestions on time for a PPLNS. Should it be 24hrs like p2pool, 12hrs, 48hrs, 1 week, etc.?

P2Pool seems to be on a big ass run of bad luck. Figures that would happen after I shell out some bucks for a new server.

These shells? http://www.24shells.net/#cho2

Are you on VPS or Dedicated now? Maybe look at these also...
http://ritmohost.com/index.php?page=linux_vps
http://magmahost.com/vps.html
http://swvps.com/dedicated-servers.html
http://www.sshvm.com/

One of the above has dedicated servers starting at $34.95/month.

Just went from VPS to dedicated server. All the daemons for the currencies ate up too much memory for a VPS.  I couldn't even compile on the VPS. Had to compile at home and upload the binary. Everyone probably saw some connection issues during the change over and testing.  Thanks for the heads up on the other suppliers.  I am paying $120 a month for the following:

Hardware
2.33Ghz Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200
2GB DDR2
500GB SATAII
Remote Reboot
Network
3TB (3,000GB) Transfer / 100Mbps Port
Software
Ubuntu 11.10 64 Bit
