301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: December 22, 2017, 06:57:36 AM
Please stick to the original topic -- amd vega hash rates.

So, any predictions for the upcoming custom Sapphire, PowerColor and Asus cards when it comes to hash power? Sapphire announced +7% gains in frame rate over the referent RX Vega. Can we also expect a 7% increase in hash rate?

I dont think it will hash better. It will be cooler for sure but the hash looks to be memory related and since it will come with the very same memory...Will you expect different results from same memory:

PS. About the bios, update if you are having problems.

I just ordered 16 ROG Strix 64s (wanted a better cooler). I'll let you guys know once I get them up and running. I already have a 8 vega 64 rig hashing @ 16.03kh/s. I doubt there will be any difference at all but I'll let you guys know once I build it.
302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's CryptoNote AMD GPU Miner v11.0 on: December 19, 2017, 11:44:20 PM
2000 on vega hmm, just tried it on mine getting like 1100.   Would anyone share there settings that get them over 2000?  Thanks

Literally every single miner BUT claymore can hit 2000+ on vega. Just use cast XMR or XMR stak until he decides to fix it.

Hi I am just going through the vega mining guides and i am upto the enableulps section
when i go into regedit and nav to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318} and click into the folders no device description appears for my gpu's

i am running 2 vega 64 liquids and 2 RX580's

I get driverdesc Radeon RX 580 series
and 687F:C0

folder 0001 and 0003 Shows 687F:C0
Folder 0002 and 0004 shows Radeon RX 580

i have inputted OverdriveNtool and have put OverdriveNTool.exe -r1 -r4 -p1Vega64 -p4Vega64 and the fans operate as they should

i am about to do the pp MOD do i use folders 0001 and 0003

i dont want to mess things up here
I haven't the reg line about device description too for whatever reason. But this is not a problem. You may follow the guide.
Thanks. now just to get my head around the registry edits never done this before  Shocked

687F:C0 is a Vega hardware ID, you should be fine applying the tables.

My 6x Vega 56 rig on Onda D1800 finally works like a charm.
Averaging 1940 h/s per GPU so just over 11600 in total, for 1350W at the wall.

For the records, that's better than my two 7x RX570 rigs combined (11200 h/s for 1650W), without any single bios, SOC or soft power play mods.

Those bloody Vegas really are good.

I only wish CastXMR would allow you to set failovers...

Those numbers are pretty bad tbh.. You might want to modify/tweak your cards a bit more. This guy on youtube is getting 15.5kh/s using  only 1400W.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7r93A4SJts0

Really?  You are consistently doing better?  What's your at-the-wall power draw?  Or, you have no idea you are just pointing to a YouTube video.

OMG, I just watched the first part of this video.  Each Vega 64 is getting around 1921, 1928, 1931 in other words, BELOW 1940 per card.

Well considering how he's consuming around the same wattage with 2 extra cards.. Yes I would consider that pretty bad. He's getting 11 hashes per watt while OP
is getting 8.6 hashes per watt. That's a massive difference... Maybe you should invest some time into learning how to flash the cards/mod them. Well worth it in my opinion.
He even mentions he is running the memory at 1050Mhz. He has shown videos of his cards running at 2020+ before... Why are you so upset anyways lol?? Just pointing
it out so he could see potential gains in performance/efficiency.

P.S I own a few cards (4 vega 64s hashing 8.04Kh/s @ 715W) that I registry moded and I can asure you it's a night and day difference. The cards draw much less power and remain cool far better.

I'm interested in the cards, PM sent.

Anyone know if Cast XMR works with AEON, I'm assuming no. I'd be cool seeing how much my seven card 14.2Kh/s vega rig hashes on cryptonote-light. Wanna see if it's exacly double what ETN and XMR gives me.
Why not use XMR-STAK then? You can try the newest 2.0. Cast uses same kernel as XMR-STAK I think, shouldn't be hard to port it anyway.

I would but XMR-STAK crashes my vega rig (only when I have more than 6 cards installed) for some odd reason. It starts to run normally but slowly starts to artifact until it BSOD and system crashes, but on the same sytem Cast XMR works fine. I'm sure there's some explanation as to why but I don't really wanna spend the time trying to figure it out since Cast seems to be working fine.

Secure Node Tracking system migration process from testnet to mainnet is starting now

Excellent to see the development is moving along great! Looking forward to running a few secure nodes!   Grin

Is there any other way to get the x64 version?
Try this. Note that "amd64" is just regular x64.

