301  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Downloading Bitcoin Core Wallet or a different Wallet? on: March 27, 2018, 10:16:34 PM
I'm concerned on a number of issues the main one is loosing money. I'm not really investing money in Bitcoin but using it as a means of payment. $500 worth. Does a different wallet really download quickly? I am five days into downloading Bitcoin Core Wallet and it isn't 50% done and it says 2 more weeks which will probably get longer the way this has been going. All this is very new to me and I'm taking a leap of faith to get this working. I still haven't made it to steps where I buy Bitcoin or spend bitcoin. This is kind of nerve racking. I definitely might not be cut out for this. Trying to conceptualize all this from start to finish when I haven't done this or seen it done, well I'm sure you know.
If that is the case then use web wallets instead. IMO they are the best ones to use for payment processing everyday. I recommend you use blockchain wallet, it is one of the most convenient web wallet out there that I trust. There are more mobile application btc wallets but like what the post above me said, I also recommend Copay. IMO they are one of the best mobile wallet made for android.
302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple co-founder FUDs Ripple on: March 25, 2018, 01:20:08 PM
I assume they'd want to use it for the convenience factor. Not a lot of banks have much crypto knowledge, so simply adopting a coin instead of making their own sounds faster and easier.
I assume no banks would ever want to use something that is not CENTRALIZED AND CONTROLLED BY THEM meaning that they will not use something that is controlled by another entity(most of them). They would prefer security over convenience thus they will create a coin of their own(centralized and fully controlled by them) for more security. Even if tehy don't have that much knowledge in crypto, they can just hire an expert.
303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple new partnership on: March 24, 2018, 10:57:42 PM
Banking group Santander will be partnering with Ripple to release an international money transfer app using Ripple’s Blockchain xCurrent and RippleNet platforms, Business Insider reports today, March 24

 "source : https://cointelegraph.com/news/santander-well-launch-intl-payment-app-with-ripple-this-spring-if-no-one-beats-us-to-it"

In your opinion is this good for ripple ??
I think it is good for ripple and the whole cryptocurrency environment as well in a sense that it will greatly improve the adoption rate of blockchain and crypto as a whole. In ripple, it will add more use cases and IMO it is starting to look like a promising coin despite it being a centralized one. At least for now, let's watch what will happen to ripple's price but I think it will go up.
304  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin in a triangle - Watch it closely on: March 23, 2018, 11:06:18 PM
Indeed you can create a lot of triangle indeed Smiley But you have to find the lines that pass through several top/bottom to have an effeicient triangle.
I used this triangle since february on tradingview and it was perfect to predict the top of march 05 and the dip of 18 march.
But Technical Analysis is not always perfect ;p It's just a part of the trading process with fondamental analysis and market sentiment.

Using this is triangle for technical analysis indeed was good. What makes market unpredictable besides what was said in the OP is the unpredictability of bitcoin market itself. I somehow predicted that bitcoin will rise some time after block halving but I have never predicted it to go up to 15,000$+ and this time, I am speculating that we will see unpredictable prices in the next coming months. Such as an unbelievable dump or pump.
305  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will never reach $100,000 again on: March 22, 2018, 09:32:47 PM
Use your brain my dude. OP is just reserving this thread title for when we get past $100,000, reach $400,000 and then crash to $90,000, then people will say we will never reach $100,000 again.

We will eventually need a "we will never reach $1,000,000 again" once we get past the $1million mark, and so on.

