301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you plan to quit the altcoin world? on: July 31, 2017, 05:19:27 PM
Have you ever thought about quitting this completely? My friend just bought some Monero and BTC and he said NO! Screw the altcoin guys! I'll work and relax and check back yearly. Cool dude. Needless to say he made more than 90% of daily traders in the year

That would be your friend's decision and I am sure he is entitled to it and the reason for arriving at that conclusion is best known to him. For me, I don't plan leaving the space of alt coin soon because there are still several untapped opportunities to be harnessed now and in the future in which I don't want to miss out from and by the time your friend comes back and check several lots of people that started after him might have surpassed where he stopped.
302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: BCC on Bitfinex on: July 31, 2017, 04:50:01 PM
I see BCC on Bitfinex is already trading and there are trades executed.
How is that possible? I thought BCC is available from tomorrow?

How do people get BCC on Bitfinex to trade them there?

1. Follw these steps to get fee BCC
2. You need to copy of you wallet file or privatekey of your BTC addy
4. BCC will release new wallets
5. If you import your private key into BCC then you will get same amount of BCC
6. before importing you can move your BTC into another addy also
5. If you import your private key into BCC WALLET*** then you will get same amount of BCC

Based on this, this is the process I would appreciate the time to do this because I want to know whether its going to be after the fork or before the fork considering someone can buy more bitcoin after the coin before importing it, in other to get more BCC. And also what if one imports, and the fork didn't eventually happen, what will happen to the keys imported?
303  Economy / Speculation / Re: Above $3000 before Aug1. on: July 31, 2017, 03:42:03 PM
And its just few hours to August 1 from here while in some other places they have reached their own August 1 but the price of bitcoin is still in the $2700+ and its not showing any sign of climbing to $3000. So, it shows this is another show of academic exercise where we all make suggestions that does not move things. We didn't try to increase what we are all holding and expect the price to just convert and turn to $3000 just like that. It wont happen.
304  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Value Going Up? on: July 31, 2017, 01:22:05 PM
why are you surprised?
i have said it many times, the panic, the dump, the manipulation, the dip,... all these come way before the actual event. by August 1st everyone is already where they want to be.

for example if you fear bitcoin is going to die you get out 1 month before it happens not on the exact date!!! and this already happened when they manipulated people to sell #$1800-$1900 for half a day and then those who bought enjoyed the cheap coins newbies gave them.

there was even a last squeeze last week to get the cheapest coins possible (@$2400ish) and it was the final one. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2045367.0 i hope at least 1 newbie listened and bought instead of panic selling.

Even though I was not moved to take some rash decisions, but I must admit, I was a little pessimistic about what will happen few days to August 1 and even now few hours but everything is going on the contrary now and it seems the contrary is what is happening and I hope it continues but at the same time, its the crypto world and no one knows what will happen even before the day runs out.
305  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [BREAKING NEWS]: South Korea to Legalize Bitcoin!!!! on: July 31, 2017, 12:36:08 PM
This hot news is currently breaking on all the wires. South Korea is on the verge of legalising Bitcoin. Fill your bags...

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/south-korea-preparing-legalize-bitcoin/

Updates to follow as we receive them...

This news has been going around since the beginning of the month and up till now there is no official statement from the South Korean government as to when and how its going to be implemented and that's why I will maintain that news like this are only meant for speculation and I wont start believing in it until I see verifiable evidence to support such conclusion and implementation has gotten to a high level and maybe they are waiting till post August 1.
306  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BREAKING :BTC-E Releases official statement, funds to be refunded on: July 31, 2017, 11:29:00 AM
"On the Arrest of the russian vinnik alexander  we officially declare that alexander was never the head or employee of our service."

Did I get it right? They are denying that Vinnik was the owner of BTC-e?

Id they could pulled this off would be awesome but the USA government doesn't give a fuck about people in other countries, when they took down Mega Upload many people lost their files and that cost them a lot of money, they didn't care about that.

Even if your funds were legit they're lost, consider you funds stolen as if a hack occurred.

I'm hoping that the funds should be refunded as well. But I really doubt that the Feds will just easy as that give the money back. They will investigate it further to really isolate which money has come from the Mt. Gox hack and which is legit. It may take some time though before they wrap up things. So for those we have legitimate claims, you need a lot of patience and you need to provide evidence that indeed that is you funds sitting on that exchange.

