3001  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: December 17, 2022, 10:08:03 AM
Does anyone have any predictions for the semi-finals, I haven't determined my predictions for now Smiley
I got Team Liquid and Faze to win the semi-finals but with the given odds I think the over 2.5 might be the best play given how we rarely see 2-0s in this tournament.

Also, i'm only taking both favorites since the Blast promotions offered by 500casino have been hitting but if i'm not participating in the promo i'd go for the overs than picking any side.

Maybe you are right. It is better to go over and then you can parlay it +1.5 maps to get a higher odd. It is very hard to predict the winner of these matches, but I will risk a few bucks on OG and G2. They are underdogs but this tournament has a lot of upsets so maybe we will have upsets in the semis too. Here are the odds of today's matches.

Might throw in some $$$ towards G2 just because of those odds and not how they performed recently. I'm still 50/50 on their composure and their ability to play as a team as of late even though they just won against Vitality, a relatively strong team on its own right. M0nesy, as usual, is the one carrying this team even though niko has some help with hooxi leading in to the charge on some rounds. It would be an interesting match against the two teams but I'm leaning more towards G2 making a miracle again and breezing past FaZe in the semis.
3002  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do online casinos disadvantage some locations from winning big on: December 17, 2022, 09:09:27 AM
I'm not sure of such issue happening with the gambling platforms. But, similar things of rigging could happen with platforms that focus on scamming the users. I've seen people making comparison between different times zone having difference in the win probability. I'm not sure, this is just a coincidence or something that is happening out of the algorithm based on which the games were developed.

Rigging? possible as we have seen accusations about it in the past, if I remember it correctly, colluding in poker game is one. But not sure how it will it affect the location of the gamblers though. I mean even land base casinos are open 24x7, so doesn't matter what time zones are you playing, because online casinos as well will be open.

The only to be at a disadvantage is that if casinos are not provably fair with their players. But our location has nothing to do with it.

I guess what OP is trying to say is that there might be some localities that are very strict when it comes to winnings of people, and it might cause an alarm to them as it may be a possible case of money laundering or whatever. I haven't heard of such thing happening honestly, and to tell you the truth the largest winning that I saw a person bag out of the establishment is way upwards of $100,000 in cold, hard cash. No alarms whatsoever, but it was made obvious by the fact that the casino manager himself escorted the winner outside the building holding two bags of money, together with the casino security up to the parking lot. They never do that even to VIPs, just to people who won big at their platform hoping that the hospitality will make them come back and lose that money to the casino again.
3003  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are we ever going to see this on gambling platforms some day. on: December 16, 2022, 11:55:11 PM
There were some platforms that tried to do this just a year or two ago, and even now there are still some people trying to push this but unfortunately it hasn't caught on with the interest of people just yet. Perhaps people only want to game and not add any money to it because they know they suck at it Cheesy but it's a pretty great idea if you ask me. I've been playing those kinds of video games for decades, and in my childhood days we used to go to other cities just trying to find people whom can we make a bet on with these games. Most of the time we win, but a lot of times we're just chasing the thrill of it.

Kinda forgot the name of the site but they even had tokens that you can exchange to crypto once you've accumulated enough of it in your PvP journey.
3004  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: December 16, 2022, 11:35:50 PM
Natus Vincere are still a disappointment as a team I'm afraid. I also admired s1mple and b1t against Liquid today but Natus Vincere were still desperate at the end. This is a quite early elimination after Major. Things are still going really bad for the team. s1mple made a statement before this tournament started. He said that they should focus on their next events by forgetting about the previous victories. He made a really good point because maybe the current situation is due to being complacent.

There is a big improvement in G2's performance surprisingly these days. They have eliminated Vitality by 2-1 as well. Especially their Nuke performance was spectacular (16-3). Anubis was the map bringing them their victory. But FaZe is going to be another huge obstacle for them. I think FaZe seem to be the only team that can stop them among the remaining teams.

