301  Economy / Economics / Re: As Altcoin Popularity Grows So Does Crime; Is Regulation Keeping Up? on: April 05, 2018, 01:22:08 PM
Do you think there has to be a regulation of some sort?
Whether we like it or not there will always be regulations and regulators. One great example for this is the KYC and SEC regulating exchanges. I also think that there will always be a bypass to the regulations, but I think there still has to be one in order to at least limit the bad deeds and shady acts where crypto are being used as a tool or a medium for it to succeed easily. I also think regulations will help make crypto market healthier.
302  Other / Meta / Re: I can not use function "Forgot Password". It says not approved! WTF??? on: April 05, 2018, 12:12:46 PM
Well... if it has not been used... why it says it is allready taken if I try to use it for a new account?
But when I use "Forgot Password" option it says Email not approved?

This is a Bug or what? This does not make sense. Is crypto like this? Like XVG leaving old known bugs to exploit?

I never experienced that on other Forums.

Yes I have 1-2 other addresses but it is strictly split.

It might help if you drop here the link of the profile of your old account or mention it's name so others can have a more clear understanding as to why it happens. May I ask if this account is a really old one that has been inactive since 2025 or not? Because if it is, it might have had been compromised when bitcointalk database leak happened, resulting to temporary lock.
303  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can check earning through bitcoin forum? on: April 05, 2018, 10:09:12 AM
How can check earning through bitcoin forum?
If you are talking about checking balance on btc, you can follow SFR10's post to serve as your guide. If it is an alternative, check it on the block explorer of the certain altcoin you are talking about. I would suggest etherscan.io if it is eth. For other block explorer of other alts, kindly get used to using google or the search function here in this forum to know about it.
304  Other / Meta / Re: [PROPOSAL] Disable Merit on Local Boards. on: April 04, 2018, 12:58:09 PM
My Suggestion is to limit the section/board that everyone can send merit, especially disable sending merits on local boards because in my experience on hunting those merit abusers I see a lot of abuse on local boards that I dont understand and got lazy sometimes to translate the each pages to make a report.
That would not be possible since it is exactly the same in saying that there are no quality posts in local boards or any other boards that will be affected by the changes you are suggesting.
Another "merit thread" but please give it a time to read.
FUN FACT: I think it will be also good if we ban sending/receiving merits on meta to see who are the people really wants to help and people who just post here to earn some merits.  Smiley
That would also be good but I don't think that suggestion would be accepted, everyone is free to give merits to any post they wanted to merit, may it be posted on meta or not.
305  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin banned in social media? on: April 04, 2018, 11:38:55 AM
as you can see theres still ads regarding crypto in facebook so that might answer your question..
There has been news about facebook banning crypto ads, as well as google and twitter according to some sources. Nevertheless, it being seen on facebook advertisements as of the moment does not mean that it is not banned, it is just that maybe the banning of crypto ads is still not due today. Other's might be right though since there are no official statements yet from facebook but in twitter's case, the sources that says it will also ban ads related to crypto is credible.
306  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Requirment for trading on: April 04, 2018, 09:05:14 AM
I don't think the technical analysis will help you much with crypto. Most of the time, the news are the ones going to dictate where the market is going. If you rely your trading on technical analysis, you'd encounter the term paralysis by analysis soon and will result you to just hold your token instead which can be the better thing to to.
News really are not the ones who dictate where the market is going, it is the public sentiment over a news. Therefore, one only needs to pick a coin to invest into, determine if it is good and bad(based on concept, team, whitepaper, activeness of community), set a target price to sell into(preferably a realistic one), and hold until it reach the selling point. This works most of the time but in order to minimize loss on coins that one doesn't trust, set a cut loss sell point but it should be low, not near the buying price.
307  Economy / Speculation / Re: 10.000 bitcoins moved from gox wallet ready to short BTC on: April 03, 2018, 01:15:37 PM
Hmm interesting Need to confirm this because when i read the news it was said that mt gox will not be liquidating any btc untill july month.
Btc is just starting to get some momentum if this is true then its not good for the market.
Even if that is the case, it would be good for the market in the long run since that big amount of bitcoins would be diversified, and will be released from the hold of a single entity making market healthier. I wonder though if they will really use it to short BTC because if they will I guess we are going back to 4000 USD, maybe lower depending on what is the market's reaction. The biggest question right now though is if history will repeat itself or not anymore? And will it be caused by mt. Gox again?
308  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will bitcoin mining run out? on: April 03, 2018, 12:21:23 PM
ok, so the other cryptocurrency is probably the best path if bitcoin runs out, is not that so sir ??
At least in our perspective now the best path for a miner when that time comes is to move on into other major altcoins but it will take a long time from now before that happens. With that being said, mining bitcoin might still be profitable by that time, making bitcoin mining not ran out but instead they might continue their operations ordinarily. The only difference is that they will greatly rely on user's fees.
309  Economy / Economics / Re: Can bitcoin help poor children in underdeveloped countries? on: April 03, 2018, 11:30:31 AM
Illiteracy is the cause of poverty. We know a cup of coffee (Starbucks) = 20 notebooks, or a school bag, or two pairs of slippers for poor children in Vietnam.
Bitcoin cannot really help people to improve their economic status specially when they don't have a device of their own to use. No currency can help someone to get out of poverty and it is the same to bitcoin as well and other cryptos. Instead, it would just help rich people and elites get richer since cryptocurrency is the gate of internet business capitalism since it eases accepting payments online.
310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee charges $105,000 per promotional crypto-tweet on: April 03, 2018, 10:52:19 AM
eah it's not at all surprising coming from McAfee, he's always been about profit first and foremost and then everything else.

