301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So we got new CEO of Binance on: November 22, 2023, 01:46:13 PM
My view if Changing positions may be a normal thing in a large company for improvement and future performance, but if that happens until CZ resigns, it would be sad and have an impact on the exchange's reputation as well, but what concerns us is that many people lack information regarding the nature of the SEC claim and the resolution. achieved.

Yeah this is a strategic move by binance. No large company is lead by a single person but Changpeng Zhao was the front face for binance. As the SEC got involved in the running of not only the Binance US but the overall corp, they needed some scapegoat to go clean.
Normally we say SEC put some conditions which the binance complied which included the resignation of CZ. But it reality SEC is a corrupt institution that extorts and just wanted money from Binance and put up the resignation as face saving. CZ could still be involved in binance and can't rule out them selling their share of BNB to get out of this headache.
302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you gained anything after the end of bull run? on: November 16, 2023, 03:53:14 AM
Last bull run was 2021 and after that, altcoins price dumped a lot. In 2022, we noticed a little pump and in this year 2023, altcoins pumped a lot, if compare altcoins price chart after end of bull run.           So have you able to gained anything after the end of last bull run? Or last bull run makes you dumped and you are still trying to regain what you have lost?

I got some profit from solana this time, they pumped x3 and I sold them for profit. They are still holding above 60 but I have non now. I'm also break even with Litecoin and if the market keeps rising, I guess I'll have at least x2 on litecoin. I regret on keeping a good of my amount in USDT and for selling early. I did went with slab based selling this time but still I'm not satisfied with how much profit I'm in. My only hope now is on Litecoin.
If the price sustains, I plan to buy some more coins.

305  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is politics really necessary? on: September 17, 2023, 12:05:27 AM
Politics has become a business in some number of countries i know. Where people from younger to older age are all affected. They are doing politics to gain their power. In all these countries murders, fights, thefts, robberies have increased because they are doing these bad activities using political power.

Disadvantages of politics:
1. The number of your enemies will increase
2. It will be a waste of money.
3. Your time will be wasted.
4. You may have the possibility of death.

It may not be obvious but Politics is a business in each and every country. A few politician might have social service in their mind but almost all of them are involved in some degree of abuse of power and corruption. Just because some countries are much vocal about corruption in other countries doesn't mean they are not corrupt.
306  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can money be saved in gambling sites? on: September 09, 2023, 01:32:15 AM

Is good to save money for future use so we can make good use of it when ever we need to, now what if you decide to save money in your betting account will that be possible to?
We can decide not to save money in our fiat bank account or any other micro finance bank account for one reason or the other and save it in a licensed gambling sites can that idea be possible, will the money deposited there not be tempered with from the gambling platform or removed automatically from the account after keeping it for a long period of time?
I know it might be very hard to save money in a gambling site because we  might have the feelings of winning if we try to stake, it can be hard for a gambler to save money in a gambling site but it will be easy for a non gambler, I put in mind that everything start one day so even a non gambler can try at the first, I bring this discussion here so we can discuss about it to keep our selfs busy.

Providing bankroll for gambling site could be a good way to increase your crypto holdings. Specially the coins you believe in would rise high in the future and doesn't have any better way of getting a reward by staking. For example no staking service would provide you more than 1% on bitcoin interest while its about 12% per year on bankroll investment. The only risk is about the gambling site going scam or changing its bankroll rules. Another risk surely is of you betting all your money out.
For people who religiously refrain themselves from betting and interest bearing wallets, bankroll investment could be a halal thing as here you share the profit. Though you should ignore that it's coming from people losing on gambling.
307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Google New Policy: NFT Ads is allowed starting Sept. 15 on: September 08, 2023, 12:14:12 PM
Google banned crypto ads without much analysis and now as they are loosing a large amount of revenue to the competitors, they enabled NFT ads to tap on the profit stream. Google with google search and Youtube still have no comparable competitors. Elon musks X is trying to compete with everything at the moment but they won't replace youtube anytime soon. And starting with NFT, google may again start accepting all sorts of crypto ads in the near future.
308  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you lose on slots? on: September 07, 2023, 03:02:48 PM
~snip~
Coming back the next day is simply continuing a random series of events.

Nothing changes in the probabilities when a day passes. Or a year. Or a lifetime.

The odds are always the same. And the chances of winning for the gambler are always lower than the house.
Yes, it is true that the probability will remain the same, but that is also okay because they will never think about the probability. They just want to keep playing slots and try to win a few dollars, and if they are really lucky, they can win a lot of money, at least more than the amount they have already won.