I'm anticipating some changes in their roster in the next few weeks. A lot of bad things has been happening to their tournaments and lan events that I don't think s1mple encouraging his team and b1t being a great supporting dude all throughout their matches is still working. They really need to consider whether they are still working as a team or they're just trying to glue the pieces together that cannot be fixed. Sdy has been pretty instrumental as a newbie on the team, but there are still some things—especially his decision making—that he needs to work on. Electronic also needs to study more on their enemy because they are being crushed by defaults and utility usage MOST OF THE TIME. If they want to win more and more, they have to overhaul their thinking or just remove who they think is weighing the team down.
3005  Economy / Economics / Re: Vegetable Prices Soar 40% as Crops Fail Under Extreme Weather on: December 16, 2022, 10:42:01 PM
The US is not the only one experiencing these extreme price rises in vegetables recently. Here in the Philippines, the cost of onions soared over 200% within the last 6 months, and even though crop farming is good since there aren't that much typhoons that devastated the farmlands that produce these things, the gov't can't do something about the price of the produce and have just suggested people to be 'thrifty' in any way they can. Other greens such as cabbage and lettuce have also experienced price increases over the months, although not as harsh as onions and chilis but you can feel it in your pocket. Imagine trying to be healthy and eat healthy, but the prices of green produce which should be a cheap and viable option is now more expensive than chicken, pork, and beef per kilo.  Huh
3006  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: December 16, 2022, 05:36:24 PM
Seems like Vitality is still extending their slump. G2 is slowly edging them out 1-0, with the said team currently having the upper hand against Vitality in Vertigo. Usually this map is heavily CT Sided, but so far most of the rounds belong to G2 in their T-side and are continuing to extend their lead. Vitality star player zywoo doesn't seem to be doing anything at all. The rest of the team seem to not be in sync today. If they want a shot at the semis, they have to stop scattering around A and contesting ramp/yellow peek. But I guess they will just continue to d that strat until the end.
3007  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino Credit on: December 16, 2022, 01:51:35 PM
It should stay as a feature for the high rollers and not those who are gambling whenever they have the extra money. This could lead to addiction enabled by this casino feature and a lot of broken families and shattered lives along the way. The easier it is to get access to credits, the more dangerous it can get to the gamblers as it is a fragile step towards gambling addiction.

If ever they have applications or eligibility for casino credits, it should be high enough to discourage people from applying unless they have the financial capabilities to do it. Or better, add some extra hoops on the application process to make everything hard for the gambler.
3008  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: On Hal Finney storing his keys in a safe deposit box on: December 16, 2022, 11:05:43 AM
I'm pretty sure Hal knows what might happen when one of the most prominent cypherpunks of our time and one of the first bitcoin believers state that lines that he uttered before he left us. Also, I'm certain that he already have those keys encrypted before he handed them over to whichever bank of his choosing, adding another layer of security to a seemingly impenetrable (lol) institution. He understands all of those, and when you are a dying man, the best interest of your loved ones you'll be leaving behind will be put first. And as a dying man, maybe Hal doesn't really want to make it hard for his family, and the obvious choice for that are the banks that can fulfill all of his last agenda before leaving this world—keeping his bitcoins safe and making it easy for his family to claim it.
3009  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Too much uncertanity here it got be more sure here what i say on: December 16, 2022, 10:45:35 AM
With the way you worded/presented your idea, it seems like you are also going to be one of them (the 'Wall Street guys'). What you're presenting has been pitched by a lot of people in the past, and what difference will it make anyway now that the bitcoin market has gotten too big? No matter how much we give in individually, we wouldn't be making that much of a dent to move the market in our favor. We will be needing more than deep pockets in order to be able to move things around. Perhaps whales with over 100k bitcoins on their arsenal can cause some movement, but not in a way that it becomes prolonged and influences the market fully.
3010  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 99% of People Will Lose Crypto in Self Custody on: December 16, 2022, 10:07:55 AM
He's logically correct, but his figures are exaggerated that's for sure. While not very many people know how to keep their wallets secure, centralized exchanges/custodial wallets are also being attacked for most of the time. This is why it's also important for people looking to invest in cryptocurrencies to learn to handle their own coins as much as they can before they send that $ into their exchange accounts. It feels even better to handle your own coins in your own wallet, with the certainty that no one will ever get those from you except for a hacker due to your own carelessness.
3011  Economy / Economics / Re: Forget a return to office: We’re living in the age of side hustles on: December 16, 2022, 07:10:30 AM
You'll be surprised with how many companies ans startups are looking for freelancers to fill in a gap on their operations and production for a while until they find a permanent replacement.

