301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Arctic Coin (ARC), No premine, Evolution over 1 year on: October 08, 2017, 12:46:43 PM
Mobile wallets for ARC is almost done! On the testing now

Finally a very good news... Good luck.

I have 'downgraded' to the previous version and everything is working fine. (the previous version has a higher version number). I am not sure what this 'upgrade' is good for.
303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Arctic Coin (ARC), No premine, Evolution over 1 year on: October 06, 2017, 05:15:35 PM
wtf. i don't wanna wait 6 damn days for payout. fix dat shit before your roadmap bruh. make this shit tight. arctic could be cold af, like COLD as F

Maybe try it before criticizing? ARC is the most stable out of the masternode coins I am running. The payout is not frequent per masternode, but when you have it, it is more than other coins' reward. The best solution is to have more, have 5 nodes and you will have daily reward if that what you prefer.

szfinx u know lot aoub this coin it seems so .. well i hawe a question .. where can u see developers updates or anything like that , coin seems to be stalling for a bref peried of time .. i hawe masternoed runing like 3 months now .. payouts used to be more often and they ware bigger ..

You are right. The coin is not really going forward and looks like nothing is happening. The Slack channel is quiet and not much traffic here either. The developers are in the Discord channel, that is a bit more interesting than here....
But to be honest, the reason I invested in a ARC masternodes to learn how to set them up and manage a Dash fork masternodes. ARC was/is the cheapest, so I bought a few MN along with some DAS, ENT, NTRN and CHC masternodes. My experience with ARC is very good, this is the most stable, so I will keep them... The price can go only higher so nothing to lose.
The payout is a bit lower than before due to the increased number of masternodes. That is not necessary bad, more node mean more stable network, bigger chance of price growth.

304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HLM] HELIUM - PRE NOTICE on: October 06, 2017, 07:58:06 AM
Oh, BTW, will SPR still be listed at any exchange post-Oct 10th? I am sure there will be a mad rush to dump them... but only if there's an exchange to even sell Smiley

I hope so.. I already have BTC ready in Cryptopia to buy the HLM and SPR from the people who decide to dump. That will be the first exchange which list HLM and probably keep the SPR as well.
305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DET]Dragon Exchange-new cryptocurrency exchange(airdrop) on: October 06, 2017, 06:42:59 AM
This idea looks good, but could you tell us briefly why you need to issue a token for this project?
What is the method of distribution? In the title, there is 'airdrop' but no more info in the posting. Could you tell us a bit more about it?
306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HLM] HELIUM - PRE NOTICE on: October 05, 2017, 05:37:17 PM
How to partecipate to the airdrop?

The best would be to read the very first post...
307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HLM] HELIUM - PRE NOTICE on: October 05, 2017, 06:01:09 AM
Did the snapshot get support from Bittrex as of yet?

No. It has support form Cryptopia... You might want to click on the 'previous' link and read the previous page...

309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] 💵 Worlds first ICO by a public listed company! on: October 04, 2017, 04:13:18 PM
A publicly listed company could issue shares and bonds as well to fund it's plans.... Giving up future profit for instant capital is very much how the bond works. What is the reason you go to the ICO way rather than the traditional and trusted way?
310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HLM] HELIUM - PRE NOTICE on: October 04, 2017, 02:57:21 PM
Is the snapshot already through?

No, it isn't... It will happen sometimes on 10. October morning (New Zealand) or 9. October evening depending your time zone.

Congrats to the team for the progress & update, I am super stoked about Helium and Heliumpay.

For those among us running a headless Linux VPS, how would we create a masternode? Do we keep the coins on the VPS or do we keep them on a GUI wallet at home and run the demon on the VPS? If someone has a bit more information on how to run a mn, I would greatly appreciate it - also if there's a running version on testnet so I could practice.

Helium will be a Dash fork, it will work the same way as most of the Dash form coins, such as Arc, ChainCoin, Das and so on... You can find a good example on the Chaincoin website or in the ArcticCoin site as well. Basically the same looking wallet with the same options.
I am running a few DAS, a few ARC and a few ChaniCoin nodes to participle... All of the the same. The coins in my local Windows wallet and the nodes are running on the Linux VPS's with 0 balance.

I have not tried any VPS. Would https://www.vultr.com/ be a good vps to use?

Good, but expensive.

You can have a 1GB memory instance with cost $5 with them for £1.2 from ArubaColoud (Select DC1 or DC3)
Or a 2GB Ram VPS from OVH.com for £3.

If you don't mind spending the $5 a month, you are better off subscribing for a managed Helium node hosting with node-vps. They charge $5 a month and setting up and managing your masternode for you.

Is 1,000 confirmed for a master node?

