301  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: [POLL] Will BFL deliver a Bitforce SC ASIC by October 31, 2012 on: September 13, 2012, 07:41:36 PM
I like BFL but I agree that they won't hit October only because I think they are trying to make sure that when they do ship they can ship out reorders before the end of the year.  Again I think and based off of what I have been reading all input supports this thought.  I don't think they will go past November because many of us won't stand for it.  Also the numbers are really high and I expect that we won't hit those high of numbers but looking at their past changes in numbers I can live it if they are that high.  Also BFL has provided a strong reason to why they missed the numbers and how they have fixed that on items such as the mini-rig so who knows maybe they can hit those numbers as advertised.

My opinion and yes I own BFL stuff and going to SC.
302  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Does Butterfly Labs Deliver? on: September 13, 2012, 07:37:39 PM
I like my mini-rig.  But my estimated btc income per day is dropping slowly little by little...
Its going to do that since that is how bitcoins works, sucks and I am right there with you.

To answer the bigger question, they deliver!  Slow and with some tweaks but they do deliver.  Got first single perfect no problems but slow.  Got ten more singles and slow again but two out of ten did not work right, traded out and two weeks later they were replaced.  All 11 working and if I could get the room colder without effecting cost they work as listed.

I will send a photo of my little crop soon.  Also I am in on a mini-rig too but that is hosted offsite.

Getting ready for the SC switch too so looking forward to that (I hope that goes well but I know BFL will deliver on those in Nov'ish time).
303  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Pool Operators - PLEASE BAN & BLOCK GPUMAX getwork/proxy access to your pool on: September 13, 2012, 07:31:17 PM
My POV:

Pirate40 + GPUMax involvement or control = Trust?

Got sent an account access approval on the 9th when things were going to happen in the whole repayment farce and so checked it out but basically I am staying far away.

I would think we would want to promote more trusted ops then non-trusted ops but I get why some feel it should be left alone.
304  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Running rigs in the wilderness on: September 13, 2012, 07:25:39 PM
I saw a rig in a backyard with snow on it, I think on Google image or somewhere.  I don't think it is the best idea but to each their own.
305  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: Where to meet in Southern California??? on: September 13, 2012, 04:03:26 AM
So question for the group while we try to figure out if and where we can meet.  So out of all of So Cal we only have 8 people following this group?  I know I am new here but I would have thought that So Cal or CA would have more people chatting and or meeting.

I guess its a small world, for now.
306  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: Where to meet in Southern California??? on: September 13, 2012, 03:54:59 AM
Your Missing like half of southern california on your list  Grin

If you look on a map its like a giant "C" thats backwards but your missing  Orange County and LA County on that List.

Your missing the middle of southern Claifornia.
I'd vote Orange County or LA.

added orange county

people don't like LA. It's like new york or chicago, crime and crappy gun laws and packed with liberals

I have never been to New York or Chicago but I would like to think that those cities are better then LA and not like it.  If so then really no reason for me to go I guess Sad.  OC is good for me.
307  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: Where to meet in Southern California??? on: September 13, 2012, 03:53:01 AM
That is some funny shit, two votes for each one except two which got zeros.  That is funny.

I am cool with coming down to San Diego or OC and even LA but I would need a two day heads up with an address.  If we did meet in San Bernardino I could recommend some places but really not as good as what is in OC or San Diego.

As for the security business cool idea but wow packing some heat my man or what.  I love my guns but wow.
308  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BitBrew/BitLasers mutual promotion! on: September 13, 2012, 03:47:40 AM
So basically I can now get a BFL coffee warmer, add BitBrew Coffee and show how shaky I am from all the coffee.  I see a trend in the BitCoin world.

Really this is great and I will look into ordering some coffee in support.  The laser is cool but I don't need one now but maybe later.  Good luck on the sales. Grin
309  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BitMe now accepting new payment methods (Direct Deposit, wires, cash deposits) on: September 13, 2012, 03:41:01 AM
Thanks for the effort but the bar has been raised for folks asking to trust me with your bitcoins on my website gig.

Great, you should be skeptical. It's hard to reply to this as you haven't raised any specific concerns. I will say there isn't any cheap VPS hosting here and you won't find a large irreplaceable hot wallet as you would with Bitfloor.

I have seen considerable new interest in the site since adding these new payment methods. I have laid out why you should use BitMe on the homepage and am trying to be reasonably transparent with a security and disclosure policy. I encourage you to read through our Terms of Use and Security Policy.