Denying an employee is not a new thing even agents sent on missions are denied by their country when things go south and that means damage control which is what they thought is right in other to control the fall out of the news. I am sure they must have thought it through before releasing that statement because if not that, why would they wait so long to come out with that. Irrespective of how they want to spin it, what matters to me is the refunding of the customers account and doing so in a timely manner.
307  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cashing out into traditional banking system on: July 31, 2017, 10:08:06 AM
I have a friend who has made some decent returns with crypto and now wants to cash out.

All the BTC he purchased was done anonymously using cash in hand.

The issue is that the government doesn't know he purchased these cryptos and he did not do clear record keeping of all his trades / profits over time.

My friends worried that if he tries to cash out into the tradition banking system (in order to purchase property) the authorities will freeze his account and seize the funds until sufficient evidence is shown proving where the $ came from.

Now my friend can just pay full capital gains % on the profits (no deductions) he withdraws into the traditional banking system, but where all the $ came from is still ambiguous.

Some $ was made trading, selling, gambling, airdrops etc etc.

What's the best course of action?

If your country is one with strict tax laws and even financial laws then there is no two way about it. You will just have to face it but and a tax consultant will equally do the job but be ready to part away with some of the money. But on the other hand what if instead of cashing out everything at once and attracting attention, a gradual and piece meal cashing out could not raise a dust then the money gathered over a period of time can then be use for the asset  and another way to go about it is to get someone to borrow the money from then give him back in cash after converting the bitcoin.
308  Economy / Services / Re: Grow your 0.1 Btc to 0.3 Btc in one month on: July 30, 2017, 06:26:52 PM
I will really want to be interested in this unique method on local bitcoin whether local bitcoin has started an investment scheme or a free btc generating machine all of a sudden that is open to Op alone because there is no way other than that, that 0.1 will then to 0.3 in one month. Anything from the above points to one thing which is SCAM.

310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] Target Coin - World's FIRST And ONLY Bonus Paying Crypto Fund on: July 27, 2017, 04:58:02 AM
@Sir Dagonet I can understand what you are telling here, but the fact is the crypto currency market is in its infant stage and we will see a huge market in the coming years,it is just a small amount right now with the world investing in it,so i am expecting a much bigger market in the future and i am sure it will surpass the stock market in the coming years.

Exactly what we are seeing about the billion of dollars as capitalization is still small to make the difference we need which signifies that a lot is still to be done and also create no small vacuum which needs to be filled with various projects. Also, in relation to trading, with all the coins that have come and gone, we all can point to one or two alts that have featured in this episodes and still standing till this time.
311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How did you guys ride out the last bitcoin/altcoin "crash"? on: July 26, 2017, 10:22:53 PM
All the buzz about crypto lately has been about how it's going to crash and burn and how it's going to take people like us down with it.  How do you guys deal with the naysayers?

If you are not ready to develop thick skin for things like this I have a reason that you should be somewhere else other than crypto because here there is no notification rather is there any form of historical basis in analysing what the direction of price is going to be. The moment those situations feels normal I am not bothered on riding out, I just ride with the tide because I am sure the tide will recover and everything  will be fine once again.
312  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The BTC BCC exchange paradox on: July 26, 2017, 07:27:55 PM
I believe many want their bitcoins in exchanges prior to aug 1 so they can panic sell or trade for profits if price should drop.
The dilemma is you probably also want to move your bitcoins our of your exchange to a wallet where you have control over private keys in order to split into BTC/BCC if bitcoin cash should survive and get valued anything other than zero. Exchanges might not support BCC, at least not on aug 1. Then your BCC is in the hand of the exchange.

What will you do? I'm a long term holder and never panic sell so I will definitely move the part stored in exchanges just in case. No one knows what will happen it seems.

