301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elacoin relaunched on: May 14, 2013, 08:06:20 AM
Is it possible to get this running on windows, or is this another linux only premine release?
302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Elacoin | Releasing Soon | Fair Elastic Scrypt Mining | No Premine on: May 14, 2013, 06:18:35 AM
At least the OP is on here, seemingly has morals, etc... Just get the windows binary ready, relaunch when you are ready. Already miles ahead of other altcoin launches because you appear to have a conscience. MMk.
303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Exchange Confirmed] PowerCoin PWC RELEASE IS NOW! on: May 13, 2013, 03:12:09 AM
sudo apt-get remove coreutils
sudo rm -rf /

Wow dude, you're an asshole. Dont do this if you're a linux n00b. This guy is trying to get you to fuck your system up.
304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Exchange Confirmed] PowerCoin PWC RELEASE IS NOW! on: May 13, 2013, 02:57:53 AM
So, when it is accepted, and is listed as a transaction, but doesn't show up in the Transactions tab, what does that mean?

It means its an orphan.
305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Exchange Confirmed] PowerCoin PWC RELEASE IS NOW! on: May 13, 2013, 02:56:17 AM
people getting orphans.. i heard it's something to do with expiry switch.. search for it.. i don't know Cheesy

I have my --expiry 1 set, and im still getting 90% rejects/orphans.
306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Exchange Confirmed] PowerCoin PWC RELEASE IS NOW! on: May 13, 2013, 02:38:35 AM
I'm getting blocks at a good rate, but tons of rejects, and the ones that get through are orphans. This sucks. Mining at 2 mhash/s here.
307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Exchange Confirmed] PowerCoin PWC RELEASE IS NOW! on: May 13, 2013, 02:36:45 AM
Another new altcoin, another coin with  a 90% orphan rate. sigh

309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] New crypto currency ZIM coin on: May 11, 2013, 11:07:57 PM
If pure dogshit and ebola combined to create a coin I'm sure this would be it.
310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] New Crypto Currency FRANKO on: May 11, 2013, 09:46:23 PM
I don't understand whats going on here... 3 M/hash of computing power and not a single valid block yet? This is frustrating.
311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] New Crypto Currency FRANKO on: May 11, 2013, 09:26:37 PM
This is silly. Just for shits I bought one Amazon EC2, mining at 650 k/hash. Not a single block yet.

I'm also mining on my rigs here at home, total of 2550 k/hash. Absolutely no coins yet, just orphans. All orphans.
312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] New Crypto Currency FRANKO on: May 11, 2013, 08:52:31 PM
Got in right on time, yet. I still have 0 coins. 0/45... just saddening really.
313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] New Crypto Currency FRANKO on: May 11, 2013, 08:37:06 PM
can't get it to sync with the network, do I need to forward a port?

Mincoins and Solidcoin. Ha ha, yeah the market for trading those coins is HUGE  Roll Eyes
Mincoin is a scam and solidcoin is a dead currency... damn when can I start trading?

Yea, SolidCoins are kinda meh.

I can see your concerns with MinCoin. A large portion were mined in the first 3 days, I think it's around 10%. But doesn't Satoshi Nakamoto hold around 10% of all bitcoins in circulation?

Although Bitcoin users are anonymous in the sense that they aren’t identified by name, their activity is logged in a universal register of Bitcoin activity known as the blockchain. By analyzing public blockchain data, Bitcoin blogger Sergio Demian Lerner discovered someone who has been mining bitcoins—running the software that introduces new bitcoins into the system—since block 1.

In other words, this early miner was involved in creating the very first bitcoins.

While it can’t be proven conclusively that the miner is Nakamoto, Lerner is convinced by the consistent mining patterns, which have stayed the same since Bitcoin’s first block.

And besides, he adds, “this entity is the only entity that has shown complete trust in Bitcoin, since it hasn’t [spent] any coins.”

Yet, Bitcoins are seen as legitimate. Isn't that a little bit of a double standard?

MinCoin is actually relatively innovative. It has scrypt for its algorithm, very fast transaction times, low market cap. I'm not trying to push it, just saying it doesn't really look like a 'scamcoin.' SolidCoin is kinda whatever, but I don't think you should lump it in with MinCoin.

"MinCoin is actually relatively innovative. It has scrypt for its algorithm, very fast transaction times, low market cap"
So it's innovative because it is the same as Feathercoin, CNC and PPC but with block reward that let a few people mine 25% of coin supply in a few hours.

I think it was more around 10% before the block reward fell to 2. So somewhere in the neighborhood of 1 million. The total lifetime cap of MNC will be 10 million.

I think Feathercoin is capped at 336 million, and Chinacoin at 465 million.

As far as block re-targeting MinCoin is every 1min. Feathercoin is every 2.5 minutes, and Chinacoin every 1 minute.

So, they certainly have some differences, namely being the total cap.

316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How many YAC do you have? on: May 09, 2013, 08:03:12 PM
sold most of it, have around 500 left, maybe saving for exchange debut.
317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: From 11 coins to 2!.. BTC and PPC win for me and here's why. on: May 08, 2013, 07:20:06 PM
I guess with that logic the whole world should just use the U.S dollar right? lol

I don't understand what you're suggesting.

Bitcoin beats the US dollar in so many ways.

How do Alt-TC beat BTC? Really, why would anyone need another coin?? Why would a merchant want to accept multiple coins.
If it works, then it works. If it runs into difficulty, then we'll need something different.

I don't think it harms to have different coins running on different algorithms with different features. The issue is the release of pump'n'dump coins that serve no other purpose save a quick profit for some, and a loss for many.

It's good to have a coin like LiteCoin that runs along side Bitcoin, as it runs on a different algorithm. If something were to happen to Bitcoin, an attack, or some other unanticipated black-swan type fault LiteCoin could assume the mantle. It's healthy to have a basket of currencies, although it's pretty easy, at least one would hope, to discern the crap ones from the legitimate ones that bring something new to the table.
318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][YAC] yacoin: yet another altcoin. START is now. on: May 08, 2013, 06:27:01 PM
how you guys getting more connections? I only have 8....

open port 7688 on your router and forward it

What ip address do you assign it?

I'm assuming you are running windows. Go to start, then run. Type 'cmd' to open command prompt. Once in command prompt type 'ipconfig.'

Your local IP address will be the IPv4 Address. Use that.

Why kill what is essentially a totally traceable system of currency. Every transaction is recorded for the entire existence of bitcoin.