Though I do wonder if people would actually buy his tweets to promote. Or if people would click the promoted tweets after that.
Probably some people would buy his tweets to promote, but most won't after all who will want to pay $105,000 if they can promote crypto using cheaper ways that are more effective than McAfee's tweets? That sum he is asking for can fund advertisements in many sites related to crypto, and it can also fund advertisement on social media and on the whole world wide web at the same time.
311  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Moderators on: April 03, 2018, 06:40:20 AM
All merits abusers are not being reported because there are only some users that makes thread where to report those who abuse. In this case I suggest to have a Merit Moderator who will priorities or who will moderate about merits.

Many users are being reported but they do not receive any punishments. I was wondering it because merit moderator will only priorities merit.

Indeed I also need your suggest?
It is a nice suggestion but don't you think they will be punished soon enough for their actions? Default trust members are going around giving red trust to merit abusers and I think it is enough punishment for now. Nevertheless,. I think merit abusers deserve a permaban if ever they are caught abusing the merit system.  That way we also won't need merit moderators.
312  Economy / Speculation / Re: $7,700 will be the next hurdle on the upside on: April 02, 2018, 10:02:05 PM
I hope this month will really bring new positive things so that all this bearish sentiments can be replaced. Last time we peaked at $11600, we though that the bulls has taken the market already. but we are all wrong. But we still in search of all the bulls and the herds, I'm sure that they are around, just waiting for the perfect time to make this bull run once again so that we see the price go and try to test the 5 figures once again.
To describe the situation of the market right now, bulls and bears are battling with each other and thus is the reason why bitcoin goes up and down in the past few weeks. I wonder though who will win the final battle? The bulls or the bears? What im sure of right now is that whoever runs out of money or supply to dump between the two is the team that will lose. For now let's hope the bulls win.
313  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: A Poll on Blockchain.info on What You Use it For. First 20 Voters Earn 5 Merits! on: April 02, 2018, 01:11:09 PM
Hey guys, it's really important that you answer the poll honestly.  Reply 'voted' and I'll send you a merit for your participation.  Thanks for your help...  I really appreciate it.  Smiley

