I believe everything is in place for the new wallet. Still doing some testing. It is based on Bitcoin/Litecoin core 0.10.x, that should include core features to assist in extending the coin in the future.

It has nothing to do with greed. I really do not need the money. In fact, I did not make money with AMS. The main goal for AMS was to get cryptocurrency accepted in stores. The dream was that on some day we can pay with AmsterdamCoin in the stores of Amsterdam. We had some trouble with the blockchain, I agree with that. It was all done with best intensions and its a pitty that it ends like this. Sometimes when you have a goal it turns out unachievable. I am afraid that this is one of them. Nevertheless I am willing to help if someone still believes in the main goal of AMS and wants to take over AMS. It deserves more attention than I can give it at the moment. I would have accepted that the mistake was mine alone I would have turned it into a positive by declaring that the coins would be considered burned and the supply is now much lower so everyone wins I would have spent a bunch of BTC buying up the market, raise the price and get plenty of coins back in my hands, sure I might not get 80k in a hurry but I wouldn't need to. Maybe 10k will be worth more when the price goes up 10x and they are harder to buy. I would not even entertain the idea of forcing a rollback of the blockchain and make everyone else take responsibility for and pay for my mistake So, spend some bitcoin (which you dont mind telling everyone is peanuts to you) and you could have turned this into a good thing, shown everyone 'You dont pull bullshit' and put a rocket up FLY. Rollbacks destroy coins, this will be no exception. I've never heard of one taking place because someone couldn't unlock their wallet. I am not sure you appreciate the gravity of doing what you are doing. It's a huge mistake mate. I would have happily sent you half my stash, Im sure your team would help out too. Good luck trying to get them on any exchange worth shit and sell them for any value now, I'll will do what you should have done, written off my coins. I am out. IF you actually go through with a coin swap, you should talk to these guys. They actually DO know what they are doing, since it is how their entire system works. They have a little bit more practice at it than the average coin Dev. I think BARR is the only project left. DGCS was doing a similar campaign but is long gone. DGCS did a couple coin burns and the project stopped as people were taking advantage of the campaigns. As for the question of keeping FLY as it is, rebranding, or merging another coin... I don't have a clear opinion at the moment. I am still soaking it all in. |

There is a reason why the code was designed that way, different compilers and systems can treat doubles differently (or so I have read) and this could lead to two different systems disagreeing over the math and forking. Its always better to use an int that is multiplied by 100 and then divide it by 100 at the end.

Because I was side track by other things I was not able to implement the changes in the PoW rewards in time for the schedule listed in the post above (Option 1 or Option2). So here is the new PoW rewards schedule for the next wallet release.
At block 700 000 reduce reward to 16 XMINE
Halving every 200 000 blocks after that (16, 8, 4, 2, 1 )
Coin supply at block 840000:
Premine: 8.4 Mil (not my premine, but it is mostly sitting here: MAodh4Nyb4fXMQsgYDhsEXbNouq9mpv5um)
Blk 700K: 70.0 Mil (100 XMINE per block)
Blk 900K: 3.2 Mil ( 16 XMINE per block)
Blk 1.1M: 1.6 Mil ( 8 XMINE per block)
Blk 1.3M: 0.8 Mil ( 4 XMINE per block)
Blk 1.5M: 0.4 Mil ( 2 XMINE per block)

When we near block 1.7M we can decide if the coin continues to reward 1 XMINE per block or drop to Transaction Fees only. This will be put to the community and also we will analyze the amount of transactions and reward for miners at that time. If there are not enough transaction Fees to support miners the Money Supply could be extended to 90M XMINE and continue a 1 XMINE reward per block. But that is something that can be discussed in a years time when we near that point.
I am considering buying up a block of XMINE and posting the address as a Development or Promotional Fund. This could help reduce the money supply by holding a large amount of the money supply out of circulation.

Unlocked:4,975,066 (non-hodled)
Unproductive:2,188,412 (amount not moved after term deposit maturation)
Over 30 Days:1,996,883 (number resting for more than 30 days)
The number of unlocked HODLs is quite high actually. And there's another 2 million that are unlocked but not moved. So the amount that will come into circulation might not hurt the price so much. But still trading volume is very low Just don't dump all the HODL at the same time at the low price, sell little HODL then lock some amount of HODL again, as time goes, it will give some time to new adopter buy new HODL and they can help to create a suitable environment where HODL price can rise. We just need to be optimistic. We need a market to spend the HODL we are not Hodling.  |
