Yes because oftentimes, it was only bitcoin that is featured but they forget that the crypto market is not only about bitcoin but we also have alternative currencies or altcoins as they called it. I think it depends on the coin. If you pick a bad coin then expect a little to less return but there must be coins that do well in short-term. It's a gamble if you pick shitcoins but shitcoins are built for short term purposes only. They don't have long term potential like the top coins.