As someone in the medical field versed with handling electronic health records, I employed my skills and experience to the test and tried to market myself in the said field. Currently I have a client (a doctor) who requires me to work for 20 hours a week, at a rate of $35 per hour encoding patient records and/or setting up appointments for the said doctor. It is a very light work, and allows me to earn $2500+ on top of my base salary (hah, much lower than this 'side gig'). Even my colleagues are on the hunt for clients, trying their luck in freelancing just like I did.

With the soaring prices of everything in this day and age, a second job or any side gigs is a must. If I can have more time in a day, I'd honestly enter the dropshipping business too, but I already have too much in my plate (60+ hours a week). Even more, if I could bring the lab into my house, I'd never go out anymore unless I want to and I have to. Tons of side gigs/hustles allow people to be at the comfort of their home without sacrificing the quality of their work. If other companies can outsource their company processes remotely, why can't other companies do it and cut costs in managing a property housing their operations?

But yeah, side hustles are aplenty out there. You just have to have your niche and be good at it, and hopefully get quit your regular job and just stay at home all day long.
3012  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Proof Of Income Will This Pass on: December 16, 2022, 05:31:01 AM
If you got your income together legally, then it shouldn't be a problem, right? I also don't think gambling sites have the right to go into much more detail about this. And then there, how is a gambling site going to check something like that? If they want to elaborate on that, it's usually a sign that you can't trust the site and that they're stretching things. Too bad, because it should only be for administration and not to perform all kinds of checks. After all, a gambling site has absolutely no power and authorization to carry out such checks.

They will have it if you let them. The moment you have given the document to their hands, it is also the moment you have given them the right to do further verification and checking to see whether these documents are up to standard and are not forged in any way. You'd be surprised on how agreeing to some terms of services extends the legal right of a gambling platform to a lot of things. That is why people should really think twice or thrice before checking that tick box on the ToS of every website/service/whatever it is that they are signing up for. They worded it well that you won't think there's anything wrong, when in reality you're giving them every right to go against your ass the moment you submit that document and checked the ToS.
3013  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is There Any Crypto Casino With An In-built Mini Crypto Exchange? on: December 15, 2022, 11:59:29 PM
I think most of crypto gambling sites that offer multiple coin options do have some sort of exchange system within their platform. Although if you're talking about exchanges that offer trading and investments, that could hardly come by because that is a subfeature that could potentially cost them more than the gambling side of their business itself. I think established gambling sites like Duelbits, Betfury, Stake, and many others have this feature built into their platform as it helps customers like you who oftentimes find themselves using the wrong coin for the wrong games. Although in the case of you wanting to easily exchange your bitcoin to usdt. You just need to acquaint yourself to their platform I guess.