Yea I ended up downloading it from that site and works great. I finally managed to get 6 vega 64s hashing around 1950 each @ 1120W out the wall. I did notice however that one of my cards (GPU5) keeps fluctuating from 1500-1900 while the rest stay fairly steady around 1900s. Has anyone else experience this? I noticed the same thing when I had only 4 cards running.
311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: November 27, 2017, 10:40:10 PM

keeps removing my link, so just google "how to obtain devcon.exe" and click the first one, i used it 4 days ago...

Using that link keeps downloading the x86 devcon version instead of the x64. Is there any other way to get the x64 version?

And yes, I am running a 64 bit machine, I knew you were gonna ask lol!

Anyone got any solid numbers for vega frontier? I'm considering buying one to try it out but would rather have some solid numbers before pulling the trigger.

Well its not worth it for sure, if you would buy it just for mining. You get 2-3 vega 56s for a price of 1 FE?

And it wont even mine any better than vega 56.

Well I can get a hold of a vega frontier for 699 USD. Seeing how the 56 and 64s are both selling for 600+ it was something to consider since the frontier card will likely retain it's value better aswell. I figured there wouldn't be much of a difference but does anyone have an actual screenshot or video link for proof. I tried reading a few pages of this thread but can't seem to find any concrete stats.

Anyone else getting issues geting XMR Stak working with vega 64? Can't get it to work for the life of me. Working fine with claymore and sgminer but stak gives me a OpenCL error.

You were trying to sell em for 3k at first wow, this isn't 2011 anymore. People have been mining for years, not even noobs would fall for a ripoff like that. Try 1.4k and people might start wanting to negotiate. You can put a brand new rig with 6 gtx 1060 for around 1.6k, you won't sell used mining hardware for that price.

it was a plan to build some secure nodes. is that still in testing or is fully operational?

I believe it's still currently in testing. I'd rather them take as long as they need ensuring things are working properly Grin. This is one of the coins I am most exited for in the near future!
317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold (BTG) on: November 15, 2017, 05:52:24 PM
Crypto-Coin calculator added BTG.

https://www.crypto-coinz.net/crypto-calculator/

You need to change the Yobit exchange for BTG, make it HitBTC. It's giving false profit calculations. You can't deposit in yobit causing the price to be higher than average. You're screwing people over using a small exchange like that for calculations.
318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BTCZ] BitcoinZ - No-premine, No-ICO, No-Dev Tax - 100% Community on: November 15, 2017, 05:49:18 PM
People need to stop making fork after fork after damn fork. BTCZ brings nothing new to the table. Yea okay it has no premine, dev fee, and it's community driven (OOOOHHH watch out world) yada yada yada. It uses the same equihash algorithm that was realeased over a year ago and simply has a coin multiplier of 1000X compared to ZCL (and look where that project ended LOL). This coin is destined for failure. You can't simply copy something with slight modification, make it "community driven" and BOOM success. Not how things work. Altcoins have been dying in a scary pace with Bitcoin crushing the marketcap. Careful where you invest guys.
319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold (BTG) on: November 14, 2017, 09:37:01 PM
The price will likely not rise anytime soon. It'll likely loose 500%+ at launch like most coins do. I predict it'll bottom out at 50 dollars before it starts stabilizing/making small growth. This is a fork nobody wanted and is simply riding on bitcoins name. There is no integration support (other than a few like trezor) due to the constant bitcoin forking putting strain on the crypto market. Sure they want decetralization but there are plenty of other forks who do this already. Anywho I won't bother mining a coin that will depreciate until I see it bottoming out.
320  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZEN] ZenCash: Private, Secure, Resilient CryptoCurrency with zk-SNARKs on: November 11, 2017, 06:53:09 PM
why did the price spike over last 4 hours am i missing something?

PalmBeach suggested 2 cryptos - ripple and second (hidden name yet) - it was about zencash.

Could someone quickly tell what that PalmBeach stuff is about and why it matters so much for Zencash? I missed the information.

They called another coin early on which mooned, so they have the ear of people. Surprised it took that for people to take notice of ZEN.

What does that mean? Like did they call some coin to be their own creation or what? I don't understand what you are saying.

They essentially recommend a coin (monthly) to invest into that they predict will be successfull in the future. That brought a lot of attention from people who weren't aware of Zencash.

Zencash doesn't need any people to make weird predictions. It's rock solid on its own. And a lot of people already realized the great tech of Zencash or otherwise it wouldn't be a $50 million coin.

I agree completely, believe me I've been mining Zen almost since launched and have accumulated a good amount. I have always liked this project and will continue to support it. I was just explaining to the other guy what it was since he was asking.