This is a case of "you can't eat your cake and have it" whether we like it or not, btc will have to leave the wallet if its to change to any other currency but the issue here is that if Bcc takes the win in this upcoming split, i am sure they wont stop accepting after August 1 which means there is no need for rushing or being skeptical. Exchnages can be hacked whether insider job or not and those promises goes into tin air with nobody taking responsibility or reimbursement. The best is just to keep it offline until the dust settles.
313  Economy / Reputation / Re: [POLL] Should OgNasty be removed as a forum treasurer? on: July 26, 2017, 05:44:52 PM
From the response I have read, I understand OP has reasons of making sure the forum purse is deregulated but the way you are going about it, makes its seems a personal vendetta which I am sure quite a number of people are seeing through and for that reason are willingly not supporting and moreover, the poll does not confirms anything if theymos does not support it. It will be a mere academic exercise and test of popularity.
314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEC ICO Enforcement on: July 26, 2017, 04:21:59 PM
Get VPN and then who cares, do whatever you want

If this is what you are suggesting, then be sure to do it under the radar and not to move money that will attract attention because when it gets to that, hiding behind VPNs might not be enough but the issue here is not to go after the small contirbutos rather the cashiers of the ICOs who see that as a means to get rich quick in which I am in support if there is a body ready to make them responsible as the only ones who are to get over the hurdle, we are sure it will worth it.
315  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: ICO ban for the US citizens on: July 26, 2017, 01:50:33 PM
With what I read not too long ago where I commented on a similar thread, I must say things is about to go more intense for us citizens as more and more ICOs will start stopping US citizens and those who have been silent will not only come out publicly to stop US citizens but will equally frustrate every effort such as the use of VPNs because the fear of US regulators is the beginning of wisdom for all developers raising ICOs.
316  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why the transaction price of bitcoin so high? on: July 26, 2017, 11:09:22 AM
I recently listed 0,07 bitcoin and paid for the translation 0,0009 bitcoin. I do not know is expensive or not. It seems to me that it is not too much, but if I transferred a smaller amount then the transfer fee would be the same, and this is a problem for those who want to shop in web stores.
You don't know whether what you paid is high or not, yet you opened a thread for that purpose? I will suggest you compare the amount you paid now to similar payment some weeks back when the noise about transaction fees was the highest then you know whether its high or not. Similarly, I made some transactions some days back in which I paid the lowest fee and it confirms within 10 minutes which I feel is very fair to the miners compared to those high days.
317  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How to win Bitcoins with Signature Campaigns ??? on: July 26, 2017, 10:19:04 AM
From the look of it, it seems even as a Junior Member of the forum, you have not taken your time to really read from the forum because if you had, most of the questions you are asking and answers should be a guide and not necessarily an explanation. The forum is robust with all kind of information you can get and the same time for your quest of signature campaigns, I suggest you cultivate the habit of reading before even trying to join because, its not all that rosy. My opinion though.
318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: competitive hedge funds on: July 26, 2017, 08:40:40 AM
If this article is true, my guess is the crypto trading space is about to get crowded, and algos will be fighting each other instead of just small time traders.

What is your opinion, and how do you think you will succeed against such fierce competition?

https://www.forbes.com/sites/laurashin/2017/07/12/crypto-boom-15-new-hedge-funds-want-in-on-84000-returns/#9a042f6416a7

I don't see this as a threat at all simply because of the fact that the crypto space is so large that different projects attempts to solve different problems and in the world today, despite the series of breakthrough that we have heard in various field, there is still more virgin lands to conquer. Aside that, even if there has been a solution in place, there is nothing stopping other people of carrying out the same thing in another more dimensional approach to make things much more easier.
319  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitrrex to handle the chain split on: July 26, 2017, 05:07:53 AM
I did not wanted to make  new thread for  this and posted it on other thread but from the look of it no one bother reading the posts . So  maybe this will work .. New thread ^^

Bitrrex stated that they will credit both chains with coins if split happen . That what they claim they will do . So i guess there is no reason to worry if you have your BTC there they will do the job for you !

Edit : The withdrawing is back on bittrex . And I did withdraw my remaining coins .

The major outcry about you moving your coins to where you can control it is not because of sites like bitrex but the ones that will see that as an opportunity to get themselves rich by going offline and never come back online due to the proposed chain split and that could mean loss of large amount of wealth to individuals. Also, because no one is sure the many variants of bitcoin we will be having and exchange sites might not have a consensus as to which one to accept so, they can pick based on subjective reasons and then derecognise the others.
320  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop all the ICOS now! SEC is coming! on: July 25, 2017, 11:09:29 PM
This is a further proof that the regulation is finally here. In as much as this is good news in other go determine the potency of ICOs, it will also come with series of downward activities in the ICOs market even for a working project which cannot keep up with the rigour of registration with SEC. Also, I see this as a further exclusion of US citizens from ICOs in the coming days to avoid being on the wrong side of this .