And gamblers also know their chances of winning will not be greater than the house. They will also not stop playing slots because they have found pleasure in playing slots. And when they become addicted to playing slots, they won't think about other things because it's not important to them anymore.

Slots are probably the gambling where the house edge is the largest. Many of them do provide provably fair formula and I've never gave it a good look but from the mere work of experiment through playing, it has much lower probability of win on comparison to other gambling options.
The prime reason why I play slots is they are fun. Specially the animations, the animations makes me try new slots and come back to ones. It's due to the animations that it feels a small amount of your money is working for a long time. Slots is all about the graphics. Whenever I play slots, I hope I last for a long time rather than withdraw my earnings.
309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Visa Takes on Crypto with Solana and USDC on: September 07, 2023, 01:46:54 PM
Visa is making big moves in the crypto world. They're teaming up with Solana to expand their stablecoin settlements. Basically, they're using USDC for transactions. This move helps Visa speed up global payments, and it's all part of their ongoing commitment to the evolving crypto scene. Visa's foray into stablecoin settlements on Solana signifies a major milestone in crypto adoption by traditional financial giants. I just hope that Solana can finally get a hold of their scalability and security issues!

Source: https://coinmarketcap.com/alexandria/article/visa-expands-usdc-stablecoin-settlements-using-solana
I think that's an exaggerated rumour. If everything were so simple, stablecoins would have been used in banks long ago. But so far there are no laws on crypto regulation and I don't think it's possible to realise payments via Solana for Visa. This news looks more like something like a new partnership between Ripple and some bank. I mean, it's just hype.

There are already services that allows cashing out crypto using visa networks in ATM. And as USDC and crypto coins are settled on their live price compared to USD, the users would be responsible to any loss due to volatility and accepting parties are going to deal with fiat as user pays with crypto at current price+fees+commission. Yes, it would have been pleasant if we could entirely deal with crypto but till than what VISA could offer would be helpful. And VISA always have been a fiat centered service, for them to accept crypto transaction for it's partners and now by themselves is a bold move from their side.
310  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Disruption In The Gambling Industry Your Opinion on: September 06, 2023, 01:48:15 PM
Even if it's not Stake the top casino in the industry can survive the hacking, they are not the top casino if they do not know that storing all their funds in one wallet is a big risk, if you're a big name in the industry you have diversified businesses portfolio so in case of failure from one venture they can still keep up because of the other ventures I'm sure they have something like emergency funds not really they expect hacking but on unforeseeable scenario.

In the case of Stake, I was worried but after seeing that they could manage I had a sigh of relief my only prayer is for them to recover the lost funds.
Stake, has proven why they are the leader in the industry.

Hacking is the common one in the crypto based industry,Since the Stake is the top casino in this world. So the hackers had try to hack the Stake casino.Luckily Stake had recovered the remaining wallet.Only ETH/BSC hot wallet was hacked and Stake made an official statement worth f 40 million dollars. The good point is the hacker not hacked the btc wallet of Stake.Because most of the casino including the Stake will had their most of the holding in the Stake.Even though hack happened in the Stake, the Stake had recovered the other wallet will be the good news.

Being a gambler,I will pray for Stake to recover their all funds.Even though they can manage the loss,I wish them to recover the remaining loss. The short recovery proved their leadership in the industries. It was the speedy recovery with my knowledge in the crypto field.

Stake surely is a large casino with large volume deposited and withdrawn everyday. But 40 million USD in hot wallet still seems to be a large amount to put on hot wallets. As hot wallet are made with intention of quick access, it naturally is less secured than cold wallets, yet it doesn't mean every hot wallets are susceptible to hacks.
The good thing is it's stake.com and the loss are comparatively small. They could spare it from their profit and still be able to run. It would make them realize of their mistake and they'd work better to keep the funds safe in the future and the specific way of attack would be exposed for the rest of the industry to learn from.
311  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: September 06, 2023, 11:43:25 AM
Personally I was never been able to quit gambling totally. There were a part of my life when I was nearly destroyed due to my compulsive gambling. I tried to quit gambling for good but it was more difficult the more I resisted.
Now I have recovered with a different strategy. I don't use my day jobs salary to gamble anymore. I have dedicated a fixed income source to be used as gambling fund and I stop when I use them all. A controlled gambling has made it easier for me to deal with my life. I'm not sure if it would work for my lifetime but it has worked over a year now.
312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vitalik Buterin Dumps $578K in MakerDAO Tokens on: September 05, 2023, 03:58:59 PM
Vitalik buterin is on an spree to dump everything he finds useless in near future. He dumped shiba Inu, a lot of Ethereum and now makerDAO.
He might be donating some part of it to the cause he believe in but he's also preparing for the next bull run, keeping everything that would make him a multi billionaire on next bull. It's his personal choice and his decisions should not be taken as an investment strategy but it's wise to find out what the experts are doing. Ethereum is clogged enough and won't move. He might also be working silently for a completely new blockchain.
313  Economy / Gambling / Re: Concept of Halal Casino on: September 05, 2023, 02:18:05 PM
Muslims have been selectively interpreting the book of Quran for ages. Alcohol and Gambling had been a part of the muslim world and is still popular among some sects.

