I would imagine this is step one of a pyramid scam when the controller builds trust. The trick is not to invest in step two when the money actually disappears. I'm interested, I think I will invest we will see if I can after this comment. (Will update.)

I don't think I have any specific advice like a "trick" (lol) or something, but it seems to me that women like/take interest in people's skills/hobbies. While bitcoin may not be the most mainstream topic, it is obviously something you are interested in, if you are able to convey your passion for the subject (or something else you are truly interested in) in a low-key uncrazed way I think it could score you a lot of points. Let her know what you are about while letting her tell you what she is...
Somebody (forget who at this point) had started a topic that was like "the ladies like my bitcoin..." that made me lol, you might want to read that too I found it interesting.

If you have a spare hard drive, you can use the dd command to duplicated your install exactly as it is now onto another hard drive. I do this all the time to save settings. Just make sure the spare is in fact fully working and you will have no worries with that upgrade.

I wish I had something helpful to say. Good luck, my thought is that this is just a communication problem I believe he also has other pending transactions which it would not behoove him to walk away from.