Yes, it is.
314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: |ANN| DAS - Decentralized and Secure. Private Send. Masternodes. on: October 04, 2017, 09:00:35 AM
I have two nodes, they work the same. Yesterday 3 came to one, and to the second 1 DAS, how so?

The reward is random... There will be days when you receive multiple times and days when you receive nothing. In the long run, it will average out.
315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: |ANN| DAS - Decentralized and Secure. Private Send. Masternodes. on: October 03, 2017, 05:09:41 AM
New Release! Please update, wallet, daemon!!!

DAS v. 0.12.1.5 Released

The new update adds support for the old masternodes.

Also, the old source code will no longer be available.

Could you post an guide or at least a few line about how to update a Linux VPS?
Now we have some nice step by step guide about installing them, but how to update using your source?

Is anybody able to tell me how launched coins work with their pricing?

Since it is a 1:1 airdrop for SPR holders, I believe it will start in the same ball-park. After that, expect some wild swings. SPR is going to tank.

When you say the same "ball-park" how will it physically get to the same ball-park?

Right from day 1 the second it launches let's say @ $1.75 or from the moment that the market starts buying it in mass and push the price up?

He meant, he believe the price probably will start out as the same as the SPR price now (I think so too)... Then the market will decide. Nobody knows. Some people will drop the 'free' HLM to the market pushing the price down. In the same time, some people who want to buy HLM but wasn't confident with the swap will come on-board and buy after the launch, pushing the price up.... Which group is bigger, nobody knows.

I need help to install MN to VPS. While I try this manual got a lot of errors.
Manual: https://steemit.com/arc/@auspex/how-to-setup-an-arctic-coin-goldmine-node
VPS: Debian 7 x86_64
512 Mb RAM
10 Gb HDD

This commans were executed with errors:
sudo apt-get install libdb4.8-dev libdb4.8++-dev
sudo swapon /swapfile
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bitcoin/bitcoin

What can I do to fix it?

Instead of 4.8 version run this:
apt-get install libdb5.1++-dev

Not sure, that it will work properly.

The easiest would be to replace the Debian to Ubuntu 16.04 on the VPS. All the other dependencies are sorted there.
And if you have only 512 MB RAM, you would need at least 1.5GB swap, but I would suggest to have a 1GB physical instance at least.
You can have a 1GB RAM Ubuntu 16 for £1 a month from Aruba or 2GB for £3 a month from OVH. They work as I am using them to host my nodes.
318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: |ANN| DAS - Decentralized and Secure. Private Send. Masternodes. on: October 02, 2017, 12:06:42 PM
wow that is a lot of bs. I wanted to get some DAS, but it is just to much uncertainty at the moment. Pools not working properly and dev issues. Be back when things are sorted out I guess.

This is part of the gamble.... Right now, you can buy DAS cheaply due to the ongoing issues. Later, when everything is sorted and settled down, the price will be way much higher than today.. Or it might collapse as nothing will be sorted.
This is a gamble to make 10000% or lose 90%.
319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HLM] HELIUM - PRE NOTICE on: October 02, 2017, 05:55:33 AM
The Spreadcoin wallet is pretty unstable. That's why I'm not keeping my SPR on there until they say we need to. It is safer on an excahange. My wallet went on a fork the first time I DL it. The dev said delete every file and reinstall was the only option. Since I hadn't backed it up yet, I would have lost all my SPR if I had already sent it.

So try to avoid using the SPR wallet.

if bittrex agrees to help with the adding of helium based on snapshot from SPR, it would be the best solution. moving your coins around is always risky

yeah,, and i hope bittrex will cooperate for this,,
because ,, it will be easy and we no need to send our SPR to SPR wallet, i think its very complicated

I can't see, how sending SPR to the SPR wallet is complicated. You just need to check your receiving address and copy it to the Bittrex withdrawal box. Same as any other coin. Everyone in the crypto world surely need to know how to transfer coins between exchanges and wallets. Everyone has done it at least once when transferred BTC to the exchange to buy any coins.

If the community didn't insist on exchange involvement, the whole project could have started by now. The whole process would have been cheaper and quicker.
320  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bancor | Protocol for Smart-tokens, solving the liquidity problem on: October 01, 2017, 09:37:25 PM
Half of year passed, they promised, that price will not fall less than 0.01 ETH. But what we can see? Price much less, and they doing nothing?
Not always things are accurate, things should have margin for more or less, if it were above 0.01 ETH at that time, you would be happy, right? But it would be irrational, because Bancor has not yet delivered anything, be patient, buy as much as you can! Wink

How could it be irrational to expect the ICO price? That would be the bare minimum. The ICO price was based on promises and a shiny whitepaper. As we can see from the current price, after several months Bancor doesn't even wort as much as a promise and it's BS loaded paper.

People can have different opinions, but the market is always right.