I can't wait to see this thread when it happens, which I predict will happen within a 5 year period.
That's a rather harsh way to answer him LOL. I predict that we will need this thread 6 years from now after it dumped from $100,000 to $85,000. I wonder though when will we need the "we will never reach $1,000,000 again" thread? Probably it would take at least a decade for us to need that kind of thread, as I don't see crypto reaching $1,000,000 in the next 9 years. I might be wrong though.
306  Economy / Speculation / Re: And now? on: March 20, 2018, 08:54:52 PM
I would say that the G20 statement is positive.
https://www.marketwatch.com/story/bitcoin-holds-steady-as-one-analyst-calls-the-end-to-alt-coin-bear-market-2018-03-20
We acknowledge that technological innovation, including that underlying crypto-assets, has the potential to improve the efficiency and inclusiveness of the financial system and the economy more broadly,
There is some language about risks posed by cryptocurrencies, but that is to be expected.
That explains why price haven't dumped after it has been released. I hope to see more positive news in crypto soon because if there are more that will come up, it will signal the end of the crypto bear market we are seeing right now. I think G20 itself for now is generating a lot of demand(from it's positive statement).
It's really unpredictable. We might see a bigger dip in coming days. But I personally think that the correction is over. Because the price is rising slowly.
Whenever the price rise very fast, it falls again. But this is time it is rising slowly.
It rising slowly improves it's health rather than a fast bullish trend. For now, I think we are in the stabilization pace.
307  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is the best price for selling Bitcoin in April 2018? on: March 19, 2018, 09:51:41 PM
Hello guys,
What is the best price for selling Bitcoin in April 2018?
Other's suggestions are nice exit points but you can sell it now if you want too, IMO price is high enough if you have bought what you ought to sell at a very low price way back when it was still sitting in sub 1000$. If that is the case, you have gained massive profits from it and any price right now will do. If not and you bought it near the current price or near the ATH, then I suggest you just hold that for now.
308  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin miners are now losing money on: March 18, 2018, 02:00:40 PM
There will always be someone that will mine bitcoin, just continue to read the article before judging it. It only said that it would not be profitable for countries that have cost of electricity above 6 cents per kilowatt hour but in some countries like China it is still profitable. If many miners stop though, difficulty will adjust so there is nothing to worry about. They will come back soon though(most of them) after it is profitable again.
309  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC break below the former low at $6,000 on: March 17, 2018, 04:08:26 AM
Hopefully it does not man. If it does - all hell will break loose. Goddamn. Whats bad is that it might actually do it and go below 6000 dollars tho.
I don't think all hell will break lose if that does happen. Instead, everyone would get their fiat ready(specially whales) to buy up bitcoin for sale since it is a very good opportunity to hoard more bitcoin. Too bad the trustee stopped selling btc for now but I still think it can break the 6000$ former low in the near future, I think all that is happening now is not over yet and we are still not seeing the recovery phase.
310  Economy / Economics / Re: if bitcoin cant scale how does it reach 1 million in 2020? on: March 16, 2018, 11:57:23 PM
if bitcoin can not scale if alot of transaction is taking place, how would it reach to 1 million predicted by mcafee? mcafee talks about mining cost and limited supply of bitcoin. forgot what else he says. but if bitcoin can not scale. would it reach to 1 million? lets say alot of merchants are taking bitcoin but it have gotten slow like a bank. is it as useful now?
Probably mcafee's prediction would not be reached by 2020 even if bitcoin scaled because it is too crazy IMO. Even if it is slow, it is still more useful than banks since money here cannot be FROZEN unlike in banks. You would only face problems if it is stolen. Nevertheless, I can't see bitcoin as a currency nowadays because most users use it merely for SPECULATION so don't expect many merchants taking bitcoin in the near future.
311  Economy / Economics / Re: Alternative investments on: March 15, 2018, 10:13:09 PM
Maybe go to college and study cryptography maybe distributed ledgers, law, blockchain! If you really believe in the industry train yourself up and contribute. Imagine if you learnt coding pre internet. The biggest experts in this space on have a few years head start
That is a nice suggestion because blockchain tech might be used in many things in the future, and experts in it will be needed. I also think that investments in commodity and stocks are also a good alternative investment but it ain't the best. Another nice investment IMO is going into college and studying courses that have crypto related skills that can be learnt, IMO they will also be needed.
312  Economy / Economics / Re: How much of Bitcoin is FOMO {Fear of missing out} on: March 12, 2018, 09:05:36 PM
do you think Bitcoin and other Crypto currencies would just turn out to be a fad, driven by FOMO?
I don't think crypto in general would turn out to be a fad, driven by FOMO since it is a technology with real potential released in the right timing, unlike google glasses(that is realeased too early). IMO there are too many people that are still not familiar with the current technology advancements.
How are we going to prove to these people that Bitcoin is not a fad and that it is not driven by FOMO?
You don't need to prove these people that bitcoin is not a fad, it will prove itself as time pass by.

Google to Ban ICO and Crypto Ads - Sources
Market became green to early?
Time for FUD?

.
For now what you have read is just one of the theories since google hasn't given a formal statement that they are banning ICO and crypto ads. In fact, there are more theories regarding this matter. Some said FBI is pressuring google to ban ICO and crypto ads, some say it is a Canadian official who wants google to do it, but according to google's reply on financemagnates.com's query regarding this, promotion of ICO and crypto ads is still allowed in their platform.

