There has to be some kind of demand for the altcoins. Maybe if the bitcoin price hits the sky, people can no longer afford it, and altcoins will slowly have higher demand. But I can't determine which one? Is it market capitalization that determines it?

Probably XMR given its Darknet market adaptation Im thinking the same altcoin too which is XMR(Monero) since its usage and existence have been improved and now commonly used on darknet on illegal transaction which is really a good sign that this coin would have the potential to be next into bitcoin but its just my opinion though. 2013 = Peak in adoption / popularity + market prices.
2014 = scene gets shittier and crap coins slump in price.
2015 = Idiots go on ICO / IPO rampage

2017 = Same old same old.. trying to clone coin your way out of trouble. I knew that Waves was the most promising technology after Ethereum, so that's why I invested on Day One. I'm happy that I was right (again)  ! I wouldn't be holding bags of waves if I didn't see its potential on becoming a top 10 crypto for nothing. Have they released the full nodes already? If not then they are still unprofessional.
