Last week there are rumors that Crawford will announce his opponent this week but it seems that they are still quite on the issue and with the silence of Manny's camp, i don't think that this would push through. I thought Pelicans could find a way to win it against the a short crew Nets but I was wrong.
Lost my bet once again but the game was also intense. What I was scared for did happen. Kyrie wore his hot hands and dominated the game.
Harris also made a large contribution to seal the win.
My last chance is for the Clippers to win it. But, Trail Blazers is also fighting back even without Lillard playing. McCollum leading the team and always better when Lillard is not around. - Won
Kyrie Irving will always wore that hot whenever he is alone (sans KD and Harden) and it seems that they have good chemistry with Joe Harris. I usually stay away from Nets game but against the young Pelicans with an attractive odds, it's fortunate that i put a little on the ML. There a report that Harden will be out indefinitely, this is very bad news for them as KD is also struggling from injury and i doubt Kyrie alone can lift his team against top tier teams. |

Looks like salary now has become an issue in the PBA, especially from these Phil AM players who are in demand and could play in other leagues that could give a competitive salary, maybe they just have to remain humble, besides it's just temporary of being a rookie, just like getting into the job, we started as probationary and we don't receive a big salary, but once we pass that period, we will be regularize and might be promoted as well, so that's the time where we can achieve a good salary.
That's the point, everybody went through that scenario on being a rookie and being paid with that maximum rookie salary and this the first time that i've heard a rookie complaining of his supposed to be salary. If ever he would show his real worth in the coming season, there is no debate that he would get want he want, salary-wise. Prove your worth first before asking because there are too many guards nowadays in the PBA that are as talented as everybody. |

I wonder what convinced the referee and others that the match was fixed? I expect a skilled observer to compare each team/player past performance and their performances in the match in order to have some idea whether they cheated or not. They also need to know the betting site where such bet is alleged to have taken place... I'd guess lot more people will bet or money will be staked on the team the betting site's customers are expecting to win/lose. In regards to bribing a team/player , it's possible that one team or some players are paid to lose or play poorly. So, they could somehow determine this by comparing the past performances of players who played suspiciously in the match.

I don't know if you will agree with my observation but whenever only one of the Nets' big three is playing, most of the time they won. I'm also confused why is that, maybe there's some chemistry issue when the three of them playing. With that, i'm still going with the Nets as i think they still have some big men that can slow down and limit the offensive output of Zion. |

Have you guys knew that Mickey Williams is still not officially a Katropa?
Yes, according to news on social media that Williams wants to be paid equal to his salary in his MPBL days which is Php300K in which many doubted it was true because no MPBL teams is rich enough to pay that kind of amount.
The maximum rookie salary is Php200K and considering you are a rookie i think this is enough and not agreeing to that might give the team an impression that you have a problem attitude because you are deviating to standards.

Actually sports rigging is really happening, not only in the Philippines, this one is just so obvious, they brought the rigging into the next level that anyone watching the game would notice. They did not even benfit from this fight because AFAIK, the game was stopped.
I have never think Philippines could do such in their professional basketball, it's really obvious what they did and it's an insult to philipines citizens and international basketball federation as well. This incidence can actually result to penalty by the federation in charge of basketball as this will eventually repeat itself if proper punishment is not taken. Just saying. This could happen anywhere in the world and the Philippines is not exempted with this kind of scandal and in fact this is not the first that this happen in the Philippines though this one is too obvious. MPBL, which is own by Manny Pacquiao has it's own share of rigging too but that one is not too obvious and but still they are investigated and DOJ will be filing complaints against those who are involved. I have talked to the brother of the one involved (happen to be my third cousin), they have the denied the accusation and said that as far as they are concern (Lapu-Lapu team), there was no rigging and what happened was just the result of the opponents not willing to score and they felt offended by that. If they knew that it was rigged then they would not do such bad acting as it's too obvious that everybody will notice that something fishy is happening. |

This is not only great for them but for the sports, I did a quick reading but I only found the words "SOLD OUT", they didn't tell how much it is equivalent to amount, I think it's way lower compared to the actual capacity of the venue since protocol of social distancing is still in place, am i right? Yup, it's 50 percent capacity for now and a rough estimate, it could be below 5k tickets which were being sold out and probably they will open more seats as the interest in this fight is high for now.  ^^ is the layout of the stadium, there we can make estimates on how many people would be watching. |