Quote
They ask you about wine (khamr) and gambling. Say, "In them is great sin and [yet, some] benefit for people. But their sin is greater than their benefit." Quran 2:219

Quran does accept the presence of alcohol and gambling and accepts it benefit some people. But in general says "sin is greater than their benefit"
So it doesn't outright ban it.
It's an accepted fact that compulsive gambling and compulsive alcoholism is bad. No one in sane mind would call them a good thing.
But a bit of gambling with small part of your earnings and a few pegs of alcohol after a busy day work would be fine.
Even if you believe your religious text prescribes gambling as a sin, you should realize that even if you commit some small sins,

Quote
Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed He is the most Forgiving, the Merciful (Quran 39:53).

314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hedera Hashgraph is ten times better than Ethereum on: September 05, 2023, 12:37:14 AM
True, but for how long? I really hope that some competitors like Headera Hashgraph or Solana get more visibility in 2024. Ethereum as the only altcoin is not right..

in the end Hedera Hashgraph was only an alternative. Ethereum remains the platform of choice. I've seen platforms like Polkadot, Binance smart Chain, Tron and many other Dapps platforms that are trying to undermine the domination of ethereum. but in the end the new project still chose Ethereum. all of that because ethereum has a large community and has been supported by almost all exchanges. Try to see if there is a DEX with a larger volume on another network? no, the biggest DEX (Uniswap) is on the Ethereum platform. and there are many things that other platforms don't have. So regardless of the high cost, ethereum is still the best.

They would shine soon. Ethereum on paper is of no comparison to Hedera or Solana. It's just the headstart of Ethereum that's been keeping it on the upfront. No way can ethereum hold upto the hype of a bull run. It would be just stuck with congestion when people would start trading in volumes. I've been following and buying solana for quite a time now but I nearly forgot about the hedera project. Though not as fast as solana, Hedera would be a cheaper option for transaction with its low price. Thanks to this post from 2020, I could buy hedera now in the similar price as it was in 2020.
315  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Give Him a loan Or Partner With Him on: September 04, 2023, 03:38:10 PM
What would be the best option if a friend who happens to be good at horse racing lost his fortune coming from betting in horse racing because of illness and came to you and asked for a loan and honestly stated that he wants to use it betting in horse racing to recover his fortune.

But you have doubts because he is away betting horse racing for a long period of time and he might lose the money because you have to be updated on the conditions of the horses, jockeys, and the many handicaps, and his anxiety about recovering his fortune might fail he offers you two options loan him money or just partner with him.

What's your best course of action in this scenario?

A common friend confided this to me.

I'd have loaned him and have asked him for a escrow. No gambling strategy are full proof in long run so I'd not be involved in partnership. And if he's so perfect on prediction, he'd not want a partnership for long term.
A person in real life would have something valuable to hold as an escrow and I'd do a proper paperwork to make sure I can get my money back. If the person is so sure about his bet it would not be a problem for him to accept my proposal and I would have a peace of mind the whole time.
316  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: September 03, 2023, 11:37:04 PM
I had a case of compulsive gambling in the past. At one time in my life, I lost everything that I personally owned. I was so devastated from the incident that I got into a serious anxiety and as I kept my gambling a secret I couldn't share it with my parents or friends and it kept getting worse. Ultimately I took help.
Compulsive gambling and hiding it would not only make you lose your wealth but might also destroy your mental health. There are several cases of suicides and homicides relating to gambling. It's preferable to share your gambling hobby and budget to your dear ones so that they'd  be there to prevent you from getting addicted to it.
317  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A typical weekend in sport betting-Why do gamblers still do sport bets? on: September 03, 2023, 03:51:37 PM
I am checking that in every single league of the big ones we have seen at least some surprise result and this is the typical weekend of many of the sport bettors.I wonder why do people still place sport bets because in slot machines I can understand, they run after the maximum payout and they know it is a game of pure luck, yet in here in sport betting it is not only pure luck, there is also skill involved and seeing many of the stronger teams lose their game today means that it is not worth doing anymore sport betting.