314  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gox crashing the bitcoin price Why not delete their wallet from the blockchain? on: March 09, 2018, 11:55:59 PM
I would like to know their endgame in dumping the bitcoin and making the currency take a tumble in the first place.Because what they are currently doing seems very suspicious.
For now, what I can see as their goal in dumping bitcoins is to bring price down(the most common reason) but the question is for what? What I can say for now is that it is logical that it will be dumped, after all there is a lot of profit already in just holding it from 2014 up to now but there is probably a hidden agenda to what they are doing right now because they could have had dumped it when it was in the ATH when they are just doing some profit taking.
315  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin helpful to the economy? on: March 06, 2018, 12:45:02 PM
I think Bitcoin is helpful to the economy because it helps the people, may they be employed or unemployed. It helps the people to be productive especially on their vacant times or when they are not working. Bitcoin is getting a lot if attention in many countriesnow because it really helps the people.
It doesn't only help people that way. It also helps in cheaper international transactions as one can send at a cheaper fees from one country to another with the help of crypto in general. When crypto is regulated in a certain country which are legalized, it helps generate additional tax from btc to fiat conversion specially when bitcoin and crypto is well known in the said country. Furthermore, btc can be used as a way for business to accept payments but it ain't widely used atm.
316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Development in Crypto regulations Globally. on: March 05, 2018, 08:46:30 PM
I have read a global update in regulating cryptocurrencies. This is interesting because more and more people are starting to reconsider cryptocurrency while China still holds its stand against it.

Read the rest of the article here and express how you feel about it:
https://hackernoon.com/global-cryptocurrency-regulation-update-march-2018-7a779733a407
What do you expect to china? its a  communist country which the government decides to which is which and how the whole country should do to almost everything, like a dictator you should follow all the regulations or else you will face worst consequences so it is better to obey to the government, more countries are going to adopt cryptocurrencies and even china cant stop that from happening.
Still, that is good news if China stay far away from cryptos since I don't want them manipulating start up coins which are fresh from ICO. Adoptation of many more other countries will help attract more fiat whales to invest into bitcoin and others might start considering to use it as a currency. For now, what crypto needs is the legalization of at least 20 countries for it to really function as a currency.
317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Monero a Good Investment? on: March 04, 2018, 11:17:21 AM
Dear bitcoin community,

I recently started researching in altcoin and I tried to figure out which other altcoin is more used in sending money online (I think a traded currency shows that the currency will resist in the future and will grow) and I came to the conclusion that Monero is that coin.

Why Monero? I think it's pretty simple, Monero because I saw that everyone from the dark web asks for payments in Monero, and this leads me to think that Monero would be a good investment now because from what I understand, even Bitcoin has first massively traded on the dark web, and Monero came as a more anonymous alternative to the dark web and so it replaced the bitcoin there.

So, as the title of this thread says: Is Monero a Good Investment?

I have presented my theory, but what do you think?

Please expose your opinion to help me in making the final decision whether to invest my money in Monero or not.

I deeply appreciate your contribution on this thread.
Your research is spot on as it generates it's value from real world use, which is in this case as a currency in deepweb that aids in buying and selling there. I doubt if it will replace bitcoin though but nevertheless, it is a good investment as it will have a constant stream of demand coming from dark web. Before making your final decision, try to look on other coins with potential you might get more profit in them than monero.
318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If Facebook releases coins, how much does this cost? on: March 03, 2018, 10:34:44 AM
Some people are crazy about trading coins and they are waiting Facebook to launch their cryptocurrency, it is reality?
It is possible that facebook will launch their own cryptocurrency, and it would/might be used mostly in their apps and games as an alternative payment. If it were to launch an ICO though, it would have a price around 0.50$-5$ and will rise up a little after it has been released in exchanges. I wonder though if it will be decentralized or not? I don't think they will like to use a decentralized one.
319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is KMD on bull run? on: March 02, 2018, 11:52:46 PM
This coin has been kept going down for long time and it looks like finally  bouncing back. Another good coin one should keep an eye.
I don't think it is on the bull run yet but it is indeed bouncing back up, maybe it is in for recovery at least. I believe it will test all time high soon but it will not happen this month. For now, just continue keeping an eye on it. I am sure that soon, all of those who bought at the higher prices would profit from hodling KMD. All of those who bought at low prices also will profit greatly.
320  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Daneel.io is my favourite ICO at this moment. on: February 28, 2018, 09:23:42 PM
I've been following Daneel for a while now and I was definetly interested in their project. However, with their latest showcase they blew me out of the water and I've literally become a big fan. And here's why:

1. Daneel.io is the FIRST AI project that will be able to predict the crypto market & aid traders in their decisions
2. They have partnerred up with IBM, which is huge
3. Big data/data intelligence are big business in the current economy, and I have no doubt they will also be in the cryptoworld.
4. Daneel could become the tool every crypto investor uses to help them make decisions

I'm doing more in-depth reviews of upcoming & promising ICO's in my Telegram channel, feel free to join it: https://t.me/ICOAnalysisAndNews
I think they won't be able to fully predict the crypto market so in some way, they would just help a little in aiding traders in their decision. For this reason, I don't think that it can become the tool every crypto investor use to help them make decisions, but I agree that the project has a lot of potential in it to grow. For now, I will hold the daneel.io coins that I got and see what price movements it will do in the next coming months before selling.