Well the first concern is that I see one post with very little content promoting the site.  Second I don't see allot of content here telling me the site is as a solid reason to put my coins into.  Third you list the following: "BitMe, LLC is a US-based business that was founded in April 2012 in the State of Michigan and opened for business as an open beta on July 8, 2012." so why not give us your company listing number and more information about you Limited Liability Company since you set one up, it would help us understand who we are dealing with.  Fourth, is it just you or is there a team that I know is handling this operation in an effective manner.

At the end of the day I know I am going to be doing my due diligence on all bitcoin ventures since recently we have allot folks standing up sites with not a whole lot of substance all in the attempt to get fees for their efforts.  Right now there is just not enough telling me this is a venture with allot behind it.  Also I did not list much in why I had concerns because it is not my responsibly to improve your business for free.  There are many other things I can go into but right now I have other things to do and we would need to cover my billing rates for additional business services.

Good luck

310  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BitMe now accepting new payment methods (Direct Deposit, wires, cash deposits) on: September 12, 2012, 03:40:25 AM
I am proud and excited to announce that BitMe is now accepting several new payment methods in addition to AurumXchange VouchX:

  • Direct Deposit to your bank account
  • Cash Deposit
  • Wire Transfer - US
  • Wire Transfer - International

So not to be a dick but why would I come here to your site?  You put a short post and then say, come on down and invest your money?  After bitfloor and a few other recent efforts I will check your site out but until I see more going on no bitcoins will be going in.

Thanks for the effort but the bar has been raised for folks asking to trust me with your bitcoins on my website gig.
311  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: bitfloor needs your help! on: September 12, 2012, 03:27:53 AM
When I try to log in for an ACH transfer I get:

The server didn't respond in time.

Shtylman?

Agreed, so as time passes more and more of bitcoin is fading away with no word of any action or future plans.  It is beginning to look more and more like there will be not bitfloor in the future.  Please someone tell me that is not the case but until then I will keep an eye out for the future blogs of what action (or talk of action) do we do next those who were with bitfloor.

Signed,
Slowing losing patience
312  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you think that there is something funny about BFL's new ASIC on: September 11, 2012, 12:49:58 PM

This is a picture of one of the helper monkeys that work behind the scenes at EMC to send all those text and email messages.  People always wonder what they look like.

I knew it.  Now how do I order one of those  Grin

This is cool, keep it up and a windows deployment would be sweet.

Source please, OMG pending.

Yep, it seems questionable. Doing more research.

My apologies for believing this outright.

Is LM looking to find those familiar with Bitcoin to start using it to move money internationally and do things off the radar? Will over organizations seek to do the same? Will the use of Bitcoin by larger organizations give more legitimacy to Bitcoin and result in a more liquid market?

They see bitcoin as possible terrorist money. That's now the corporate view. They're looking for a "counter-terrorism expert".
This is not a corporate view this is a military/gov view.  The corp. for this job is a body shop and they get their needs from the customer.

It was BFL who made the statement about the second plug.

sounds to me they change the spec's from time to time...  Wink

Small companies tend to do that, there is this one company that keeps doing that with the cell phones I buy.  What was there name, orange, pear, something with a fruit name.  I know they keep losing their shit in bars. Cheesy
317  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Announcement] Butterfly Labs on: September 10, 2012, 10:46:41 PM
Who has deleted posts before?  Certainly not me.

I don't recall anyone stating that there would be a secondary power supply just for the coffee warmer; I'm not saying someone didn't say that, but I don't recall it and it's not true.  The coffee warming aspect is completely secondary to actually mining, so no it probably won't really keep your coffee all that warm.

There will be no secondary power source for the Jalapeno.  In retrospect, we probably shouldn't have associated it with a coffee warmer, but it is flat and you can set your coffee on it.  It gets warm.

Shit I was counting on that, oh well I guess I can watch it crunch numbers while my equipment keeps me dry by blowing tons of hot air.   Grin
318  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: California meetup in SoCal Sep-Oct 2012 on: September 10, 2012, 10:20:04 PM
We could try again when we have more time but if we do meet I would need a bit more notice and an address.
319  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: bitfloor needs your help! on: September 10, 2012, 10:17:41 PM
So... he said he filed some reports with the FBI, where do we find the record of this?
Well technically if a report was filed you can do a FOIA but during an ongoing investigation it might be slow or after the case is closed.  The fastest and probably best answer is that the person who filed it should request a copy and post it as additional news of actions being done to resolve the matter.  As a show of good faith it might be worth having a copy of the report posted on the site.