More than 2 months from this post , any update of what this fight showing in future?
also there is still no sign of Manny fighting anyone this near .. The only hurdle is the location and during a pandemic when everyday things changes it is hard to tell exactly when the fight would happen, even we are waiting for the Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury date as well as they find it difficult to put the match together like they wanted with audience and these fights are made to make money through live gates as well and they might wait for a time when everything is back to a certain level of certainty. I don't think that the location/venue of the fight is the problem. It may be one but i do think Team Pacquaio is in deep analysis on who will they fight next and of course, the pandemic really is the main reason of the delay because Pacman is a public servant and he can't just leave his office whenever he want. Manny will be fighting this year because he has already summoned his long time trainer and friend Buboy Fernandez to General Santos City, that's the sign that Manny is doing the early preparation for a fight before Justine Fortune and Coach Roach takes over. |

First I respect the referee for stopping the game after the first half but no matter the reason behind the obvious rigging of the basket ball game both the team involved and their officials absolutely disrespected the game of basket ball, they should be penalized and the big fish behind it.
That's one positive thing with this scandal. The organizers were quick to noticed that the game was rigged or this something fishy about it. I may say that whoever had the intention of rigging the games did not succeed as the game was stopped. As what i've said in my previous post (other thread), only one team knows that the game were to be rigged and the other just poorly handled the situation but still they are liable for their actions. Rigged games were supposed not to be played that way, very obvious and even the not so fan of basketball can notice the anomalies. |

If they are betting against themselves, then they should already had made money on this. Maybe they were doing this kind of activity for so long and already made some money out of it. The question is, if the fine is just monetary, it would be easy for them to get away if they bet millions on that game.
What bookies are actually accepting bets on this particular league in the Philippines?
I'm just curious as I haven't bet on this game yet.
I looked through Sportbet as they cover some games in the MPBL but i didn't saw they cover the Vis-Min Cup so i think if they were betting online, it's just a local online bookies. I have not tried betting on local bookies as i think they need KYC so i didn't bother to try. I'm very disappointed/frustrated about this issue because aside from the fact that this is a disgrace to the game we love, i have a relative playing for Lapu-Lapu team which could affect his personal life after basketball. This is already for investigation and i hope he will come out clean. |

They must be very ashamed of themselves after what they did. I will just cite some scenarios that happened which is very obvious that this is fix game. 1. Free Throws of one team is just hitting the board and not the ring. Its also obvious that they aren't really have the intention to shoot it. 2. One team is just wasting their time when they are holding the ball. Whenever they have the ball, they are just wasting it and in the end the opposing team will steal it causing a turnover. 3. There are also times that the one team is free and it is a fastbreak but he can't shoot it. He is free but he can't shoot it?? Sounds obvious. There is also one instance where a player is free to shoot and he made a hook shot from about 5 ft away from the ring but the ending?? It is an airball and take note the defender did nothing on it but stand but it ended up still as an airball. These 3 are just a few of the obvious reasons that the game was fixed probably because of this online bets. Do I believe on this. Its obvious so yes and in fact one team has been banned and the other is just suspended and both of them are fined 1 Million each. PBA players also reacted with this. They really are just ruining the sport that they loved, that we are love to play. Its the first time to have a league like this in VisMin but they did this. Shame on these people. TBH, i didn't watched the video though i saw some clips but i don't want to see the whole thing they do to disgrace the game. Just my analysis, i believed that players/coaching staff from the Siquijor team knows that the game was rigged while players from Lapu-lapu team didn't because of the things that they do were so obvious. It you intentionally missed free throws, you know that people would noticed that and that's not a good acting in a rigged game. Nevertheless, it is still a very bad game to watch and it's just fitting that GAB ordered an investigation and punished those people behind this. |

Manny Pacquiao vs. Terence Crawford June 5th confirmation delayedThere is no mention of what's probably the reason for the delay. But reading the article, looks like they still have lots of things on the table as the statement was; "Some more things need to be signed off". Anyhow, if it's not possible on June 5th then just do their best to make it this year. Seems to me that this is far from reality, i'm not being negative here but Team Pacman is very silent regarding the update of his future fight. Maybe because if Manny proceed with his plan on fighting this year this might have an impact on his political plans. If Crawford really wants to fight twice this year then they have to have an opponent this early to have ample time on the second fight this year and that might leave Pacman facing another opponent. |
