301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Dish] Dish | First Anonymous Coin | Inventor of X11, DGW, Darksend and InstantX on: April 01, 2016, 07:16:32 PM
Anybody selling a full masternode? If you wish we can arrange a deal

So the base unit of currency is now a masternode?

I don't remember if you are a troll but in case someone wants to buy 1-2K Dash it's legit to ask if someone wants to fix a deal. It's more efficient than putting the dash on an exchange, and faster.

So maybe someone wants to get a little less than 7K$, I am happy to buy his node. Doesn't look absurd to me

Cheers,

G.

As per above: KYC at Exmo is terrible and it takes a HUGEEE amount of time and they haven't been very responsive to my emails.
I agree, having instant X is good, but right now as a user I have to say there are better Exchanges

Other question

I have some exchanges but maybe you are more up-to-date
Best EUR/BTC exchanges? Need some more to fuel up dash

On a similiar topic i confirm that KYC is a pain on exmo, sorry to say that

Sorry if i quote myself Smiley

Question

I am sending Dash back and forth to myself to create new addresses (given that I am changing provider)

But i can' completely send the last 1000. When i am in the coin sending feature, I keep getting some change cause it uses all the 1000 to pay commission and not the spare change (say I have 3500 dash, i send 1000 3 times, i can't send the 500 - they are locked)

how to fully unlock the wallet?

Cheers and happy Easter

G.

Thanks to both of you

I have the mastenode.conf and it's actually

ID Privkey collateral index (usually 0 or 1)

The one i should put in dash whale is the privkey, right? they all begin with X. When i insert one i get "wrong format"

Stressing Cheesy

That's a weird format, how are you ever starting a node if there's no IP?
Anyway, log into your VPS(s).
Assuming it's a linux OS, launch this:

cd .dash
nano dash.conf

you should be able too see the masternode privkey

//

Are you sure you did not put on your masternode.conf your wallet private keys? If you aren't, I suggest you to compare the ones you see on masternode.conf with the ones you get from the command dumpprivkey <address of the collateral> after having unlocked the wallet.

Sry ofc there is the IP

The masternode.conf is actually able to start with which keys?

Getting a bit crazy here sry for all requests

How to get the key to vote back? the one that usually starts with 7

I dont' get how but it's not in my masternode.conf or any other file. For every node I have the pubblic address, the private one (both starting with X) and the collateral, the long string that is used in the masternode.conf to mass start nodes
Don't have anything starting with a 7

Sick Sad

Do not ever share your address private key with anyone. That's all you need for owning a given address.
masternode genkey  should do the trick, launch it from the local wallet.

Ehi m8 Wink Ty again for all

But speaking of the process, i am not that retarded (all pub keys begin with K and if i got well masternode keys with 7). I have several nodes running and i can 't locate anything beginning. If i go with masternode genkey I get a new one, not the ones for my old nodes running

I still don't get why I can't cast a vote via dash whale. It doesn't recognize the privkeys; the walletpassphrase wasn't used

What command do you use, masternode genkey or dumpprivkey?
You should use masternode genkey.

I am actually positive that I used that, but which one of the keys is?

I think is the one that is MNprivkey in the node conf file

Meanwhile...

I am messing up with Dashwhale Sad

I can't get to cast a vote

I am using the privkey, but it says it's in the wrong format, and i dumped that from wallet. So any help to understand where to get the eventually correct one it's great

I was almost good at setting the master nodes with the addresses Smiley

What do you mean we have to do more marketing? Grin      JK, great post. Welcome back!

I think that public awareness of the project is very low; Dash is much more exciting than BC from just every perspective and the dev team (that whoever worked in a company with ANY kind of development knows as the most important thing) is simply astonishing. Indeed we should work more.

I'll go to vote on some proposal (very easy with dash whale Smiley)

Last year (about 15 months ago) I decided to invest a certain amount in DASH. By doing that, my time horizon was (and is) of several years. In fact, the drop in price and the panic selling, the dump after stealing and whatever happened didn't change my opinion about how cool dash is.

Then I had a lot of personal issues; i wasn't able to follow the project on a weekly base, giving just a look at my masternodes to be sure that they were up.

In the very last days i came back, trying to recover all i lost. And i was impressed.

DASH made a lot of stuff. I was informed about the budgeting system, but is much better. I knew about the voting system, but via dashwhale it's so easy. I know about running a node, but a lot of great services are now running at a fair price that take a bit of your yearly ROI off but nothing more that a couple points given the expenses they have.

And probably there is a lot more i don't know. So - tell me whatever else i should read. I don't get the tech stuff, but i trust ed and all the core team. I like and understand of mktg and communication. And I think we should do more on that side. Give me more stuff to read Smiley

Overall, this is something that might change the world, and one day it will be great to tell to our sons and nieces "Hey, I was part of it since the beginning"

Thank you all for your great job

Thanks

Cut

There's plenty of providers out there for VPS, but you may want to consider a hosting service like node40. They can be a bit pricey, but very stable and easy and offer pretty much everything you are looking for.

Hi

No, i am not interested in node 40. The cost is good for a single node, but if you go up it cuts a lot of your profit; even with my skills i managed to hold a certain amount of nodes for a long while (I didn't begin today Smiley ). I want to merge nodes to low costs and stress and not viceversa

OFC if they can do a personalized deal it's totally different! Smiley

CROSSPOSTING from Dashtalk

Hello

I am a proud owner of some Masternodes. I've posted sometimes here and on BCtalk, but I am not enough a technical savvy to do things properly, so I've always looked at guides (thanks Tao!) and on the forum to understand what to do.

I strongly believe that DASH is a great project, and I want to be part of it. Also, I want my "process" to run smoothly without a lot of issues, downtimes, drops of connectivity.

I actually hold my masternodes on Vultr. While i am extremely happy with their service, they are great if you have a single masternode, and they become borderline even with 2-3 nodes.
It's pretty easy to understand why. The cheap VPS will hold a node. If you try to have 2 IPs on the same VPS it's extremely hard for it to manage. I currently do that, but every once in a while a node drops and that means money.
Also, with EVOLUTION coming i fear that the VPS won't be able to hold 2 nodes.
OFC, you can buy more instances.

But in the end, if you have a certain amount of nodes it's much better to have a single server (not a VPS, a server) that hosts ALL the nodes.

I am here to ask for the following:

- Identify a proper service given the amount of nodes i want to setup. ANY advice is welcome (online.net my current pic)
- Move all my nodes to the new service. It should be trivial actually (it's just a change of IP)
- Setup on the new machine ALL the proper alerts if a node goes down, if something is wrong, whatever. This is something where i need help from a Linux-confident person
- More stuff that i may have to do

For the last 2 I understand that some time is required, so i will pay some DASH (tell me your price) to who helps me. OFC i will lurk the net to understand who wants to help and see if he's a good fellow

PLEASE NOTE: if by any chance you think that VULTR is still better just tell me why

Cheers,

Giulio

This topic is almost unreadable.

Please, stop discussing with trolls, stop beaving like kids, stop being "fanboys" without any reason.

Have a smart discussion about the product that is indeed something. But these messed up discussion will scare potential investors, not viceversa Wink
