Interesting times. Am very curious what price the stakes will reach at auction.
max 5 btc. beyond that there will not be a good return for those winning the bids And you say that based on what? 5 btc would put NEM at 20000 BTCs which is roughly around $10M. My guess is NEM would have a market cap of 50 - 70M in the initial weeks. Wouldn't those bidding expect a return of 500%? Well this is my opinion. Even if someone was willing to pay 5 or 10 BTC per stake, the people selling their stake would much lower the price, because at over 2-3 BTC, many people would sell to realize their profit! not really.. if people are willing to bid for a stake pre launch then it shows how much demand there is for stakes... the more demand the more people will want to hold and see what happens... but there is always a point when the rice price is reached.. for me for a nem stake it would be atleast 6-7 btc... no less... If NEM stakes get traded at 5-10 BTC I will sell mine and rebuy NEM at launch. Just because EVERY other coin launch had significant dips at the launch. I want to be part of this project, but I also have some common sence that his project wont be valued at 20-30k BTC from the early start.

Hi guys, I have Java installed, downloaded NAS, unzipped, cd to NAS dir, then
java -cp nxt.jar;lib\*;conf nxt.Nxt and instead of NRS starting it says 'lib: command not found' then a few lines down 'conf: command not found'
Any ideas?
Try this: java -cp nxt.jar:lib/*:conf nxt.Nxt This should havebeen already updated though. regards

Distribution aside, is there any article or post giving an outline of what will NAS offer that won't offer NXT?
Not really an article, but the dev is currently writing on a new desctop .exe client that will have a chat and a decentralised dice game!

When people do the math, and realize what promotional power 15% of NEM (>5000 BTC), plus over 1000 unique stakeholders will bring to future value, I see these stakes at auction going for a mega-shit-ton. Then, this makes the 15% worth even more. Its an amazing idea. 10 BTC easy!!
We will see how the market will decide it. Bur remember NEM is not launched yet and has not prove anything yet. I sold my co-worker a Spike energy drink for 5 NEM two weeks ago, retail is $2.50 so current conversion rate of 1 NEM = .50 USD That's fact. 4000000000*0.5 = 2 billion USD. A 1/3rd of BTC. Hmm

I was just wondering, If someone places a hidden order in the order book, and a trader takes (part of that) order, will the transaction also be hidden or show up in the public trade history, like any other order?
It will show up. Would be unfair if it didn't. There was once a darkorderbook on gox years ago, but this is not the case here.

you want 50k BTC for 1% of the coin leading to a 5000000 Marketcap (five-million bitcoins) or you want 50k$ in BTC for 1% of the coin leading to 5000000$ Marketcap (five-million USD)
Both sound ridiculous, is there a typo?

Chancecoin has no chance. Counterparty XCP has betting function in cmd client and will add betting to the counterwallet soon. The function in chancecoin can be realized easily in Counterparty. No need this chancecoin altcoin at all.
This has nothing to do with the betting-game of Chancecoin. At the starting of XCP I've seen some discussion about it and it seems that its betting system could be flawed. I can't find any news about it, devs probably gave up. Even if they implement a betting system later, be careful about the fact that it will not work the same way. The big difference between XCP and Chancecoin is that Chancecoin is made to be a betting system, the XCP base is only a way to implement it. Chancecoin's devs were thinking about the betting system before the cryptocurrency. Also, XCP had no working functions until recently while the betting system of Chancecoin is working while the burn-period is not finished. There is already a nice working client and the devs are going to make a new one based on CoinJ so people doesn't have to download the whole blockchain. They fix the biggest problem of XCP before the burn-period is done. This is a very original and interesting project, I haven't seen any for months in cryptocurrency world. Nicely Put! When the new client is in place, everyone around the world can play dice without any 3rd party interfeering and without ANY trust, and all this with a lightweight java client. This is a unique situation, as this was never possible until now. And now you can even be a part of this with burning!