It should be embedded within the platform. Casinos that have multiple coin options within their platform should enable fast swap in order for it to not be a hassle to the gambler. They can easily integrate it given that they already have the wallets for those coins, just the balances being transferred from 1 account to another. It doesn't necessarily have to be a full-pledged exchange, just some seamless changing between 1 coin to another.
3014  Economy / Economics / Re: Will Nuclear Fusion be a reality in the next decade? on: December 15, 2022, 10:05:27 PM
We have the technology, we have the theoretical knowledge that it is possible with the data that we have from observing our own Sun, we just have to find the working formula in order to make it work in contained environments without the fusion materials losing control in the middle of it all. Last time I heard, China was able to replicate it albeit in a very short time. No such damaging effects whatsoever, just a momentary glimpse of what it can really be inside a very controlled environment. I think the next decade will bring about a lot of technological improvements in terms of creating raw energy which can be harnessed by Man. I have my hopes up, and believe that we can do it just like we did fission back in the 40s with relatively primitive technology compared to what we have today.
3015  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: December 15, 2022, 09:17:50 PM
Didn't expect Navi to edge it out against Heroic. What a great turn of events after that shotgun round from sjuush. Honestly not expecting Navi to come back after that round but man, you can see how focused S1mple and everyone got especially on round 30 when Heroic is trying to retake. No unnecessary movements from b1t this time, and S1mple just trusts the man to cover for his right while S1mple is peeking from the top if someone will jump from it. Great to see G2 and Navi now trying to claw their way back in to the top teams circle!
3016  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: turned gambler after investing in BTC or investor turned gambler? on: December 15, 2022, 06:06:08 PM
I'm an investor and a gambler, and I don't even know if one activity turned me into one or the other as I am still actively doing both whenever I have the time. I regularly play dice weekly, and bet on sports that I do know and that I do like whenever there is a match/game that I wanted some stakes on, You don't necessarily need to be converted into just one of them; if you are an investor in crypto you already know that that in itself is a gamble. Whereas in gambling it will come to a point when you're trying to convince yourself that whatever your spending in a casino is an investment from your pocket—and that is wrong considering that you are almost always guaranteed to suffer a loss in gambling.
3017  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What New And Other Casinos Should Do To Get To The Top And Edge Top Casinos on: December 15, 2022, 05:01:38 PM
They should earn it. Before these casinos came to top, a lot of effort and time has been put into work, and a lot of failures came into play to make the perfect] casino that you're seeing right now. Casinos that are frequented by a lot of people perfected their platform by listening to their peers and improving based on those suggestions/feedbacks. A casino can spend millions on advertising and still be shit and not have patrons, because they do not listen to customer concerns and are mainly in it for pure profits and not build client connections.
3018  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tipping during live slot, or casino games. on: December 15, 2022, 12:14:08 PM
If I win, sure. Why the hell not? If not, then I don't see the point in tipping at all. I already lost enough funds for the day to even consider tipping at this point. Plus, those attendants should already have their income covered by their salaries and not really expect a tip on every person that plays on the casino/platform. I don't have anything against the tipping culture, perhaps it should not be mandatory nor required at all because employers should pay their employees a fair and liveable wage. I'm pretty sure not everyone on the casino will be happy with being forced to tip anyway.
3019  Economy / Economics / Re: Tesla’s stock prices dropping fast on: December 15, 2022, 10:56:59 AM
it seems that investors are no longer liking Elon's antics regarding Twitter and feels that as long as the man is trying to play with this social media giant, it will eventually lead to disappointments and financial mistakes on the CEO's part. The general public sentiment about Elon handling Twitter has been pretty negative thus far, and it just makes his image a lot more distasteful the more he pushes through with this Twitter thing. Even if the brand itself is doing so-so in terms of market performance and general public sentiment, the fact that Elon is on the helm of its operations also make Tesla an easy target for the public (and investors) lashing out on Elon.
3020  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Listen me and double your money 17 december (ufc bet) on: December 15, 2022, 10:21:55 AM
This is a 50/50 fight and neither of them has the upper hand against another. Strickland being somewhat the favorite here is no surprise, given that he has more fights in his bout and has a lot more experience in the said fighting tournament compared to Cannonier. Meanwhile, Cannonier seems to be full focus on this bout compared to Sean, and you're not really one of the first ones who though that maybe, Jared can outclass Strickland in this fight. Lots of betting circles are already predicting the same as you do, although the odds haven't swayed enough to show the people's sentiment about this match.