The poll will last a couple of days or so.
I have voted and have chosen store bitcoins/ether since I often use blockchain.info wallet to hold some bitcoins that I opt to sell when pumps(huge ones) suddenly occur. I don't use it when I am considering to do a day trade as it's fees are rather high when compared to me sending bitcoin directly from my main wallet to exchanges. I might consider using it for day trade though if it adds fiat exchange feature like how coinbase functions.
314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What cryptocurrency should I buy for USD 1000? on: April 02, 2018, 12:31:48 PM
Dear friends,
There are so many coins available on the market. I want to invest 1000 USD on cryptocurrency. What do you think I should buy? Thank you!
Buy top 100 coins in the coinmarketcap today that is on sale(not in a gain). To know if a certain altcoin is lower than it's usual average price or not, refer to the graphs to see the ups and downs of it in the past months. You can also invest those 1000 USD dollars on ICO's as they are very profitable, but very risky as well. Only buy coins from ICO's if you are prepared to take huge risks in order to gain profit.
315  Other / Meta / Re: Copper member - avatar on: April 02, 2018, 11:59:18 AM
Yeah, my fail, but if this Is not possible, the Copper member Is pretty useless, right?
Copper member was originally made for newbies who wanted to post images quick without getting their accounts ranked up to jr member, not for us users who are above jr member rank. It ain't useless for newbies but in your case think of it as an honor, since you are not a free user here anymore and have donated something in this forum. There also aren't a more expensive rank with better features (unless you want custom title and access to exclusive forum section, which is for donator).
316  Economy / Economics / Re: Does the bank glad to support cryptocurrency trade? on: April 02, 2018, 11:19:47 AM
Yes, 1.They cannot control the cryptocurrency.
They indeed cannot control the decentralized cryptocurrencies we have today, but they can make their own centralized crypto, enabling support for cryptocurrency trades.
2.The cryptocurrency is safer, cheaper, and more private, and once the average person on the street becomes aware of this, it is even less likely to stop the rise of cryptocurrency.
It is also likely that some countries would not make a move to stop the rise of cryptocurrency, but instead they or some institution that is under government's control to make their own one and harness it's power to benefit from the tech it has(blockchain).
317  Economy / Speculation / Re: April fools day fact: The market keep bleeding hard on: April 01, 2018, 01:59:16 PM
Where does the money go?
Probably the money goes back into fiat(or to stocks and commodities but it is less likely). There is also a probability of it going into whales' pocket.
When will it be back?
Maybe tomorrow? Maybe next week? No one really knows. If one have some coins left in stash, the best thing to do right now is to HODL. BTC
Probably to have a "moon" days the market need to bleed more. Everyone be cool!  Cool
Everything needs to go back to where it is from for it to improve and in crypto's case, it needs massive corrections in order to be healthier next time.
318  Other / Archival / Re: Don't let the negativity get you down. on: April 01, 2018, 12:53:42 PM
Bitcoin price is very sensitive to the bad news and also it is decided by pure public sentiment. So whenever we see serious bad news like a country banning crypto currency operations or criminalizing it, market reacts badly. On the other hand, the market should react well for any good news. My concern is, now the market is not reacting to the good news. Otherwise, we have two great news with us like, Germany legalizing it and G20 summit showed positive thoughts about it. But the market didn't react well instead the price keeps going down for no apparent reason.
Good news will not always get a positive reaction, and vice versa. One great proof for it is some of OP's examples in his post since market sentiments reacted the opposite way. Also, the public should have had reacted badly in media always trying to bring btc down when it was still in it's early days. Nevertheless, bitcoin shown it's resilience and it's supporters have shown positive reaction it despite the bad news that time.
319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Technology of tomorrow, with the speed of a turtle? on: April 01, 2018, 10:59:53 AM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfQZLJbXZ80

This video explains how our technology is implemented, and provides a broader outlook about COTI.
So you talked bad about bitcoin and ethereum just to advertise your own coin? I think this is not a good way to advertise whatever project you had. If we are talking about the slow transaction speed of bitcoin, it can be further improved through forks that it will experience in the future. The technology of the future though, IMO is not just referring to bitcoin and ethereum. It also refers to good cryptos that exist now and will exist in the future.
320  Other / Meta / Re: Activity, Merit, Politeness, fMerit, Imagination, Virtue, Coins, Karma, Posts !! on: April 01, 2018, 09:43:03 AM
I'M SO CONFUSED WHETHER THIS IS A JOKE OR NOT
You will surely get enlightened tomorrow or some day within this week like what CntryBoy said. If this system is still here after a while, we will know that theymos is serious about it. I admit that I got freaked out when I have first logged in today and am surprised to see a lot of numbers on everybody's stats but thinking about what day it is today, it probably must be an april fools joke only.