What is the reason that sport bettors still continue to place sport bets?

Most of the bets made on sporting events are not based on analysis and stats but on the intuition and preference of the bettor. Many people bet on the person or team they love, their local team or the national team. In short, they are not focused on making a profit from their bets but to have fun along with the game. I've even found people who bet against their favorite, so they would have something to be happy about even if their team lose.
318  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket Asia Cup 2023! Which team will WIN? on: September 01, 2023, 10:15:39 AM
Tomorrow is the biggest match in the cricket world Pakistan vs India. The two countries where people are crazy about cricket. The country that hosts this is Sri Lanka and the city is Kandy. Bumrah has come back to the team of India after a long time. But, the India team depended on Bumrah, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kholi. Pakistan had all types of players if we need a fast bowl so Haris Rauf, Batsman Babar, and Rizwan.
Pakistan vs India team match will start tomorrow. In this match I hope to enjoy a lot of beautiful matches between two teams. There are many good players in both teams. It is very difficult to predict which team will win in this match. But I like Pakistan team players very much.  So I thought I will bet in support of Pakistan team in this match. If Pakistan team can bat first and give a good run target then Pakistan team will have hope to win this match. On the other hand India team bowling and batting are in very good form now this match is very much packed.  Will rise between two teams.

Tomorrow's game between Pakistan and India could give a glimpse to us of the winning team for Asia cup. Pakistan and India are the favorite for the trophy and Afghanistan, Bangladesh as well as Sri Lanka are not in their best form and Nepal doesn't seem to be a competitor either. Though being a group stage game, they'll display the current forms of both the team. Whatever be the results, they'll most likely meet again in the finals. And a one sided game from any team would create pressure for the finals.
319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: September 01, 2023, 07:35:52 AM
Everyone is waiting for the big match tomorrow. Both India and Pakistan can qualify to the Super-4 even if they lose tomorrow's match. But winning it will be a prestige issue for both the teams. And therefore both of them are fielding full-strength squads. Ishan Kishan will be keeping the wickets for India, but they also have Sanju Samson as the reserve player. The only one who is going to miss out is KL Rahul, who hasn't yet fully recovered from injury. And it will be interesting to watch Shreyas Iyer in action, as he had been out of action for more than 6 months.
The Asia Cup match that is at the center of interest is the third match of the Asia Cup between Pakistan and India. India vs Pakistan match is a different type of excitement where there is no way to predict which team will win. The XI announced by Pakistan last time against Nepal is undoubtedly Pakistan's best XI and against India Pakistan may go with the unchanged squad. I am just waiting to see the fast bowling line-up attack of both the teams as both the teams have fast bowling units but neither team is less than that. Shaheen Afridi Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah will lead Pakistan's fast bowling and Md Shami Mohammad Siraj and Jasprit Bhomra may lead India's fast bowling.

For India and Pakistan, a win against each other is much more important than the cup itself. And they haven't met on an ODI for years now,
Statistically, Pakistan is the top ODI team at the moment and it's one of their best teams of this decade. All of this Asia cup holding debacle and the existing controversies around ICC and IPL means it would be a heated competition watched my many with interest.
320  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Constant wins in the casino for several days, then constant losses. Noticed?! on: August 31, 2023, 07:44:54 AM
Playing for many years, I observe a certain series of wins and losses. It looks like it every time! Also in casino chats, a lot of people talk about it.

Most of the time the casino takes the money. But when the winning session comes, on this day many slots give you a solid win, it is impossible to lose. This successful session can last several days.
As soon as this ends, absolutely all slots begin to take money.

How do you win and lose?

Yes this happens to most. And when you start losing, you keep on increasing your stake till you have nothing left.
Except for some exception it's not about how the casino works but about how people perceive about their bet.
This is similar to how your testing martingale works till you bet with a small amount and busts when you are actually in play.
we don't consider the small losses when are ultimate result is a profit. we become more and more confident on placing larger and larger bets till its under our bankroll. And we busts when it goes over. I've personally experienced such loss.
